A Decisive Battle

Abigail's body shone a bright reminiscent orange aura which left Johnathan speechless. "I-impossible!" Johnathan exclaimed not being able to comprehend what had just happened.

"There's no way!" He added.

Logically speaking in Jonathan's point of view, there was no way she could have seen him coming. Not with the use of her five senses disrupted.

Abigail closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

As she exhaled, she opened her eyes as the orange aura that engulfed her body grew dimmer.

"Grr.." Johnathan in his Dark Phoenix king mode growled, he rushed at her instantly and attempted to sever her stomach with several strikes of his claws. However she evaded each strike cleanly with a series of acrobatics and tilts.

At his last strike, she grabbed his forehead and uttered softly in his ears. "What was that saying again? Ah yes, one good turn deserves another." She slammed the head of Johnathan into the ground and the force of impact caused his body to bounce upwards a bit above the ground.

Reacting swiftly, Abigail rotated her body before driving her right leg into the stomach of Johnathan. He was launched backwards at a great speed all the way to the edge of the open space arena.

After rolling several times on the ground and crashing into the walls of the arena, he got up slowly to his feet feeling frustrated. "How!? How are you able to tell where my attacks are coming from when you can't even sense anything!? Answer me Abigail!" With his distorted voice, he raged on.

Abigail twisted her neck to the right gently, her joints clashed together creating a faint popping sound as she replied. "It's simple, you cannot defeat me because you're weak."

Johnathan gritted his teeth in anger, he raised his right claw up and his shadow aura surrounded it even more. "Phoenix king mode: Ethereal fist!" He exclaimed as he compressed the shadow energy that surrounded his right hand.

The whole arena was shaking from the massive influx of power Johnathan generated, displaying just how powerful his essence had become. He plunged forward at Abigail who stood still and aimed a punch at her.

"Oh no.." Ford spoke instantly as he realized the level of power the two royals were currently using was at. He swiftly placed his two hands on the ground and a large magic circle manifested with the arena being in it's center.

Before Johnathan's fist could connect, a huge stone barrier manifested after several flashes of lightning had gone off and encased both the two royals within it.

BOOM!

A large explosion occured within the stone barrier, it spread out a shockwave that completely eradicated the barrier and turned it to dust which covered the whole colosseum.

"What just happened?" Rai asked as he coughed trying his best not to inhale the dust. As the cloud of dust settled down and in the middle of a now shattered arena, Abigail held the fist of a visibly dumbfounded Johnathan who could not believe that she had caught his blow with just one hand.

"What!? She caught his fist! She caught his fist with just one hand! What the hell!?" Ford proclaimed in surprise. Everyone, including Selena and Rai's mouth was left hanging after they had just witnessed.

"W-what are you!?" Johnathan stammered.

"Listen carefully." Abigail spoke as she instantly sent her right fist engulfed by her orange essence underneath the jaw of Johnathan and gave him an uppercut.

"Essence is not just a power up." She followed up swiftly with a right cross to his left cheeks.

"It's an extension of oneself, a part of you that you weren't aware was there all along." She swiftly sent her left fist at the stomach of Johnathan which shattered the dark aura that shielded him.

Johnathan ejected saliva from his mouth as her fist made contact with his abdomen. "Just like you considered every part of your body as essential components for movements and your whole being, essence too is a part of our being. That is essence Field, the ability to be one with your essence and be in sync with it." As she spoke, the speed of her continuous assaults on his body increased.

"You're weak because you consider essence just a tool and left it unrefined, you lost the moment you decided to treat it as such." With a powerful right cross, she sent Johnathan crashing hard into the ground and he rolled several meters away from her.

His Dark Phoenix king mode had been shattered by the raging fists of Abigail. He managed to get to his knee breathing heavily.

"What am I?" She said mimicking the earlier question of Johnathan.

She scoffed as the orange essence that surrounded her flowed into her right palm and turned into a ball of light as she said. "A beast that surpasses human understanding, it is I Abigail!"

She dashed forward at an explosive speed towards the beaten Johnathan. "Light Essence: Holy Excalsis!" She exclaimed as she aimed the ball of light at the abdomen of Johnathan who screamed out loud in pain as it drilled through him.

She threw the ball of light along with him backwards into the wall and a mini explosion occured as the ball of light dissipated.

Johnathan collapsed face first on the ground, he lost consciousness as his body was unable to handle the beating Abigail dished out to him.

"He's down! He's down! The prince of the Nilecrest is down and out! Abigail is your winner!" Ford exclaimed as all the nobles of the Ronowa empire rose to their feet and applauded their princess.

Even Rai applauded her as she exceeded his expectations, she made him believe that truly indeed essence wasn't just a superpower. It was an extension of one's body and mind.

Abigail slumped to her knees, a smile crafted on her face. She hasn't felt the need to exert herself so much as to use her essence field. It was a worthy battle indeed.

Paramedics came into the scene and took away the beat up body of Johnathan in order to provide first aid treatment.

"Now that's over with, let us proceed to the next match! It is.." Ford said as he went through the names on the sheet of paper he had at hand.

"Alexander versus Selena!" Ford exclaimed.

Selena's eyes were widened in shock, she was already up next and to make it worse she was up against a noble who so despised commoners.

Alexander from his seat laughed a bit, he felt a bit insulted being placed in a match with a commoner but at the same time, he felt it was in his power to show her that commoners were not welcomed here.

"Let's get this over with." He said calmly.
