MARTIAL ARTS SYSTEM, CHAPTER 3

Yun stood up straight, staring at his clenched fist, and ran away from the crowd with his friends in an ambulance. After 12 hours of waiting in the hospital, Mia and Alex regained consciousness and started looking around the room. They were confused about how they had arrived at the hospital.

They heard a loud snore coming from the other side of the curtains. Alex withdrew the curtains, and they saw Yun sleeping on a chair, staying by their side the entire night. They decided to play a prank on him and drew on his face. Yun woke up from his slumber and removed the curtain to check on his friends. They were both on their phones, and when they saw Yun was awake, they started laughing and taking pictures. Yun was confused and looked in the mirror to his left, where he saw a mustache drawn on his face. He felt angry but relieved that his friends were in good health.

After Alex and Mia were discharged from the hospital, their family arrived, worrying about their kids' well-being. Everyone was taken home and scolded along the way. Thankfully, they were okay and ready to attend school again. Yun's expression changed the moment everyone left the hospital. He decided that with this app and the skills it gave him, he could make a change in his school.

He unlocked his phone and saw another notification from the app, asking, "New quest to complete! Accept or Decline?" Yun chose to accept. The new quest read, "Save a girl from 3 men outside the hospital to increase power punch stats." Yun's expression turned confused and petrified. He rushed out of the hospital, searching for the girl and the three men after her.

After a few minutes of searching, Yun sat on a bench outside the hospital. That's when he heard, "Help me!" A woman was crying for help on the other side of the road from an alley. He ran until the voice of the woman disappeared. He spotted the woman and the three men who were with her. "HEY!" Yun screamed at the top of his lungs, grabbing the attention of the three men and the woman.

The men laughed at Yun for trying to be a hero, commending him for his bravery. One of the men walked up to Yun, tapped his shoulder, and slapped him on his face, telling him to leave. Yun was furious and saw the woman was in dire need of assistance. He clenched his fist and swung at the man tapping his shoulder, sending him flying against the wall.

The other two men turned around and saw their companion on the ground, in pain and holding onto his stomach. They got annoyed and decided to finish Yun off first before attending to the woman. Yun stood his ground, bent his knees, extended his arms, and clenched his fists, indicating he was ready to fight.

The leader of the three men signaled to his friend to attack first, and he'd strike from behind. Yun noticed this before they made their move and ran toward the leader. They were not expecting such a bold move from a high school boy of Yun's height. Yun struck the leader of the squad in his chest, knocking the wind out of him and sending him flying toward a pile of trash, knocking him unconscious.

The last man was undeterred. After witnessing his friends knocked out cold by a teenage boy, he still decided to go in for the blow. But it backfired, sending him flying against the wall behind the woman. Yun started glowing, and his phone rang, "Quest completed! Power Punch enhanced."

The boss got up weakly, pulled out a knife, and aimed it at Yun. He ran toward Yun with no hesitation to kill the boy. Yun quickly turned around, and with a low fist, he struck 0.4 seconds faster than the man's knife, hitting the man's lower abdomen. Yun sent the man flying further and harder against the wall, and the man lost consciousness.

Yun was surprised that his "power punch" had become stronger. He realized he was late for dinner again, so he bowed to the lady and asked her, "If the authorities arrive, please tell them that the men were fighting amongst themselves, and a truck hit them." She was at a loss for what had taken place and nodded, agreeing.

Yun left the scene before the police arrived. He made it home before 8 PM, out of breath from running. He knocked on the door for his mother to answer. Yun's mother heard the knocking and knew her son was home late again. She opened the door with a frustrated expression, expecting Yun to retreat into his room as he usually did, but this time, he hugged her.

Yun had never hugged his mother in three years, not since his father passed away at a construction site. Yun entered the kitchen, sat down with his mother, and ate happily. He ate until he felt he had a belly pop out. Yun walked to his room and said, "Goodnight, I love you!" to his mother. She longed to hear those words come out of her son's mouth.

As the night turned into day, Yun was excited to get out of bed and head to school. He quickly got dressed, ate breakfast, and rushed out the front door. Yun excitedly unlocked his bike and rode it to school. He managed to arrive 10 minutes earlier than usual, avoiding all traffic and bystanders. His friends, Alex and Mia, were waiting for him at the front gate, thinking he'd arrive at the last minute as usual. But to their surprise, he was early.

Yun got off his bike and walked onto the school grounds with his friends. Alex and Mia walked inside the school, while Yun stood outside, looked up, and smiled. "This time, I'll make things right!" he thought to himself with a bright expression.
