Upon hearing the mention, the people present began glancing around, curious about who it was, but soon their attention was drawn to a man wearing a bamboo hat and plain black clothing as he steadily walked up to the stage.
When they saw Madara ascend the stage, they began to voice their opinions about his outfit.
"Here comes another show-off," one of the attendees muttered quietly.
"He really went out of his way to make cuts in his clothing to look cool for everyone," another person chimed in.
"It's obvious that the blood on his clothes is fake—just a ploy to attract our attention," remarked a male scholar.
As he walked, making no sound and moving slowly toward the old man with the divine eye mirror, Madara paid no mind to the whispers surrounding him. What they didn't realize was that the wound he had sustained that night was half-an-inch deep, the result of glancing blows from the weapons of two opponents in the late-stage Qi Condensation he had fought.
When he got closer, he removed his bamboo hat and placed it in his storage ring, while the old man began to scan him using the divine eye mirror.

After the elder announced the results of his scan and shared the information Madara had provided about himself, murmurs spread through various parts of the plaza, with everyone's gaze focused on him. Seated at a distance from the stage, Zhang Hao couldn't help but smile slightly as he heard the commotion. "I didn't expect you to come, Madara," he thought.
Madara then cupped his fist and addressed Han Feng, who was sitting nearby. "I wish to join the Heavenly Dao Sect; I hope you will accept me."
When Han Feng saw Madara's expression—cold and neutral—he felt the weight of Madara's gaze locking onto his eyes. As soon as Madara noticed that the sect master had accepted him, he quickly descended the stage and returned to the spot where he had been standing earlier. As he made his way down, Han Feng couldn't help but ponder, "Unknown Bloodline? Hmm..."
As he descended and returned to his previous spot, Madara could feel the weight of many eyes on him with each step. Despite this scrutiny, he chose to ignore the stares; his thoughts focused on the hope of seeing his sister, Xiao Yun, again. Hours passed, and as evening approached—signaling the end of the sect disciple selection—he still saw no sign of Xiao Yun, Li Mei, or Li Lu. Even during his journey from Jin Yang Town to Taiyuan City, he hadn't encountered anyone from their village whom he recognized.
In that moment, it struck him that he was the only one who had escaped that night. Standing in silence, he bowed his head, his right hand clenched into a fist. His attention was drawn back to the stage when the elder struck a gong and announced, "This event is officially over."
After this announcement, the three sect masters descended from the stage to call their disciples. When Madara heard Sect Master Han Feng's voice from a distance, he approached without hesitation. After Han Feng checked each of their wooden plates, he took out two spiritual stones from his storage ring and placed them on the ground. With a simple wave of his hand, Han Feng initiated spatial teleportation.
As the blue spatial teleportation formed, Han Feng instructed his new disciples to enter. The eager cultivators quickly stepped inside the portal without hesitation. When it was Madara's turn, he took a deep breath and stepped into the strange portal. Once he was certain that no cultivators were left behind or running late, Han Feng entered the spatial teleportation as well. The portal swiftly faded, and the two spiritual stones disintegrated into ash.
Upon exiting the spatial teleportation, the first thing that captured Madara's attention was the grand entrance, framed by towering stone gates intricately carved with ancient runes and celestial motifs, shimmering with a faint golden glow. Above the gates, the words "Heavenly Dao Sect" were elegantly inscribed. These gates stood tall and wide, symbolizing the vastness of knowledge and the divine paths within.
Everyone was awestruck by the sight before them, and their focus shifted to their sect master as he spoke from behind them. "Welcome to my sect."
When they turned around, they found their master standing behind them. Before they could even move from their spots, he vanished in the blink of an eye, redirecting their attention to the front, where he now stood before the gate of their sect. Everyone was astonished; even Madara was left speechless, fully aware that their master was not someone to be underestimated.
"What are you all waiting for? Come in; it's getting late," Han Feng invited the cultivators. They promptly responded and continued to enter the Heavenly Dao Sect. As they passed through the gate, their master took out a talisman from his storage ring. Holding it with his right hand, he raised it high. In that instant, Madara and the other cultivators noticed an invisible barrier that had been blocking the gate of their sect dissolve.
