Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? My Cover Artist's Twitter is @Bombyixmori, follow if you like their work! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Warnings: 1. Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

Tremble

"Then, why are you trembling?" Eo asked me.

"Trembling? I'm not... am I? I'm sorry, I don't mean to." I told everybody. I sat down on the ground because I started to feel dizzy, and everyone began to surround me.

When I looked up at them, I scrunched my face, thinking about why they didn't care about the dead. Shike was still right over there... his body just lying, facing the sky, with his detached head six feet away from it. Why didn't anybody care?

It's probably because they didn't love him... not as I did...

Even as his friends, they still didn't pay any attention to him.

"Belle." Eo's muffled voice sprouted from a crack in my coupled thoughts, but I ignored it while I closed my eyes.

All of them... this intruder, this betrayer... none of them cared. They only wanted to kill Illya.

Illya is but a mere stepping stone in the path I will take to avenge Shike. I don't care about killing her, I care about making his death mean something to our progression.

All these violent people want is to kill. These monsters.

I opened my eyes to everybody's silence. They weren't moving, just watching me. Dani was observing me closer than others, with that black eye of hers being the only one open.

"Don't you think it's funny that nobody cares that Shike is dead? Like, the only reason he died was to fuel your rage to kill Illya. You use an unrelated problem to add onto your own cause, like the murderers you are." I told them.

"Belle, you weren't there to see it! Illya killed Shike! She cut his head clean off because he got close to Sky. No person should be punished like that, so of course, we plan to kill Illya." Mitra said, a little too confidently.

"Was Shike the final straw, or is it a justified reason to listen to Dani? Did any of you really even care about Shike?" I asked them again.

"Belle! Of course, we did! How do we cope with the death of somebody who's been by our side this entire time? Do we sit here and cry? We have things to do, if we sit here and rot away with our tears, Illya will ruin this world even more and we would all die. Is that what you want?" Alexia asked me again.

These voices... were so...

Annoying.

"We were created to be killed. We've outlived our use. We have no real meaning, do we?" I asked her again.

"I was told the same thing, Belle. On a beach, by a man named Zeal who was what Sky thought to be the King of Earth. He told everybody our lives didn't have any meaning, but we've turned them into something that meant something... who is to say that you can't do the same?" Dani asked me.

"Who's to say that I want the same? You understand it too, right? Living in a world without the person you love, what kind of world is that? A shitty one, one not meant to live... if Shike would've died in both variations, whether we were all killed, or he was the only one killed, I don't think I would've wanted to live either way. We were inseparable since birth, and now, we're separated. This doesn't feel real, and I don't want to feel this forever." I said to everybody.

I didn't get a comment after that. It sounds like these murderers are finally beginning to understand.

"What, are you scared?" Dani asked me. Was she trying to instigate me?

"Dani, stop it," Eo told her.

Dani rose her hand to block out Eo's request and got closer to me.

"I mean, really? This is pathetic talk. I don't feel like hearing these faithless words from somebody who clearly isn't thinking straight. Do you all really like Belle? If you ask me, I think she's kind of... bitchy... don't you think?" Dani asked my friends.

"She's just hurt right now, Dani. You don't know the beginning of the person she is." Boo tried to defend me, but Dani was still adamant about who I should be, rather than who I was.

"Backed into a corner, does a man show their true colors? That was a saying Sky liked to say all the time. When he was backed into a corner, he turned into a killer, and that was alright with all of us. In fact, that is most of us now. But, backed into a corner, you're just a hopeless little bitch, incapable of supporting your own mind with thoughts that would push you forward. I would rather leave you here with the dead body of your lover than bring you with me to kill Illya." Dani told me.

Something was beginning to snap in my head.

"Stop talking," I told Dani.

"Or what? Your threats mean nothing. You can't Corrupt your system, you're too hopeless to use your ability for good, what are you good for? Can you even hit me?" She asked me.

I rose my hand up and she sat there with a smile. She really isn't prepared for my ability.

I summoned a spear of ice twenty feet to her right behind a rock and then launched it at her as fast as I could.

It was aimed straight for her head, and as she kept that same eye open, she rose her hand at the absolute last second and blocked the spear of ice with some sort of power I couldn't see.

It was like the spear shot off in another direction before bursting into shards of ice, and Dani's face turned sour.

"Hey, you were trying to kill me with that spear, should I take that as you being an enemy now? Because we can definitely solve this problem by fighting." Dani said, getting closer to me.

"Such a violent person. I guess if I were to fix you, this would be the only way to do it, wouldn't it?" I asked her.
