Plot of the local lord (3)

The next day:

Hana and I have gotten some rest, but we are in dire need of making a move on the local lord, if we continue like this we might end up dead or worse.

"Hikaru, what do you think we should do next, it's about the house, doesn't it seem a little cramped?"- I looked around the house, it isn't cramped really, but it's barely enough for 2 people, maybe more storage options will be good.

"I don't get what you are saying, Hana. It's good enough for 2 people, we do lack storage for other items, and my Spatial Storage is already getting pretty cramped"

"You aren't getting it. I mean we need more comfort here. Don't you think the beds are too rough to sleep on or the windows let in too much cold when it's night, I mean, yes we are monsters and we aren't really affected by these conditions but still"

I took a look at the beds and the windows, Hana is right, we should invest in this house a little more since we are staying here for a long time.

"Well, let's go to Welcia and go to one of the shops there and try to get some items from there. I set the windows myself using Predator and Sia. Are there any other things we should change in our house."- Looking around again I can see the wood deteriorating, we need some substance that will stop wood decay, I don't remember what is it called.

"Yes, the wood and the flooring, we need new wood and flooring"- Well that's a lot.

"We need to get to Welcia quickly then. We need to buy a lot of things"- I and Hana got going to Welcia city.

The city had another atmosphere to it this time around, it felt more dead, more monotone than before, well before the town had the atmosphere of a typical medieval city.

"Hikaru, I have a bad feeling about this. We need to be careful"- Hana drew her katana and looked around, I couldn't see anything either.

I prepared my shadow tendrils in a defensive formation around me.

"Whoever you are, show yourself!"- There is another strange thing, on the streets there is no one to be seen, it's already high noon and no one is present.

We walked to one of the shops, to the blacksmith.

We entered the shop and the shopkeeper was surprised to see us.

"What brings you 2 here at a time like this?"- He looked at us in shock, as if no one was supposed to be there.

"What do you mean?"- I was ready to attack with my shadow tendrils. The man looked at us 1 more time, it looks like he is holding something behind the counter where we can't see it.

"Well, the local lord had decreed lockdown on this whole town to find the 2 of you, he sent his strongest guards after the 2 of you. You 2 better leave kids, those guards are very strong."- The man pointed to the door.

"Fine, we will leave"- we left and we are out in the open again.

What are we going to do now?

"Since all the shops are closed why not return home?"- I looked around again, I can feel someone watching us

!Affirmative, someone is indeed watching you, there are 2 people, male, and female, that's all the information I can gather!- Sia finally decided to speak

"Well, it will be more likely that they will follow us. Sia, make sure to announce me when they get closer"

!Affirmative!

The tension can be felt in the air. I am not turning my head around to look, that will give it away that we are onto them and know where they are.

!The 2 people got ahead of you and are now near your cabin, that's the furthest distance I can detect them it!- Fuck, they realized that we are living in the cabin, someone must have tipped them off because I don't know who in the hell will find this cabin right here in the middle of nowhere.

"Hana, please be careful. You know what Sia said, I suggest you at least have your sword ready to be drawn when needed"

I communicate with Hana exclusively through telepathy right now, verbal speech had become deprecated for us since we have skills that will do that same thing but better

"I suggest you 2 stop right there, we just want to talk with you 2"- When we arrived at the cabin we can hear a woman's voice speak.

We stopped and saw the man and the woman that Sia warned us about.

"So, you 2 are the guards that are after us huh?"- I stepped in front of Hana, I made the 2 of them immobile using my shadow tendrils, they didn't notice it yet.

"Yes, exactly, I want the 2 of you to introduce yourselves to us"- They tried to move toward us but they notice they can't move.

"What is this magic?"- They tried to move again but with no luck.

"I cast that just to make sure that if any of you try anything funny we will have the upper hand"- I replied.

"Fine, just get the introduction over with"- The 2 of them said in a calm tone.

"I am Hikaru Tanaka"

"I am Hana Tamura"- The 2 people looked at Hana bewildered.

"Tamura you say?"- They paused for a second and they dropped to their knees.

"We are sorry"

"You 2 better be. What in the hell have the 2 of us done to you people to deserve to be hunted?"- I itched closer to the woman.

"It's a long story and you may not believe it, but we are Hana's parents, the real ones that vanished from the real world"- The 2 of the said in a sad tone.

"Mom, Dad?"- Hana wanted to come closer to them, but I stopped her, what if they are lying?

"Sia?"

!Negative, they are telling the truth, I matched both them and Hana and it's a 100% match for each of them, they are her real parents Hikaru!

After Sia said this I got out of the way and let Hana talk with her long lost parents.

We went into the cabin afterward.

"Again, I am sorry Hikaru. And thank you for taking care of Hana"

"Hana can take care of herself, strength in numbers. I did help her but most of the growth she has experienced is because of her efforts"- I am sitting at the table, legs crossed and looking out of the window.

"You praise me too much Hikaru. Without your skills I would have been in a much worse position by now"- Hana took a seat in the middle, between me and her mother.

"Without you, this house, and even the food will be much worse"- I replied.

"I am happy to see the 2 of you get along so well. I will begin to tell the story of how I and your father ended up in this place. I will let him start"- Hana's mother pointed toward her father.

"Well, where to begin, the short version is that you were just born and we were mugged in the street, we were killed during that time, and in our last moments on earth we asked to be reincarnated here. We received some skills to help us develop, I think each one of us has 1 legendary skill. How did the 2 of you end up here?"- Her father looked towards me.

"Well, it's my fault that we ended up here. In my life back in Japan I had paranoid schizophrenia, I hated my life, I hated the illness and what it made me do, so one day at school after I had a psychotic episode I decided to jump off the roof, Hana followed, she tried to stop me from falling down but in the end, the 2 of us died and got reincarnated hee as monsters. We received 2 Primordial skills and 3 random skills, 5 in total. We woke up in the same summoning circle as our class was, the moment we died our whole class was summoned here to fight a war with demons."

There was a minute of silence before Hana's mother looked at me with anger.

She tried to slap me but Hana caught her hand in time.

"Mom, it's not needed. I've already been over this with him a million times."

Things got awkward from there and then they left.

"We will report nothing to the lord, we will come tomorrow, I hope you have the plan to deal with the lord before he deals with you 2"- That's the last thing they said before leaving.
