Chapter 21 : Recovery

A few days later,

As Diana walked step by step through a certain military base, one of the two guards who were following her couldn't help but speak up.

"Lady Diana, do you want to rest, we can continue after you recover somewhat," said the guard as he looked at Diana who was slightly panting after having walked several hundred meters.

Hearing this, Diana, who looked no different from usual, couldn't help but clench her teeth.

"It's nothing, I can continue," said Diana as she turned her gaze to the guard, causing the latter to slight shiver before nodding.

As such, the group of three slowly but surely continued walking through the military base without any hurry, and eventually, after around 3 minutes of walking, the three arrived at a certain door.

The moment Diana was about five meters away from the door, one of the two guards suddenly went forward and opened the door, at the same time, the other guard placed himself on the left side of the door as Diana walked into the room alone.

Rather funnily enough, the first thing Diana did the moment she walked into the room was sit on a chair and begin resting.

Of course, Diana did not just waste time as she rested, rather, she picked up a report that had been placed next to the chair and began reading it.

After a few moments, Diana faintly smiled.

"The dagger is slowly losing its lethality as time passes? So I guess it's not a permanent item," mumbled Diana as she read the report.

Just yesterday Diana had ordered the research on that dagger to begin, and not even a few hours after that, she then obtained the first results.

Just like Diana had already expected, the moment the dagger touched any living thing, be it plant, animal, or human, that being would then begin dying.

Of course, as one might expect, physically, the dagger was no different from any other dagger, in fact, Ivan considered it rather shoddily made in fact.

This of course meant that the dagger was the work of some stand user, which Diana had already predicted.

Now, though, after an entire day of research, it had been discovered that the dagger was slowly but surely losing its potency.

Although Diana did not yet know if this was a positive or negative thing, but the one thing she had known was that having more insight into an enemy stand user was always useful.

After all, if Diana could find the weakness of that dagger, and could perhaps create a weapon of defense to fight against it, that stand user would then be helpless before her.

Suddenly, though, Diana heard a knock on the door, causing her to turn her attention over there instead.

"You can come in," said Diana, causing the door to suddenly open, and allow a somewhat nervous Haru to walk into the room.

The moment Haru walked into the room, the door behind her suddenly closed, leaving the two women all alone inside the room.

As she had been walking through the corridors of the military base, some irrational thoughts, like taking advantage of the weakened Lady Diana to escape, had passed through Haru's mind, but as she looked at Lady Diana, who was sitting in her seat with no particular expression on her, those thoughts were wiped away from her mind.

Unlike yesterday and the day before that, when Diana looked extremely weak and vulnerable, at the moment Lady Diana seemed different from before, Haru suddenly felt a chill in her heart, causing her to freeze for a brief moment.

"You shouldn't be scared, I'm not so unreasonable to just punish you for some thoughts," said Diana as she slowly got up from the ground, making Haru snap back to reality and remember just how wounded lady Diana was back then.

Even yesterday, after having been healed by both Haru, and her own innate healing powers for nearly an entire day, Diana's state would kill any normal human being one hundred times over.

But compared to a few days ago, when Lady Diana had been first brought back from her assassination attempt, all of this was child play.

Back then, 80 percent of Diana's muscles were torn apart, as over fifty percent of the bones in her body were broken.

At the same time, Diana also had several large cracks present in her heart, while her lungs had been nearly completely destroyed.

But even so, for some godforsaken reason, Diana survived and reached Haru for healing.

No, even if she did not have her to heal her, Haru could feel that Lady Diana knew that she would not die.

Of course, the reason for this unnatural confidence was the fact that Diana's wounds were not primarily caused by the assassins.

Of course, the explosion caused some of them, but the worst injuries she had were caused by her own stand, which she had pushed far beyond any sort of limit.

Back when she had first acquired her stand, after practicing using it for a bit, Diana was able to speed herself up over 7 times without causing injuries to herself if she did not hold that state for long.

But after fighting a life and death battle against Jotaro, and pushing herself to the limit, Diana was able to go beyond her previous self and speed herself up 8 times without harming herself too much.

Well, in this battle, Diana doubled the limit she had placed on herself and pushed herself to the absolute limit, reaching over 16 times her normal speed and nearly killing herself in the process.

But of course, as could be seen right now, this did not kill Diana, and allowed her to survive the assassination.

A moment later, Haru walked up to Diana as her stand appeared behind her, knowing that she no longer had any chance of escaping, as by now, Lady Diana seemed to have become even more frightening than before.
