"Where are we going?" Julia asked me, her eyes darted around the room nervously. I swung the bag filled with baseball bats over my shoulder.
"to the science lab, I'll drop you off there." I tightened the bag so it doesn't fall off when I run. At least I hope I don't have to.
Julia's friend, Casey, grabbed a small pole that was good enough to hurt someone if swung very hard. I breathed in, before opening the door.
We quietly make our way up to the second floor, still not seeing anyone. At that moment, I didn't know if it was a good thing or not.
We reach the lab and I pray that my friends remained unhurt. Slowly I twisted the doorknob, peeking through the gap that was growing bigger as I push on the door.
A hand fished me from behind the door and dragged me in. I fell onto the floor, groaning in pain. "What was that for?" I glared at Yukio menacingly.
He ignored me and looked at the two girls who quietly stepped in, "Aren't you Cayden's sister?" Yukio raised his eyebrow. Casey's eyes widened, hearing her brother's name.
"Is my brother here?!" she exclaimed, Yukio and I shared a sad glance, afraid to tell her the truth. I guess she caught on to our looks, her shoulders deflated as she stares at the ground.
Drops of tears fell onto the floor, her hiccups echoed the room. Out of nowhere, her phone rang. She quickly fished it out from her pocket, answering the call.
"Cayden?" her voice wavered, we could hear Cayden's voice coming from the phone.
"Oh thank god you're okay, where are you?" she looked up, catching our eyes. "We're at the Science lab."
"okay, just wait there till I get out of here." I motioned her to give me the phone.
"Cayden, where are you? I'll come by and pick you up."
"I'm in maths class." I looked at Jessica, she made eye contact before nodding. I give back the phone to Casey, telling her to inform Cayden to stay put.
Jessica opened our school skirt, revealing a pair of shorts underneath it. I mimicked her actions, grabbing the bat off the ground.
Slowly, we left the room. Our hearts were beating out of our chest, my eyes kept darting around every corner. Quietly, we made our way up the stairs.
We reach the class, it was too dark inside to even peek. As gently as possible, I push the door open.
"Cayden?" Jessica called out, his head slowly pops out from under the teacher's desk. A sigh escaped from my mouth, glad to see that he's safe.
Before we could even say anything, a low growl rumbled from outside. Quickly, I stepped behind the locker, holding my breath.
One of the teacher walked in, stumbling like the figure I saw in the quadrangle. I tightened the grip on the bat, swinging it down onto the unknown teacher.
It slumped onto the floor, blood oozing out from it's head. As it was about to stir again, I placed the end of the baseball bat and pressed my weight, instantly crushing it's head.
the body laid lifeless on the floor with no signs of movement, the thing near his pocket caught my eye.
"What is it, Diana?" Jessica asked. I bent down, grabbing the key. She looked at it before nodding, "let's go." she nudged her head out the door.
We left the place, returning back to the lab with Cayden trailing behind us.
