Dear John

After Barney dropped Selena in front of the Cafe, the woman went inside. She looked around the cafe, everything was set, the tables, the counter, and even the kitchen at the back of the counter. The cafe was styled just like the other cafe. Menu's plastered on the wall, a small glass cabinet for the pastries and cake and, different types of flowers in a pot were on the circular table.

Her eyes caught a huge photo on the wall next to the stairs. It was a photo of a woman standing in front of the horse with a horn, it was black and white. The woman had a long backless dress while her long hair was braided in half. She can't be mistaken, the scenery is familiar. It was her, it was the day of Ken's wedding, where she was lost and wondering who to choose between Kirby and Anders.

A bittersweet smile curled up her lips, she bit it and shut her eyes. Remembering who she used to be was not as painful as before. The feeling she had before has been long gone.

She fell deep with her thought, wondering what could have had happened if she chose Kirby or Anders. Maybe she will just be as happy as them now.

Her feet absently walked towards the photo, as she stopped in front of it, her finger lifted to touch it.

She had experienced too much pain but, she knows that she's lucky to have her new family now. Thinking of the family, the pervert's figure flashed in her mind.

(That pervert has a brother huh!) she thought.

"Hi," a familiar husky voice spoke from her behind. Selena immediately turned around and found Alejandro.

He no longer had his white coat, instead, he was wearing a checkered blue and white polo. An uncertain smile was on his lips while his hands were holding a book he bought at the market.

Due to his unexpected appearance, Selena has suddenly felt lost, unsure of what to do next.

She stood there, speechless while both of her eyes were wide open in surprise.

"I – I am not a trespasser, I knocked and you seemed lost in that photo so I came in. Did I startled you?" he apologetically stated.

"Ahm-" Selena cleared her throat and blinked repeatedly to get her brain back.

"This is a cafe, anyone can enter" she laughed awkwardly.

"I'm glad to hear that, is that you in the photo?" he said pointing a finger at the black and white photo.

Selena cleared her throat once again to prepare herself to answer his question. Her heart pulverized by his baritone voice.

"Depends, you mean the horse or the girl," she jokingly said.

Alejandro let out a full chuckle which made her surprise.

"The girl," he eventually said after laughing.

"Yes, that's me. It was ten years ago, how did you know it was me?" she curiously asked. The photo might be big but, her figure and the horse was too small since the photo was taken in a landscape style.

Alejandro went silent, he was just deep staring at her. His face was stiffed as if he didn't just laugh a minute ago.

"Because," his lips were partly open as if we wanted to say something more doesn't know how to do it.

"You look sad just like the girl in the photo, do you miss him?" his question made her raise an eyebrow.

Does he know her? If not, why is he asking if he misses him and what does he mean by him. Those are the questions she has in her mind.

"Him?" her head tilted ignorantly as she asked him.

Then, Alejandro walked closer and stood next to her, he pointed at the horse next to her.

"The horse,"

An 'Oh' sound let out from her lips, everything made clear after he pointed at the horse.

She stared at the horse, it was indeed so long since she saw him. After getting back from her travel, she didn't get a chance to visit James, her horse. And now that the villa is close, she believed that the horse was with Daniella's brother, Danny.

She sighed and reminisced the day she spent with the horse. In the past, whenever she's sad, happy or angry, she always visits him. Talk to him and share her day.

How long has it been? She asked.

How long has it been since she spoke to James? When was the last time she brush his hair?

Five years, she thought. The last word she said to him was 'goodbye' and after that, she ran away. Away from the people that hurt her.

"Is he a gift from your boyfriend?" her senses was pulled back when she heard his voice again. Unknowingly, her mind went somewhere again.

Selena shook her head, "No, Daniella gave him to me. it's one of her crossbred animals. And yes, I miss him," her head lifted a little to meet his eyes, they were standing next to each other, both eyes were shining as they stared at each other.

"Would you like to see him?" she offered. She didn't mean too but her lip just said those words after seeing the fascination in his face.

"That's – yes, absolutely," his answer made her lips to smile. She bit her lower lips and nodded.

"Ok, ahm, he's with Daniella's brother now so, if you can give me a date I can set an appointment. So, ahm-" she stuttered, her hand nervously scratches her hair while masking her face with a smile.

"I am free every Sunday. I hope I am not disturbing you,"

"No, you're not disturbing me. I am free every day so, I guess I will see you on Sunday then," her heart was bursting, she wanted to slice her body open and replace her heart with a normal one.

"Great, I will pick you on Sunday,"

With his hypnotizing deep black eyes, Selena nodded and followed him as he walked towards the door.

He opened the door and stepped outside, Selena stood by the door, her body was stopping the door from closing.

"Ok, but you might want to pack extra clothes. My uncle ranch doesn't have a normal road, so it'll be muddy."

"Got it," he said after clicking his tongue.

She watched him as he crossed the street. She found out that his car was parked in front of the fast-food chain. When Alejandro got into the driver seat, the man rolled the window' s down and waved a hand as a goodbye.

With a bright smile, Selena waved back and shouted 'Bye.'

Minutes have passed since Alejandro left but, Selena was still standing by the door, smiling alone.

"Seriously? You're going out with a guy you just met?" a voice from behind startled her, she placed a hand on her chest and blow out a heavy sigh.

With her eyes wide open, she glared at her Auntie.

"Daniella, can you and you kids please more normal. Don't just suddenly pop out. I almost had a heart attack," her heart was pounding so hard, stunned by her auntie's sudden appearance.

"What pop out? We've been here since that hot guy came in. Evan and I were sitting on that corner," Danella said, pointing at the table where she finds her uncle sitting comfortably.

Selena rose an eyebrow, wondering if they heard her conversation with Alejandro.

"I am not going on a date with him," she tried to speak with irritation, trying to hide how nervous she is right now.

"Where is your brain, Selena? A single man and a single woman going on a trip mean a date. Try googling it," Daniella ironically blurted.

Selena wrinkled her face, her mood was ruined by Daniella's words.

"It's not a date because he has a fiancee. He's one of your fans so-" her words were frozen when she realized that Alejandro didn't say why he went here. They were both enjoying their conversation that she forgot to ask him why he was here.

"Oh, well, he was staring at you like he wanted to bang you on the table." those words made her lips to twitch, she could never imagine herself doing it, especially to a person that has a fiancee.

Then Daniella continued, "I didn't know he has a fiancee. All I know is that your single, and we will have an opening tomorrow so," Selena watched Daniella as she rolled the magazine in her hand and started hitting her head.

"Go to the kitchen and starts baking. We need cakes tomorrow!" Selena groaned in pain everything the magazine smacked her head.

"Stop hurting me," she grumbled but, Daniella was not stopping.

"Go and start baking. Make sure to hide the cupcakes. My kids have been making plans on how to steal it."

Knowing that Daniella will not stop hitting her, Selena ran towards the kitchen.
