Chapter 4: knowing more of the mechanics

Ryo laid there for half an hour to rest his body, the wounds that he received have stopped bleeding and the wounds that were not that large or deep are slowly healing on their own.

"ugh~, how long have I been out cold. " Ryo asked as he slowly sit right up, the wounds on his left arm still stings but not that painful anymore.

[ You've been sleeping for half an hour, master ]

Ryo made an 'oh' Sound and checked his arm now covered with dried up blood, he flinched when he tried to move his arm.

[master, does your arm still hurt?.]

" nah, its just , it's hard to move it that's all. "

[ Then please drink that rare health potion you received as a reward. ]

" rare health potion? where?"

[ it's right in front of you. ]

Ryo look in front of him and there were three items, a potion, a plain silver ring, and 1 gold coin. He will asked what the other items are, but first he need to get rid of this nagging pain first. He grabbed the potion and open the cork with his teeth, he spit out the cork and started drinking the potion, the taste was not that bitter and not that bland.

" huhf, that didn't taste good, but a great medicine don't need to taste good to work." Ryo's injured arm was healing at a great pace, this kind of wounds would take a month to heal even with Ryo's biology it can still take a week to heal with out any treatments. What's left of the wound was a white-ish scar, Ryo looked at the scars and started to trace his fingers on the scar with a content smile.

[ master, does the scar bother you? ]

" no it doesn't bother me the slightest bit, plus chicks dig scars." Ryo smiled at his own words, then switch his attention to the two remaining items, Ryo picked up the items and inspect it.

" systems "

[ Yes, master]

" What are this items "

[ why don't you use appraise to see for yourself master. ]

" ohh yeah, I have that skill, hehehe, sorry " Ryo chuckled at his embarrassment and used appraise on the two items.

"huh?, a space ring, does that mean I can store things with it. " Ryo asked the system as he inspect the ring, trying to find something.

[ Yes master, you can try storing the gold coin, also some things like the gold coin, it can stack with each other so you don't have to worry about wasting space each time you store one thing at a time, but each slot have around 100 stack limit. But keep this in mind, you can't store things that are alive, or another space ring and also this is just a common space ring so food can still rot while inside the ring. ]

Ryo nodded at the explanation of the system then tried storing the gold coin, the coin disappeared from his hand, Ryo then summon the gold coin and re-appear on his hand again and then store the gold coin back, Ryo was impressed by this, but was unhappy that he can't store organic things for a long time because it will rot, so that means he can't store the Raptor's body to try and sell it if he stumble upon a village or town that buy monster corpse.

With a heavy sigh he turned his back at the Raptor's corpse, and slowly walk towards the river to bathe in it, his shirt and arms are still covered by blood so he took all of his clothes off and started to wash them on the river. After washing all of his clothing he put it on some rocks to dry, after doing all of this, he finally put his body in the river, the cold water soothed his overworked body.

" fuuuhh~, this is great, cold, but great. " Ryo was now finally relaxed after that battle and near death experience.

[ Master do you want to add your stat points now. ]

" huh?, oh yeah I've leveled up multiple times, I bet my stats are stronger than before. Okay system, show me my stats." a blue panel pop up in front of him showing him his current stats, Ryo was surprised that he gained this much level and stat points, he knows that he will gain a lot after that battle but he didn't thought that he will gain this much. And there are also a few more additions in the panel.

"hmm, I just learned a new skill, is that why my intelligence increased. Okay, I'll just add 10 stat points on each Strength, vitality, and Dexterity." After adding the stat points he asked another question about the new addition of the panel.

" Hey system, what is the kill point thing."

[ The kill points are used to buy items at the systems store. ]

" Wait, there's a store function in the system?, score!. can you open the store now. " Ryo was excited that there's a store function, because there are a lot of overpowered items that is going to help him, but he became dejected after the system told him.

[ Sorry master but its still locked, you need to at least obtain 10,000 kill points to unlock the store function. ]

" Whaaat~, I still need to buy the store function. "

[ No master, you just needed to obtain 10,000 kill points, it's the requirement. ]

" *sigh*, I guess I need to grind for a couple of days. Do I have anymore task available? " Ryo asked when he noticed the Task button.

[ Will yes master, just press the tasked button and you'll see some task that suet your current lvl. ]

Ryo pressed the button and there was just one task, will two if you count the task thats just full of question mark.

" huh, why is this task just a question marks. "

[ Sorry master but that task need a certain requirement to know this task. ]

" What!? even task need requirements, maybe I'll just need to get stronger to unlock this task, I hope it's worth it. Okay, I'll accept the second task instead. " The second task was just easy to complete, but the annoying part is just needed to hunt the right monster.

Slay 25 lvl 5 monters or above, there is no time limit for this task and you'll be rewarded with 25,000 Exp, 25,000 Kp, 25 gold coins, and a random dagger.

" But didn't I already killed one lvl 10 monster already, why isn't it registered. "

[ You did slay one, but that was already put on the task of 'Slaying your first monster'. ]

[ Will, it can be auto accept if you already completed it, so that you won't waste more time to do it again. ]

" Will, that's convenient. "

Ryo stayed in the river for a couple more minutes, till the sun is in the middle of the sky, indicating it's noon already. Ryo picked up all of his clothes it was a bit wet but he still wore it, he attached the knife on his side and wore the space ring.

' okay then, this is the start of my journey, heh. ' Ryo inhaled and exhaled to calm his excited heart, he started to walk alongside the river so that he will have easy access to water if his thirsty, he just hope that the river water is drinkable.
