Welcia shopping (Revised) - A New World Arc (4)

Welcia City is a growing city in the Wieka country. Its development is ongoing with many new shops opening daily and the city expanding. There is a newly built Academy in Welcia on the outskirts of the town in a new development area that wants to attract more magic-focused merchants. From what I can assume, the city was once a small village, but what was the incentive to make it a city?

!In the past Welcia was indeed a village. It was made a city with the permission of King Wieka by the lord of this land, Lord Welcia. The reason for the advancement to a city is unknown but I can assume that there is a military advantage here!

"You may be right about this. I am inclined to believe that they made the village a city to prepare for a war. Probably against monsters like Hana and I. Although there is some time before the goddess arrives and the soldiers along with the king will be brainwashed"

!I have some new information, the king is due to arrive today in Welcia alone under a disguise. The best option is to talk with him. You may obtain valuable information!

"Hikaru, hello!"- Hana is waving her hand in front of my face. While conversing with Sia I was sitting in the bed staring at a wall of the cabin.

"Sorry. I discussed this with Sia. We should go to Welcia and buy some supplies for ourselves. These beds could use a change of bed sheets and new pillows. The frame of the bed doesn't look like it's going to hold much longer."- I got out of bed and squatted down to look at the bed frame. It's made out of wood and looks like it's about to crack. I don't know how our beds held this long.

"You do have a point. I wanted to buy new frames, pillow sheets, and a few blankets, along with cooking supplies."- Hana moved her hand to one of her pockets wanting to grab something, but there was nothing there.

"What did you want to grab?"- When we reincarnated here, none of the things that we had in our pockets came with us.

"I guess I am used to having either my phone or a small notebook to note things in case I forget them."- Hana moved her head to the right, looking at the door.

"We don't have those here, so we will get to get used to remembering what we need to buy"- This sounds rich coming from me. The guy who always forgets a lot.

"Well, you are right. Can you tell Sia to remind us if we forgot anything?"- Hana sat on her knees near her bed, she extended her right hand under the bed, grabbing one of the floorboards of the house. We had hidden the coins there in case someone decided to rob us.

!Understood. I will remind you if you forget any of the items that you want to buy today!

"Reminder is set. Now, let's go"

*Use skill: Lord of Dceit and Lies Lucifer*- I extended my left hand forward toward Hana. The 2 of us got enveloped in a strange light that kept changing colors. In a matter of seconds our appearance changed, how we looked now wasn't an important detail but we were more human.

"Looks good. Let's go!"- We walked out of the cabin, and we made sure to lock the door, well, we had no lock but we improvised something. Should hold against a few wolves and a group of humans. I use my ice mastery to create an ice barrier around the house. If you have a mastery-type skill you can use most if not all magic spells of that magic category.

We began to walk toward Welcia, our steps were quicker than the last time we were here. I am sure we improved, even if it's a small improvement I am still glad to see it

We arrived in Welcia city faster than we expected. The area seemed to have developed overnight. New shops and new market stalls. People are all around wanting to see what is new in the city, and laborers are hard at work in the city, making new buildings.

While the country itself isn't friendly to monsters, especially our races maybe we can still find some good people here that will accept us. I don't doubt that there will be brainwashing from the state and goddess Ifrit once she awakens. If you want to know more, I was a Demon and Hana was an Orc back when we first reincarnated, but we evolved soon enough. Orcs looked different than what I had seen from anime back home most orcs were described as having boar-like features, but I guess in this world they are different.

!The creatures you are thinking about are named are called Boar People, boar people are humanoid-like creatures with boarish features. Orcs have crocked horns on their heads, unlike demons which have straight and slightly curved horns.!

"Hey, Hana, what shop should we visit first, we have 5 gold coins so we should be able to afford some things here"- I looked at the 5 gold coins that the guild had given to us for the 5 quests, they paid us more for bringing more materials than they needed.

"Well, we should visit the tailor first, we have been wearing the same clothes for a long time so why not buy new ones"- She is right about this. I think 5 gold coins is a lot and maybe we will be able to afford more.

We moved closer to the entrance of the tailoring shop. We didn't expect the door to look this good. It's decorated with a wreath made out of different flowers and small tree branches, those are almost everywhere, they have a nice scent along with looking amazing.

