Insecurities Hikaru(1)

4 years ago, Tokyo, Japan. (Everything is told via flashback)"Hikaru, how are you?"- Hana asked me in a playful tone. We are living in our house in Tokyo with our parents, well it's more complicated for Hana, she is staying with us because her parents are gone to another country, or so my parents told me. From what I know they are very best friends with each other and they agreed to take Hana under our care.

"Well, I am good"- I can see something behind Hana, I don't know exactly what that was but it didn't scare me, it was something of a distorted shape, it is humanoid but nothing more I can make of it.

I can hear pounding coming from upstairs.

"That's good"- Hana looked at me strangely, I was looking up from where I heard the sounds, the attic.

"I can hear something from the attic, want to come and check it out?"- I got up from the place I was seated.

Hana followed me to the attic, once we opened the door we saw that there was nothing there, strange, maybe it was a cat or something, but how did a cat get in here?

To me that's daily life, I sometimes see things and shapes nobody can hear things that nobody else hears, it's strange.

Memory in the doctor's office:

"So, your child, these things may be the result of an overactive imagination, he is 14 but he may still have that little kid imagination still, which is a good thing"- The doctor was nervous, so she prescribed me some medicine when I got out of the chair and looked around I can see the wall closing in onto me, I sat down in panicked. What was happening, why were the walls moving so suddenly?

"Hikaru, what happened?"- My mom walked near me, looking at me with sadness.

"The walls, I swear they started to move on their own"- My mom looked around and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

"There is nothing to be afraid of, walls don't move"- My dad reassured me.

"Thanks, you miss doctor"- I didn't know her name, I kept calling her miss doctor but oh well.

Back in the real world:

I didn't know what happened back then nor now, or what the shape behind Hana or what it was, I don't even know how to word things right.

"Hikaru, don't be sad, I am sure it was just a cat"- We are still at the attic door looking around to see what was there to see, I don't know what we are looking for exactly but certain is something that makes either a pounding noise or a thumping noise, that's what I have heard a few minutes ago.

"Well, yeah, let's get down from here, Mom and Dad will be back shortly and we need to get ready for dinner"

Mom and Dad arrived shortly after, they were out working all day today and they still have time to cook food for us.

We are now having dinner. I am sitting at the table and I can feel someone touching me, a hand of some sort, I turn around and there is no one.

"Hana, did you touch me? I felt someone touch me just a few moments ago"- My parents looked at me nervously, it was like they are hiding something and they don't know what to say about it, I don't know either, what it might be that I have that makes me see all of these things that I see?

"It's nothing, Hikaru, I want you to focus on eating right now ok? You might be bewildered to as it's happening right now but you shouldn't worry, the doctor said that things will get better for you if you are taking your medication daily"- My mom smiled at us, she wants to let some tension off but it doesn't work with me, it's not that easy.

"Yes Mom, but... things like these are what is stopping me in my day-to-day life, it's pretty bad already and I don't even know what I have. Can you please at least tell me, I know you 2 were talking to the medic in private? I want to know what my affliction is!"

"We don't want to talk about it with you. You are still young and we don't know how to tell you"- My dad said these words very fast

"I am finished. I will be going to my room"- I finished my food and I had gone to my room.

"Hikaru, why are you so mad at your mom and dad"- Hana walked near me and patted my head

"I don't know Hana. I don't know, I want to know what exactly I have, why I have to take meds for such a long amount of time, the doctors say it's imagination, but I don't believe them, I had been seeing them for a long time and still no answer to this day!"- I was angry in that moment, angry at everyone, including Hana.

"It's ok Hikaru"- Hana comforted me by hugging me.

"What shall we do next?"

Yes, what shall I do next?

In the isekai world:

"Sia, why did you have to show things like that to Hana again?"- I ask her angry at her for what she has done.

!The answer is simple, stop being insecure, these things are far smaller than you make them out to be Hikaru, it's not that big of a deal when things like that happen, you know, you can benefit from some self-confidence from time to time Hikaru!- Sia's tone wasn't mocking but more protective and motherly this time.

"Hana, what shall we do tomorrow? About the lord and stuff, shall we let ourselves get caught this early or shall we wait for a little more time?"- I am near Hana, trying to see what she will say, she already heard me talk to Sia.

"Just get some rest Hikaru, you can benefit from it greatly. I will be on the lookout and we will switch when one of us gets tired ok?"- Hana smiled and I returned to sleep.
