Jennifer was disappointed, "I know." She realized that from now on, she was the only one left in her life. Mom was going to be the strangest relative she had!
She was going to enter Anderson's house this way because she wanted to see what they could do to her.
Someone was waiting at the bottom of the apartment building, a young man in the form of a chauffeur. The man's face was cold. Next to him was an old maid. The old maid could have looked more kind. The man nodded at her with an expressionless face, "Ma'am, please!" The man opened the door of the car. The action was respectful, yet Jennifer didn't feel that someone was being polite to her.
Being in such a luxurious limousine for the first time didn't make her feel elated. As she suspected, the man she was going to marry was an old man—and a grumpy old man at that. How else could everyone around him seem so serious and cold?
The thought of it sent chills down her back. Where the hell was she going? Would she be subjected to that perverted older man's abuse? Generating fear, she gathered her courage to ask the old maid beside her, "Auntie, where is our destination?" Although she tried to calm herself, she could feel her voice trembling.
The old maid didn't look at Jennifer and said faintly, "Oak Manor." Yes, the old maid used a very light tone, but Jennifer could hear the pride in it. "Everyone calls me Scarlet Wlliambrown, and you can do the same."
Jennifer replied sardonically, clearly not mentally focused. All she could think was that the place she would be staying in the future was hell, which was a horrible name. And would that place be as scary?
After a long ride, she finally reached her destination. Her whole body froze when she saw a vast mountain villa that only appeared in fairy tales. Anderson's family was indeed wealthy, no matter whether it was the villa or other luxurious facilities that were something she had never seen before.
But what caught her attention the most was not the surroundings but the people there. All around were men in suits, walking around with solemn faces, like they were on patrol. They couldn't be Gu's bodyguards, could they? It was no wonder. Of course, someone had to watch over such a big place; otherwise, the loss from theft would be huge. But those people were a little too cold, making her even more afraid.
The car stopped in front of one of the villas, built in a European style with exquisite white color, much like an ancient palace. This made Jennifer resent her 'husband' even more.
"Madam, please, His Lordship is waiting for you inside." Scarlet bowed.
Jennifer really wanted to run away at this point. Master? Geez, just how old is that? Although she was scared, thinking of all the money her mom had taken, she could only muster up the courage to go in. Inside the hall, an older man was waiting for her! The older man was kind and didn't look distant, but even so, he was still in his sixties, right? No! She really couldn't accept it!