Hana reached out her hand and opened the door to the tailoring shop. We entered the shop and we could see the shop owner, I bet he was no older than 17 or 18 as young as us. He wore a short-sleeved shirt with blue pants made out of a material that is similar to denim, blue eyes, and red hair he looked amazing, at least a lot better than me. He knew how to dress. The shop had clothes racks everywhere, and 4 giant flowers in every corner of the building. The walls are painted white with clothes painted over the white paint, the floor is made out of black stone tiles.

!The giant flowers are a type of rose that is similar to the ones found in your world but they grow in size and end up looking like a tree due to the high amounts of magic it absorbs from the air!

"Magic changes a lot of things, got it, Sia"

"What may I help you with?"- The moment the man looked at us he knew what we came to his shop for. We tried to keep it as clean as possible but that's not easy when you wear the same clothes every day.

"Well, we look for some cheap clothes that will look good on us"- Hana spoke first and then began to look at the clothes in the shop, shuffling them from time and trying some of them. She was also looking for clothes that would fit me. She has it with fashion or what clothes to buy better than me.

"What about you sir? I see you don't know how to choose clothes. I have something cheap and affordable for you 2, follow me"- We followed the man to a more private part of the shop.

"What is this?"- The private part of the shop was a small room, it looked like a workshop of sorts, it had needles, a loom, and other things that were used in sewing, things that I can't name because I don't know their names anymore. Clothes were everywhere in this section, aside from the tools, most clothes looked good. Hana began looking at the clothes, I glanced at them as well, from the looks of it, the clothes here are made out of leather with iron padding. Light enough to not notice but durable enough to resist 1 knife strike or a hit from a monster.

"They look good. They even have padding for protection, what do you say?"- Hana looked happy seeing the clothes. Come to think of it these clothes look a lot like the ones from our world. Maybe more people were reincarnated here before us who shared their knowledge

"Well, they sure look good. But how much do they cost?"- I raised my left hand to point at the clothes

"Well, 2 silver coins for everything you 2 want. 2 sets of clothing for each is 2 silver coins. I considered these models a failure since they didn't sell so I had no choice but to take them out. I am lucky you 2 bought some of them."- The man let out an infectious smile. From the looks of it, he is happy that he sold some of the clothes

"Sure. Let me inspect the clothes too. I wanna take a good look at them"- I only looked at them with the naked eye, but now I need to inspect them with Sia's help

"Sure, take a better look. Your girl didn't even let take a closer look."- He tried being sarcastic or to make a joke. Hana's cheeks turned red when he heard this. It's awkward when I hear this. On one hand, she is my sister, or at least this is how our parents raised us. I have to admit, I have a crush on her, but…. Why am I rambling like this? I won't matter too much anyway.

"Well, we will take them"- I gave the tailor 2 silver coins. Before leaving I glanced at the tailor, he was happy but looked at me with a glare, like he knew something wasn't right.

"Now, where should we go next?"- Hana looked around at the town, her attitude didn't change from what it was this morning.

"We need food remember, but to cook food we need pots and pans. We should go to a shop that sells kitchenware first and then we could go and finally buy the food. Might not be the smartest move but we can always buy some vegetables and spices and then gather or hunt for meat."- Hana glanced at me and then nodded. She didn't say anything while we were going to the kitchenware shop. The shop is close, right next to the tailoring shop so we just took a few steps to the left and here we were, at the door to the kitchenware shop, this time, the door didn't have any decoration, but there was a lot of decorations made out of wood that looked like the pots that you can find there. Those were hanging from the wall outside and on a small table placed by what I can guess was the shop owner outside to display some of the products.

Upon entering the kitchenware shop there were pans, pots, and other kitchenware everywhere, the floor was made out of white tiles, and the walls were made of wood painted black. Seems like most shops have black and white colors, or from what I see one of the colors is either white or black. I don't know the reason why don't they choose other colors over black and white but I can't complain

"Hello there. What brings you two here? Are you newlyweds that moved in? We get a lot more people moving in than in the old days of this village."- Behind the counter of the shop stood a middle-aged man, his face wrinkled. His clothes were plain and monochrome.

