THE 7TEEN: LET THE PAIN EXIST

Meet Dhruv, a 17-year-old boy shrouded in mystery. His life took a turn for the worse six months ago when his father passed away in a car accident, leaving him to contend with his neglectful mother and school bullies. However, everything changes on January 17th, 2017, when the police arrive at his doorstep to inquire about the murders of three of his classmates. Suddenly, Dhruv finds himself at the center of a murder mystery. As the truth begins to emerge, it becomes clear that things are not as they seem, and the line between right and wrong is blurred. Brace yourself for a thrilling ride where anything can happen, as the truth ISN'T WHITE ANYMORE. And Pain, Let It Exist! My novel stands out from many others in that it has a distinct conclusion and employs a unique storytelling style. Rather than following the conventional novel format, it is structured like a script. This decision was made to maintain a quick pace throughout the thrilling story without making it overly lengthy.

THE PLOT

17 Jan 2017; 9.25 P.M.

Pooja was out of words when she saw Dhruv in the room. Words like surprise or terror might be an understatement of what she felt at that moment. She wanted to get out of the room. She just could NOT have sat there with him. But she spent soo much time in surprise that by the time she turned around, the door was closed. It took a few minutes, but Dhruv talked her down. Pooja finally settled on her seat, she had many questions in her head, and she wanted answers. She did not hesitate to ask them,

Pooja: You creep! What are you doing here? And why am I made to sit with you? First, tell me, were Raj, Yash, and Shreyash killed? I mean, did you kill them? I know you did!! I saw you outside Yash's house that day! Why did you kill them? Huh? I am asking something! Answer me, you creep!

Dhruv: Something?! That's quite a lot of things you just asked! But I guess none of those questions concerns you. Now all you need to know is that you are found guilty of killing Vikram!

Pooja (Shouts): I DID NOT...

Dhruv (Cutting her sentence): KILL HIM? I know you did not kill him! Because I was the one who killed him! Not only him but every one of them died because of me!... Do you know what's different with Vikram's case? I confessed to the other three murders, but I did not follow the procedure for Vikram's death! You are his killer Pooja!

Pooja(Yelling): But I did not kill him!

Dhruv: I know! But honestly, the truth does not matter here. All that matters is what narrative feels more right. And I made sure that it's the narrative that makes you the prime suspect of this whole thing.

Pooja: What do you mean?

Dhruv: I was going to kill Vikram on 13th Jan, but luckily you called him that day and at a perfect time. I heard you, and I thought, why not make this a little more interesting!.... I found out about the whole BLACKMAIL thing, and I staged a new plan!

Pooja: You mean, you did not.. kill him that day just because...

Dhruv: Yep! I left him that day, just so that I could kill him on 16th, the day you two were going to meet each other.

Pooja: But, how did you do it?

Dhruv: While I was leaving his building, I took a sharp look, the cameras, the gates, main switchboard, people, watchman, every little thing!... On 16th, I was keeping an eye on his building and waiting for you to come. As you entered the building, I too entered it through the exit gate, I knew all the blank spots, and it was easy!.... But yeah, waiting for you to leave was the hardest part. You stayed up way too long!.... As I saw you leave, I turned down the power from the main switchboard, and the lights went off! His house was on the second floor, which made running up and down a little less time-consuming! The door was open, and when I saw him, he was fixing his pants. I am damn sure you two had sex that day! (Chuckles) Well, as he was fixing his pants, his back was facing me. I took the spanner from my bag, hit him on the back of his head. I hit him 4 to 5 times maybe! He fell! I opened the window in the hall, purposely dropped some blood on the window so that the police would notice it, then I threw the spanner from the window! And of course, ran from there as soon as possible! And I also had to power on from the switchboard before anyone could get suspicious! That was the fastest and the most painless death I gave anyone.

Pooja (Surprised): You... did all this… just to frame me for the murder I didn't commit! (In high pitch) WHYYYYY???!!!!!! What did I even do to deserve this? What did I do to you for this? (Starts crying) Why Dhruv, why?....(Thinks for a minute)Wait,... they said, the murder weapon had my fingerprints on it! If you did it, then your fingerprints should have been on it! Even if you wore some gloves or something, how did my fingerprints reach there?!

Dhruv: I TRAPPED YOU IN MY TRAP!.... Two days ago, I came down to your house. So what I was going to do was something that could have been accomplished only through luck, just dumb luck! I took a toolbox, placed it near your father's car, opened and kept the spanner out. The plan was that when you return home, you will see that open toolbox and spanner and put it where it belongs, inside the box. And that day when you came home, you saw that toolbox but did nothing and went straight in! And I thought, 'FUCK'. Then the miracle happened! You came out...

Pooja(Continuing Dhruv's story): Holding to my phone, talking to someone, angry! In a mood to kill someone! I walked towards the car as I was talking, and when the call finished, I was angry, and I kicked that toolbox. I stood there pulling my hair in stress. And before I went in again, I took the toolbox, grabbed everything that fell out of it, and placed it back in the box!

Dhruv: EXACTLY! My luck was not as bad as I thought it was!.. as now you have answers to your questions. Let us move to something more important. You do not have to be concerned about the dead, Pooja! You should be concerned about yourself! I made sure that no matter what, I create enough evidence against you that no lawyer in this world can save you. I mean, I am pretty sure Rathod Saheb must have told you all about the proof that they have got against you. Pretty solid, isn't it?

In this chapter, we see how Dhruv framed Pooja for Vikram's murder through his brilliant plot. And how exactly did Pooja's fingerprint reach the murder weapon. But the question remains, why did he frame Pooja?