As they walked, Madara couldn't take his eyes off their master, reflecting on the display of power he had just witnessed. He couldn't help but wonder to himself, "What could his cultivation realm be?" Beyond the gates lay a broad stone pathway lined with vibrant, blooming cherry blossom trees, their petals gently falling like soft rain. The pathway led to an expansive courtyard, where a magnificent fountain stood at its center.
When they reached their destination, their master stopped to discuss the rules and regulations of the sect, along with other topics related to their new home. After this, each of them was given clothing representing the sect, a storage ring adorned with the sect's logo, a sect spirit orb, and a sect talisman. Once they received these items, they were led by an inner disciple, who typically wore long, flowing robes made of lightweight fabric in deep azure, white, or earth tones, symbolizing their connection to nature and the heavens. The robes featured wide sleeves and intricate cloud embroidery, with a woven belt cinching the waist, and they wore flat-soled sandals for ease of movement.
After being guided by one of his inner disciples, they finally arrived at their respective rooms. The buildings for female cultivators were separate from those for male cultivators. When Madara saw his room, he noted that the number on his talisman matched the one displayed above the door, so he stepped inside. Upon entering, he found a bed suitable for one person, a small kitchen, and a bathroom—typical of an apartment but remarkably spacious inside, as if it were designed for training. Though it appeared small from the outside, the interior was surprisingly large, complemented by a fresh, comfortable temperature despite being a closed room.
After cooking, eating, and changing into his new clothing, Madara headed to his bed to sleep and rest. However, after a few hours, he found himself unable to sleep due to the unfamiliar surroundings. That night, he decided to focus his time on entering his inner realm to acquire new techniques. In the library, he chose the Great Fireball Technique, Chidori, Mayfly Technique, Sword of Kusanagi: Longsword of the Sky, and Wood Release: Nativity of a World of Trees.
---Great Fireball Technique (Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu) : This technique involves molding chakra (qi) within the user's body and converting it into fire. The user then expels the fire from their mouth in the form of a large, powerful fireball. (upgraded version of fireball technique)---
---Chidori (One Thousand Birds) : The Chidori is a high concentration of lightning chakra (qi) channeled into the user's hand. The high-speed thrust of the technique generates a distinct chirping sound, giving it its name.---
---Mayfly Technique (Hiraishin): The Mayfly Technique is a unique ability that allows the user to merge with the ground or flora, effectively becoming one with their surroundings and moving at high speeds.---
---Sword of Kusanagi: Longsword of the Sky (Kusanagi no Tsurugi: Kū no Tachi): The Sword of Kusanagi is a legendary blade that can be manipulated telekinetically by the user. The Longsword of the Sky variation allows the user to control the sword at a distance, attacking foes from afar.---
---Wood Release: Nativity of a World of Trees (Mokuton: Jukai Kōtan): This technique allows the user to create a vast forest out of nowhere. The trees generated are under the user's control and can be manipulated to attack or restrain enemies.---

"Cell 397."
A man with long, spiky hair, dressed in black clothing and holding a torch, spoke as he raised his head to look at an orb placed above the door. When he noticed that the orb had stopped glowing, he shook his head and continued walking toward the next secluded room, relying only on the torch as he navigated through the darkness of the cave's depths. After several walks and checks of the orbs in each room, the man smiled when he saw that in cell number 415, the light was pulsing, signaling that someone inside was still alive.
Inside this cell was a small crater-like pool filled with a black liquid. Under the surface, a person was submerged, with the black liquid flowing in and out of the pores in their body.
After that, the man proceeded to check the next few rooms...

AN: I never thought I would reach 50 chapters in my first story (fanfiction). Thank you to everyone who reads this, especially those who don't skip chapters (you know who you are), and to those who leave hearts on each chapter. I also appreciate all of my followers.
I apologize for the slow chapter releases and any grammatical errors. I often wonder how other authors manage to publish chapters every day. Are they really sitting in front of a screen all day? Or are they constantly drafting their stories? It's truly impressive if that's the case!
