five thousand, that was the number of deaths this invasion brought

1250 suna and oto nins, mostly gennins and some chunnins

750 konoha ninjas, varying from gennin to chunnin, no jonin died

1000 civilians from konoha

and 2000 unrelated people, who were there either representing their own village or to spectate the chunnin exams

5000 Total deaths...

Overall, even though Konoha didn't lose any high level ninjas, this event was still catastrophic, even more so economically, the village not only had a LOT if property damage, it also lost credibility with the villages who lost people, the only good thing about this is that Suna took most of the blame

"Hokage-sama, here are the reports on property damage" One ninja entered Hiruzen's office with a pile of paper in hand

"I see... put it over there" Hiruzen answered as he kept reading the report on deaths

"Hokage-sama, here is the requests for compensation from the villages that lost people during the invasion" Another ninia said, as he too barged in with a big pile of paper

"Sigh... I guess that is unavoidable, huh? place it with the other reports" Hiruzen sighed, this time the village would have to bleed to stabilize itself and regain the trust of the other villages back...

"Hokage-sama..."

And just like that, one after the other, ninjas kept bringing Hiruzen one report after the other, until

"Hokage-sama, here is a request from Danzo-sama!" One ninja gave Hiruzen a paper filled with some bs requests

Hiruzen didn't even look at the paper and with one hand seal, burned it to dust

"Okay, I almost forgot about him, Tell Danzo to come here immediately" Hiruzen said with anger evident on his voice

He didn't care if Danzo did shady things to grow his root organization, but there is a limit he can tolerate

This limit is: right about anything really, but the only thing Danzo should do in return to Hiruzen's blind eye is protecting the village when needed

Danzo and his root were not only not helping the village, but Hiruzen saw reports from more than 5 jonins that his root agents tried to capture their students, and that included, Shizue, Kakashi, Asuma, Kurenai and Guy, which meant that Danzo made a move on both the two last uchihas, and that gave Hiruzen a scare, what if Itachi came to know about this?

but not only them, he also made moves on other CLAN HEIRS! Hiruzen had enough, and if Danzo didn't give him a proper explanation today, he was in for a bad time

Konoha's hospital

the place was completely full, but one thing people could only look for in awe was a little girl with incredible medical skills helping out whoever she could

That girl was Kaede, but you may be wondering, why is she doing this? simple, really

After Kaede woke up she asked Shizue about her 'bijuu' killing attack, and Shizue told her about spirits

On this AU, there are 3 ways that someone can get the powers of the spirits:

1 - You need to have a perfect affinity for their element, like Shizue had one for fire, and then a spirit of that element would 'bless' you

2 - you had to make a deal with the spirit, normally the spirits only talk with people of high karmic value, so that is what Kaede was trying to get right now

It also wouldn't hurt to have a good reputation, right?

3 - lastly, you could earn the appreciation of a spirit, but that method is completely unreliable, as no one knows what that means

There is also the option to absorb a spirit with a skill like [Natural predator] or [Gluttony] but only Kaede has such skills

and another problem with that is, no one can find spirits, they need to appear by themselves

so the only way for Kaede to absorb a spirit, would be killing someone with one, or attracting a spirit and absorbing it

Taking a break, Kaede went back home 'exhausted' while internally, she was grinning madly. Being in physical contact with the people she healed, also made it possible to scan their abilities, acquiring skills

acquiring skills that way cannot give her new unique skills, as their 'users' are still alive, but anything below that? easy! and so Kaede got some new skills:

[Puppeteer] from some suna nin, as they also were getting healed, after all Hiruzen is too soft and Suna only needed to say: "It was Orochimaru's fault!" for him to treat them better than his own citizens... sigh~

[Necromancer] She got that from one from Kin, who would have thought that she was going to be useful, huh? it us a extra skill, and can revive dead bodies into zombie like servants, it is probably derivates from edo tensei

The downside is, this 'zombies' are weaker than a civilian, and Kaede had no use for this skill... yet

[Hive] a [Food chain] like skill, she got it from a Aburame, this skill is basically food chain but a lot weaker, tough it is incredibly promising, Kaede only needs to evolve it and her subordinates will become very strong, also, if she evolves this skill she will be able to get the variant skills her subordinates got from her as well, and skills like [Blink] are very tempting

[Limit breaker] She got that one from healing Lee.

