A Great Matchup! Abigail Vs Johnathan

"In a battle where the light and the darkness meet, who will prevail!? A very interesting matchup indeed!" Ford exclaimed as both Abigail and Johnathan smiled staring at each other, the Nilecrest kingdom and the Ronowa empire has been rivals with each other over the past decade.

The thirst for supremacy had driven these two great kingdoms to their peak, training and creating one of the best Essen-knights and Essen-mages the world has ever seen.

Originally, the Essenmages exams were to be taken by citizens in their respective kingdoms. But given the high rate of the Paradoxes invasion, it was decided by the UKA; an acronym which stands for the "United Kingdom Alliance" that the exams were to hold in the most secured location as possible to prevent any casualties.

Given the constant rate in which the paradoxes attempted to invade the Nilecrest kingdom, the Ronowa empire was chosen as the most suitable place for the exams to hold.

"The ultimate dilemma, Prince Johnathan who is renowned as the dark mage of the Nilecrest as a result of his shadow prowess versus Princess Abigail of the Ronowa Empire. A woman who is referred to as a beast that surpasses human understanding as a result of the immense strength she acquired in the course of living in nature." Selena spoke with both her arms crossed.

"A beast that surpasses human understanding huh." Rai muttered, a sudden rush of uneasiness flowed through him. He remembered her words about meeting with him real soon and given the boasts about her abilities, it now seemed like a warning.

"It should be an interesting match, it's the first time I've gotten to see a royal battle head on. It's exciting." Selena said, feeling a rush of anxiety.

"Yeah...I guess." Rai replied as all eyes were fixated on the arena.

"The rules are simple, the only way to win is to defeat your opponent by either knockout or they surrender! If you kill your opponent, you will be disqualified." Ford stated.

"Princess Abigail, it is truly an honor to meet y-"

BOOM!

An explosive force which was generated by the right leg of Abigail propelled her forward towards Johnathan swiftly. She appeared behind him and aimed a punch at his back.

"And here we go! The match is underway and the princess wastes no time in taking the fight to the prince!" Ford exclaimed.

A large shockwave was emitted from the middle of the arena which caused dust to arise and engulf both of them.

"Oh my oh my." Johnathan said as the dust settled down, he was seen holding the right fist of Abigail who smirked seeing as he was able to read her movements.

"And here I was trying to be gentle and respectful because your a lady." Johnathan sighed.

"And here I was assuming you were weak, at least now I know you can put up a fight!" She exclaimed.

Abigail swiftly perfomed a roundhouse kick at the face of Johnathan. Using the right fist of Abigail that he held, he blocked the incoming kick and threw her backwards. Not planning to give her any space to breathe, Johnathan cloaked his hands with his dark essence which manifested into a shadow like gauntlet with sharp claws and dashed at her.

"Dark essence: Shadow Claws!" He exclaimed as he attempted to strike her stomach and leave a fatal wound on her which would be enough to secure him a win.

Utilizing her quick reflexes, she landed on her two hands and immediately threw herself over the head of Johnathan who couldn't control the speed he used.

"How basic!" She exclaimed as she drew her sword out instantly and propelled herself at him whilst aiming a slash at his back. Johnathan quickly deflected her blade with his sharp claws and both of them began exchanging several slashes which they both deflected creating a series of sparks which flew out in different direction.

Attempting to exploit an opening, Abigail aimed her blade at the side of his neck which prompted him to crouch in order to evade the blade.

Just as he thought he finally found an opening, Abigail sent her left knee into the nose of Johnathan and pushed him backwards. As he became unbalanced, she swiftly executed an underleg sweep which took him off his feet.

Light particles surrounded the right hand of Abigail illuminating her entire arm.

"Light Essence: Light Nexus!" She swiftly aimed her illuminating fist at the abdomen of Johnathan. As an act of self defense, he placed his right dark claw in front of him in order to shield his mid-section.

As her fist connected with his claws, he was propelled all the way backwards due to her immense strength and essence. Even his dark claw were shattered in the process of blocking her attack.

"Oh snap! The princess launches a counteroffensive tossing the prince of Nilecrest around like a ragdoll!" Ford exclaimed acting as a commentary for the match.

"I'm not done yet!" She exclaimed.

Veins popped out of her legs as the ground shattered from the pressure she applied to it with her foot, she dashed forward utilizing her unbelievable speed and appeared at the back of Johnathan who was yet to land. She threw another light nexus at his back which caused him to spit out blood as he was propelled forward once again.

She repeated this motion several times, using him as some sort of ball going back and forth until she eventually jumped a bit above him and aimed a precise kick at his abdomen.

"RAHHH!" Selena let out a loud battle cry as she smashed him into the ground with sheer force which caused it to shatter on impact. A crater five meters deep and a cloud of dust was the result of her brutish assaults on prince Johnathan.

An uproar arose as everyone cheered on the princess who took the fight to Johnathan.

"Jonathan's down! Is this the end for him!? Or will the dark mage of the Nilecrest perform one of the most prestigious comeback!?" Ford proclaimed yet again.

Abigail stood her ground, maintaining a good distance away from Johnathan to determine the next best course of action.

As the dust settled, a black mass which took the form of black wings was spotted floating above Johnathan. Half of his body was cloaked with his dark essence which manifested as some sort of armor in the form of a beast.

Johnathan laughed as his dark essence slowly engulfed his whole body. "I never expected I'd end up using this form this early into a fight. Behold and witness my greatest form as it will be the last thing you'll ever see " Johnathan uttered softly.

"It can't be! I-is that!?" Ford exclaimed as everyone was left flustered by what they laid their eyes upon.

"Dark essence: Dark Phoenix King mode.." Johnathan said softly as his dark essence fully engulfed him and he assumed the form of a humanoid beast, possessing two large demon like wings at his back, sharp claws and talons and bright glowing eyes.

"What is that thing!?" Rai exclaimed, what he laid his eyes upon was not human. That was certain.

"Bring it on, Princess Abigail.." Johnathan inquired, his voice becoming distorted making him sound exactly like a beast.
