Chapter 2

Walking through the halls, the girl gazed at everyone. Her collar, higher than others to cover her marking. Snobby elites, elites, rich people, Oo a nonbender, dualbender, chaotic bundles of energy. Crescent stopped at her classroom door. Meditation for spiritbenders. Ugh. Walking in, the teacher greeted her with a smile.

"You must be the new student! How was the tour yesterday?" He smiled.

"It was nice." She shrugged, she couldn't care less honestly.

"So I'll have you introduce yourself when the bell rings and then assign you to your seat. Alright?"

"Sure"

The bell rang after a couple minutes and the class began to settle down. The teacher introduces her to the class.

"Class, meet our new student Crescent! She's a new scholarship dual bender!" The teacher introduced. The class mumbled among themselves at the sight of such a cold looking girl in the class.

"Nice to meet you all. I look forward to attending class with you all. My other element is Water" She bowed. The teacher pointed at a seat and she headed there.

'She looks so unapproachable'

'She's scary'

Crescent sat down as the teacher began their meditation session.

"Let go of your thoughts..."

Crescent breathed out as a hurricane of thoughts rushed through her. Her childhood, joy, pain, banishment, wait banishment? When did she ever get banished?

"...accept your pain..."

Crescent was suddenly ripped to consciousness as she saw a man towering over her in her visions. She looked around and found everyone unfazed. Oh right. Airbenders let go of all earthly things. Crescent tried again and again, only to be ripped to consciousness by a different vision each time. Finally, the bell rang, signalling 5 minutes until their next class. Picking up her things, she rushed out the classroom.

"Crescent" the girl flinched.

"Ice... why are you here?" She questioned.

"We share the next class together."

"Water logistics? Nice" Crescent hummed. "I though you didn't need to take simple classes anymore?"

"Water logistics is for advanced waterbenders?" Ice asked.

"Wait. WhAt" Crescent was cONFUSED.

"Let's go. We have 2 minutes"

"sHIT" Crescent rushed after Ice. The two made it in as they settled down. A girl glared at Crescent as she sat down next to Ice.

"Fanclub?"

"Yeah. I have less compared to Mint tho. You should see his harem" Ice coughed.

"Is it half the school?"

"90% of the elite girls"

"LmAO" Crescent wheezed.

The teacher entered as the class stood to greet him. Sitting down after the greeting, Crescent began recording her notes. Ice, confused but not wanting to ask, pulled out his laptop and started his shenanigans. Class ended in an hour as the two parted at the door. Crescent was stopped however.

"Who are yOU? And why were you with my boyfriend?" A scarlet haired girl pointed her finger at her accusingly. She looked to be rich, and the brooch on her chest confirmed Crescent's suspicions.

Named the school's star, her name Astaria suited her pretty well. The redhead's azure eyes glared at her. A face full of makeup, she was Ice's fanclub's president. Proclaiming herself as his girlfriend by default, she made it her business whenever Ice hung out with anyone. Being the daughter of the biggest investor of the school, everyone feared her. Or so she thought.

"Your boyfriend? Honey I'm just trying to make some friends. You two can go and make out for all I care" Crescent rolled her eyes.

"You! DO you know whose sister I am?"

"That investor? Yes I know. Do I care? Not really darling. Now if you'd like to move, I need to get to my next class." Crescent brushed her aside as she headed to her new class.

"WHOSE DAUGHTER DOES SHE THINK SHE IS" Astaria hissed.

The rest of class passed simply. The lunch bell rang, and a stampede of hungry students rushed to the cafeteria. Crescent sighed, lining up at the end of the line.

"CRESCENT!"

Hearing her name being yelled, she looked for the source of the caller.

Finding herself staring at an unfamiliar figure, she turned around. It wasn't until Ice yanked her to their table that she realized the girl was part of the student council.

"Nice to meet you! My name's Estelle!" A teal eyed girl grinned.

Estelle was the student council's secretary. With the unusual shade of teal eyes, her faded hair was also odd. Her grin welcoming yet sly, Crescent could only smile lightly. On her chest rested a silver lily with an emerald and a sapphire, signaling her rank.

"Ah. I'm Crescent, but I'm sure you already know that"

"I'm Hatsumi. Student council treasurer"

Hatsumi's green eyes were dull from emotion. Her silver hair rested in a ponytail and her navy uniform was neat with no wrinkles. A silver dollar with an emerald and ruby encrusted rested on her chest. A symbol of her power in the school.

"So um. Why am I sitting with you all?" Crescent asked. "I can feel all of you guys' fanclubs coming for me already"

"Don't worry about them. They'll leave you alone eventually." Mint waved it off.

"Were you expecting to sit down with a bunch of strangers and have lunch with them?" Ice scoffed.

"Kind of yeah. I wanted to meet new people" she paused "I thought I wasn't allowed to sit with people higher ranking than I?"

"The rules have loosened" Ice noted. "Besides, if leaving a scratch on my face yesterday counts, then you technically already have a seat in the student council if you wanted."

"I'M SORRY?" Estelle screeched. "YOU GOT SCRATCHED BY A NEWBIE?"

"Yeah"

"So unlike you" Hatsumi hummed. "Perhaps you were going easy on her. You probably didn't need to do anything if you were really trying."

"It works though. I had to freeze an entire tsunami from this new one" Ice glared at Crescent. She shrugged.

" A TSUNAMI? Damn sis. What a queen" Estelle fangirled.

The lunch bell rang.

"Alright see you all tomorrow" Crescent waved.

School ended simply. Just like the day before. No trouble, no worries.
