There I was, basking under the sun. The soft wind blew gently on my face, a soft smile formed on my friend's lips.

"I wish these peaceful day last forever." the words spilled out of my mouth. My friend, nodded without a second thought.

Oh how wrong was I to think that.

We didn't realise what was going to happen in a week. Sure, we've theorized some scenarios but never had we thought it would come true.

It was like any normal Tuesday, I was in school. We were all calmly going to lessons, passing by the quadrangle, maybe even high fiving some of our friends in a different class.

Like any student who's teacher wasn't in class. We loitered outside, near the railings while looking down from the top floor.

My friends and I were simply having a light hearted conversation, cracking jokes once in a while and laughing till we can't breathe.

Something or rather someone, caught my eye in the midst of everything. The figure stumbled around raggedly, as if it had no upper body strength to continue walking.

What happened next made my eyes almost bulge out of my sockets. The unknown figure had pounced onto a student, ripping his organs apart with it's bare teeth.

A loud shriek escaped my friend's mouth, catching everyone's attention. Starting from there, chaos began. Everyone started running around, trampling over others without realising.

l quickly pulled my friend out from under the table, yes, I know, it sounds idiotic. I had to put her somewhere safe and the safest place I could think of was the science lab.

I shouted at everyone to follow me, placing them into hiding inside the lab. There were cabinets that they could hide in. At least two people can fit if they squeeze in. I don't think anyone cares about personal space right now since surviving sounds better.

As I was about to walk out the door, a hand wrapped around my wrist, pulling me back. "Where are you going?!" My classmate, Yukio exclaimed.

"To get help of course, plus we aren't safe defenseless. I'll come back and bring some stuff from the sport room." I breathed out shakily.

Truth be told, I was terrified, scared out of my wits actually but I wasn't going to let them know that. Not now at least.

"I'll go with you." I immediately stopped him, shaking my head. From the corner of my eye, I saw something red. A fire extinguisher.

I ran over to it, carrying it to Yukio. "If anything happens, use this. If it's to heavy to swing, tell another person to help you."

He let out a fustrated sigh, before nodding. I look at them one last time before opening the door and running away.

Everything was eerily quiet, as if there was no sign of life anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if there actually isn't. I was barefoot, trying to reduce the sound of my steps.

I slowly open the door to the storage in the sports room, before I knew it, something swung at me lightning speed.

I was barely able to dodge it as I stumble to the side. Looking up, I saw a junior of mine raising a baseball bat, ready to hit me. "Wait!" I shouted by reflex as I threw my arms in a defensive shield.

She gasped, dropping the metal bat onto the ground. Her hand clasped over her mouth as she swallowed her cries. I quickly caught her as her knees failed to hold on.

"I'm sorry, I th-thought you were a monster." She cried into my arms. By instinct, I carressed her head gently.

"Are you alone?" I asked her while she slowly calms down, she shook her head, muttering a no. I raised my eyebrow when suddenly, I saw someone coming out from the cabinet.

"oh thank god you're okay Julia." her friend ran up to her.

She looked up at me, tilting her head "who are you?" she asked. I stood up, walking towards the door and shutting it.

"my name is Diana."