"Yes. What would you recommend for kitchenware? We are both cooks specializing in different recipes"- Hana moved in front of me and walked to the counter where the man stood.

"I get it. Traveling cooks. Rare to see people like you two. Do you have any plans to stay in this city for long?"- The man walked from behind the counter with slow but quiet steps.

He moved to one of the shop sections and pointed his hands at a group of pots, pans, and other utensils.

The kitchenware started to float after a few seconds and started moving toward us.

"Thank you sir."- My eyes darted toward Hana, her checks were red in what I can describe as embarrassment

I opened my inventory and began to place the pots in the grid-like inventory system that this world offered.

"That will be 8 silver coins"- The man walked behind the counter.

"Not going to lie, these look very good. If you made these all by yourself you have some mad talent"- I gave the man 8 silver, we are down to 4 gold and 90 silver. I secretly took a peek at the kitchenware and everything was indeed high-quality stuff.

"Do you know if there is a place where people can teach us skills or something similar?"- The man raised one of his eyebrows, his eye glancing directly at us.

"Do you mean skills as in crafts? Or skill like the one adventurers have?"- The man walked from behind the counter again and was standing near the door.

"The ones that adventurers have. We might find something useful for ourselves"- Hana stepped in front of me and started talking to the shop owner.

"Yes, there are scrolls that teach you skills here, these scrolls can teach you a skill instantly, even race-specific skill, but those are harder to master once you learn them tho. The shop is next to mine. Come on, I will show you"- The man opened the door and exited the shop with us.

I don't think we spent a long time in the shop. I don't know if my eyes are deceiving but this place seems more bustling than when we arrive. Chatter is everywhere making a defining cacophony of sounds. Stall as your eyes can see. Humans and Demi-Humans are roaming the streets freely.

I am surprised this city can be so alive.

"There is the shop"- The man pointed at a small shack decorated with all sorts of monster materials. Teeth, pelts, skins everything you can imagine.

"Thank you"- We waved the man goodbye

!I suggest you to buy the skills Analyst, Predation and Spatial Storage. I can combine these skills into the Legendary Skill Predator!

We entered the skill shop. Looking around in the shop we can see something peculiar. The décor there reminds me of Japan, but something isn't right. The placement of objects seems right for a Japanese shop but they look like they are from this world.

"Hello there. What can I get you?"- Behind the counter of this shop stood a tall woman with black hair dressed in black jeans with a black denim jacket. She looks young, around our age, or even a few years older.

"Hello there. We are looking for some skill scrolls. Do you have skills in analysis, Predation, and Spatial Storage? And I will also need a crafting-related skill, a more advanced one. I can only separate materials and reshape them, nothing more than that, I need something more advanced."

!I recommend getting Hana a shadow magic-based skill, I recommend getting the skill Insidious for her. It will evolve into Shadow Step and then into Shadow Walk and then Shadow Run, and then all the skills Spatial Movement and Godspeed will be made into the skill known as Shadow Frenzy!

"Ok, I have that skill, it is known as Skilled Craftsman. Any other skills? Wait for me until I bring them here"- The woman moved to a shelf, her hand moving along the scrolls, gently touching each of them like she was reading them without opening them. She stopped after walking a few steps and then she grabbed a scroll from one of the top shelves

"I want the skill Insidious as well."- The woman stopped in her tracks and turned back to the shelves

"Yes, I do have Insidious skill scroll, but why do you want that skill anyway? I can understand a crafting skill and the others like predation, but why Insidious?"- She looked at us, eyes wide.

Suddenly we hear the door opening, and a tall and muscular man dressed in plate armor and a cloak entered the shop

The presence of the individual Camon Wieka is detected 2 meters behind you!

"Well, I don't know how to put it. But we need some stealth ourselves while hunting monsters, we are low level and we don't want to get killed as easily"

"I see. That will be 15 gold and 50 silver"

"What?"- I looked at the woman there. The look on my face said it all. We lack the money to pay for the skills.

"I will pay for them."- The cloakman walked up to the counter and gave the woman 15 gold and 50 silver coins.

"Generous of you sir. Are they your friends?"- The woman gave us a wide smile.

"Yes. I need to discuss something with them quickly"- The man pointed to the outside of the shop.

