As the car stop to give way to the people passing the pedestrian lane, a man in his casual clothing opened the car door and climbed in.

Alejandro who was sitting on the driver seat looked at the backseat thru the rearview mirror and found his older brother. There was a mischievous smile on his brother's lips as he stared back at him.

He sighed and pressed the safety lock button, the last thing he wanted was for his brother to jump out of the car while he's driving. He can't let his family blame him for his brother's death.

"Ian, you didn't come home. Mom and dad are worried," he calmly said, both eyes were focusing on the road.

He heard him scoffing.

"Really? aren't they happy that you are finally getting married? I thought we had an agreement brother?" he sarcastically said.

Alejandro went silent, his lips were pressed together as he diverted his anger into the steering wheels.

Without getting his response, Killian drew his body closer at the back of the driver's seat.

"You used to have my back. What happened to us brother?" his voice was full of pain as he said those words.

"Father happened. Since he could not get another rich family to marry me. He asked me to proposed to Tiffany instead. You know how eager he is to expand mom's business to China," he replied emotionless.

Killian's eyes went narrowed in anger, he hit the driver seat with a fist and cursed out.

"Damn it! I don't want to be part of that bitch family. Just the thought of seeing her sister makes me want to kill them," his jaw gnashed in anger, fuming that his father seems to not care for his feelings.

Tom Dane, his father is working as a police captain of their district. He used to be a kind-hearted father to them until one day. His mother, Freya Dane came home and reveal a story behind Alejandro.

That truth almost broke their family, and since then, his brother Alejandro has been so distant to him and always do what his father asked him to do.

They used to be close, always have each other's back. Whenever he got into trouble, his brother will help him, let it be academically or gang trouble, they were always together and of course, their friend Barney which has the same age as Alejandro.

He might be three years older than Alejandro but, since he went to school late, he became his classmate. So he, Barney and Alejandro went to the same school.

A year ago, a man visited their house. He asked for his father's help and in exchange, he will arrange a marriage for him and his daughter but, Killian has a woman he loved that time, so he disagree. Creating a crack to his relationship with his father.

And fate has a funny way of dealing with him. The woman he adored and loved so much had done something so horrible to him, making him believe that 'I love you' is something that people says to get someone into their bed.

Darkness shadowed his face, his teeth were tightly biting his lower lips that it almost bleed.

Remembering the past ignited the frustration he has inside. He let out a shaky breath and stared at his brother concentrating on driving.

"You promised to break up with her. What happened to that brother?" a laugh full of sarcasm let out from his lip, eyes like a crow stared at his brother with despise.

Alejandro sighed, he was about to answer when his phone rang. He connected it to his car via Bluetooth and answered the call.

"Alejandro," it was a full voice of his father roared from the speaker.

Alejandro and Killian looked at each other thru the rearview mirror.

"Yes, dad?" he asked, eyes were focusing at the road.

"The woman in the hospital. The victim, do you know her?"

His father's question made Alejandro to furrowed his forehead in confusion.

"Selena Su? Yes why?" he curiously asked.

His father went silent for a moment before letting out an unsteady breath.

"I want you to get close to her," shock by his father's sudden words, Alejandro accidentally pressed the break causing for her brother to smack his face onto the backseat of his chair.

"Why? I don't think Tiffany's family will be happy to know that I am chasing another woman. It might hurt mom's business," he flatly said.

Their mother was a Biochemists for Chu Pharmaceutical. After the ownership of the company was changed, their mother has decided to create her own company. Now, with all the knowledge she had learned from her previous company, she was able to create vaccines and medicine.

And with the help of their father's connection, they were able to expand it. A year ago, her father has decided to connect with Tiffany's family who owned some hospitals in Beijing thru marriage. They planned to sustain the medicine for the hospitals.

Their mother could have done it locally but, most of her vaccine and medicine did not pass the local health regulation, therefore their mother had decided to sell it to another Country.

"I will arrange a meeting with Tiffany's parents to cancel the engagement. Just focus on Selena Su and make sure to get her favor."

All Alejandro could say was 'yes'. When his father hung up the phone, he stopped at the bus stop he saw and turned to face his brother.

"Are you happy now?" knowing that the engagement will be cancel, relief flooded his mind.

But his brother did not change his expression, his cold eyes were still looking at him with hatred.

"Are you going to continue being a dog to that man? Getting close to an innocent woman just to get his favor," Killian mockingly sneered at him.

Confusion crossed over Alejandro's face. He thought that by canceling the engagement, his older brother would be happy but, seeing his dark face, he realized that he just made their relationship worse.

"Innocent woman?" he mimicked the tone he had earlier.

"When did a woman became so innocent to you brother? Don' lecture me on how to treat a woman because we both know that you change one every other night," his face showed nothing but anger. He has been trying to get their relation to be back as before but, seems like nothing can ever fix it.

His brother became silent, looking at him with anguish.

"Stay away from Selena," when he heard him calling Selena so casually, he then realized that he must have known her.

"How did you know her?" he asked, both eyes narrowed in suspicion.

(Is she one of his women?) he asked himself, wondering why his brother is suddenly acting protectively over a woman.

"It's none of your business. Just stay away from her," his brother harshly opened the door.

"What if I don't?" he provocatively asked.

Before his brother stepped out of the car, he looked at him once again, same expression as before.

"Fine Alejandro. Let's see who can get her first," he showed a vicious smile and slammed the door closed.