This skill give the ability to break your physical limits, not very useful for a slime, but like [Shedding] this skill can grant insane advantages for her subordinates

[Talent] Kaede got this from Neji, which can only say so much about him, to lose to Naruto having enough talent to awaken such skill? oh boy, what a humiliating defeat, huh?

This skill isn't very helpful at the current level, as a Unique skill it helps acquiring new skills, but at the current Extra skill level, it only helps learning things faster, and for someone with [Great sage] this is basically irrelevant.

BUT! This skill is lie [Domain], it can fuse into other skills and won't be lost in the process... though it has high requirements for fusing, like some VERY specific skills... well, you can't complain about such a good skill, right?

Kaede also got some new resistances, they are:

[Heat resistance] suna nins live in a desert after all, right?

[Physical attack resistance] From Lee and his powerful physical resistance

[Pain nullification] One thing Kaede should have had as a slime, but didn't have yet because of using a human body for too long

(Actually, I forgot... sorry)

[Thermal fluctuation resistance] fusion of cold and heat resistances

Kaede only fused her resistances automatically, but she made [Great sage] not fuse her new skills, as that could use a lot of chakra, and having high chakra fluctuations in a crowded place isn't a very good idea

[Lightning resistance] One of the ninjas who fought with Kakashi and was lucky to survive gave Kaede this skill

[Flame resistance] Poor enemies of Shizue, some of them only had their ash remaining... but hey, at least they gave Kaede a new skill, no?

[Water resistance] this one... apparently Lee is resistant against water, Kaede thinks it is because he may train like Shuryu did, under a waterfall. Because that is the only explanation she could come up with!

[Earth resistance] well, this one is easily because of the victims of 'Shukaku'

[Wind resistance] as the main element used by Suna, this was to be expected

[Elemental resistance] fusion of water, flame, earth, wind and lightning resistances, great for almost any fight! almost, that is

Anyway, now that Kaede was back home, It is time... to FUSE SKILLS AGAIN! Yay!

(Be warned! Kaede is getting more overpowered by the day!)

Kaede would be gaping at the mew skills if she didn't feel a pang of pain on her entire body, it only lasted for about 5 seconds but that was a whole lot more than what she ever experienced during this life

"What... was.... that?" She asked between heavy breaths

There are two methods to remove the soul strain

1 - acquire any soul strengthening skills

'Uh... how can evolving help? and how can I do that? does demon lord evolution counts?'

Evolutions are not only physical, they affect both mind, body and soul

The only know evolutions of slime and the requirements for them are

Demon slime - through a harvest festival

Ultimate slime - being born and bathed into a true dragon energy, having a compatible body and soul and by any means acquiring a true dragon's essence

Any other form of evolution is unknown as slimes that can evolve are rare>

'... damn it, so I need to create a new evolution branch? that is completely insane!

Any way Sage, how do I even get a demon lord seed? there are no demon lords on this world after all...'

The oldest demon lord has been on this world for about 1000 years, the youngest one has around 100 years of age

Currently, it is unknown what the demon lords are doing.

Above the demon lords there are still the 9 bijuus, the shinju and the 5 great dragons

Above the great dragons we have the 2 True dragons>

Kaede blinked twice before she comprehended what [Great sage] told her

'S-Sage? dragons? explain their levels at least' She asked, feeling a growing headache, and she can't even physically feel a headache, that has to mean something

Dragons have 4 know variants

Wyrm - A snake like dragon, can fly and is the weakest form of a dragon

Wyvern - Infant dragons, evolved form of wyrm

Dragon - The adult version of a Wyvern, normally dragons have around 500 years of age, their lifespan is unknown as no dragon has ever died of old age

Great dragon - the final evolution of a dragon, 5 times stronger than a dragon

Dragon sage - Unique evolution that only one dragon achieved

True dragon - Dragons created by Veldanava, in the current world there are 2, they have no possibility of ever evolving>

'Wait... This dragon sage... is there a summon realm with dragons?' Kaede logically deducted

'aw man, And I wanted to have a dragon summon... you can't have everything I guess...' Kaede thought disappointed

While she had many things to think about, like her new skills, her soul problem, her future evolution that is unknown and the possible dangers of demon lords and dragons

Hiruzen had an idea to run from his paperwo-*Cough* to honor the people that died during the invasion and bring the morale of the village back

He decided to make a festival.

And step down from the hokage position right after, because he was done with it