I gave Hana her skill scroll. I opened mine while exiting the shop and learned the skills there and then

We walked with the man outside of the shop, I know who he is by now. He is King Wieka.

I checked to see if I can access spatial storage as a sub-skill, and it still works and is now bigger it's a 30x30 grid, I know that these start at around 10x15 in grid size. I already have my inventory but more storage is welcomed

"You 2. Better finish shopping and let's go back to where you 2 live. I have something important to tell you"- We nodded, from what I could tell this didn't sound like good news to me.

"We will go to buy some food and vegetables and return"- King Wieka nodded and walked with us near a big shop that had all sorts of spices near it. Most of them I don't know their names but some of them look familiar to spices from our old world.

!These are copies of the spices from your world but their looks have been altered in a minor way!

The shop is more lively than the other ones, the wall is painted red and the floor has green tiles, there are vegetables and some meat stored in ice made with ice magic, we already have meat, we need more veggies and spices.

"I can get all of the groceries for us. I know what to get. You can look around if you like anything else"- Hana walked to the counter and started talking to the person there. From what I can see the seller here is a kid, younger than us, he has visible muscles and is dressed in brown shorts and a short-sleeved t-shirt.

"Hi there. Looking for something for the lady? I suggest you get this. It's 1 silver piece a set, because of a special discount today."- Another person tapped my back. It was a girl that looked similar to the boy at the counter, maybe this was his mom or older sister. She walked in front of me and grabbed something out of the shelves, it was a set of coffee, tea, and sweets, the set had 20 tea sacks 20 coffee sacks, and 40 round candies in it. The way that the coffee and tea were packaged wasn't the best but

"I would like to buy coffee and tea with different aromas or tastes. She likes mostly aromatic teas."- I leaned in to whisper to the other shop employee

"Ok. It will be 5 silver. I have a special bundle at a discount. I am going to warn you, it contains a lot."- I gave them 5 silver and they brought over the coffee and the teas. I miss teas from my world and Hana likes to drink them regularly.

Hana walked toward me with 3 bags full of groceries.

"Hikaru, these are 20 silver coins"- I gave the 20 silver coins to the same person. They nodded their head.

"Well, we should hurry. We need to meet with him"- Hana slowly nodded and then we exited the shop.

King Wieka is outside of the shop, looking at us.

"Finally. I can talk to the 2 of you. Let's go somewhere more private"- He raised his hand and signaled us to follow him.

We went into the forest near Welcia. He lowered his hood and looked at us, his eyes looking bloodshot.

"I am going to make this quick. Goddess Ifrit is reviving faster than I first thought. I am here to give you a warning that in a short amount of time guards might be deployed in your area if she revives. Before that, I want to wipe all my memories of you 2 from my brain. It took me a long time to even sense the 2 of you. I stumbled upon you 2 by chance at that shop and I just guessed. I want to give you some gold before this and also a mission, something to do before you can become demon lords"- King Wieka's breath starts to become heavy. His body looks stiff.

"What is it? We will try but we can't guarantee anything. We aren't strong enough yet"

"I understand. But here is what you have to do. First get strong, stronger than me. The 2nd thing I want you 2 to do is to take out the corrupt lords of this country, Ikrel and Welcia. Lord Ikrel's son is also hand in hand with him. Eliminate or jail or do anything to get rid of them. Second is the kingdom of Admaris, you should go there. King Admaris might still be safe from Goddess Ifrit's control. There the lords might be more forgiving. And at last, there is a person I would like you to meet at all costs. There is an organization that had been declared a danger, all to keep up the facade that I hate monsters. The leader is a woman of the organization named The Plundering, her name is Ayame. I will send her a message to help her you 2. I also ask 1 thing. Lord Welcia has a very ill daughter, if you have any way to cure her, then I think you will be doing good."- After the long talk, King Wieka looks exhausted, sweat trickling down his face.

"We understand. We don't have any choice in this. I wish things would have been different"

"I understand how you feel Hikaru. But I have nothing to do. If you can find your nation of monsters, a nation where monsters and humans can live. I will talk with a few trusted people here to help you on your journey. That's all I have to say."- King Wieka turned his back and looked at us one more time before he put his cloak back on and left.
