Chapter 487 "The Ball Part 4"

Sean looked at Stephanie with strange eyes.

Noticing the look in his eyes, she chuckled, "In your eyes, am I the kind of girl who steals from other girls behind their backs and uses various methods to keep them away from you?"

"No..."

Stephanie turned her head, stretched out her hand, and raised two fingers. "You have two choices, Daisy and Hermione. Which one do you think is better as your dance partner?"

Sean frowned, "What do you mean?"

"Isn't this the thing Professor McGonagall gave you? You have to bring a partner to the dance, or do you want to find another girl instead of Daisy and Hermione?" Stephanie completely lost her usual cold appearance.

"I'm really not used to your behavior like this." Sean's eyes twitched.

"Then..." Stephanie suddenly changed into that expressionless look again, "like this?"

Sean rubbed his temples with a headache, "Why do you even have to change your expressions at all in times like this?"

Stephanie showed an emotionless smile, "Sean, it's not that I'm changing it intentionally. People's emotions are dynamic."

"It's just that I'm not used to you being like that." Sean scratched his head.

"I won't ask which one you like," There was a sly look in her eyes, "I want you to like each one."

Stephanie stroked her bangs. Instead of continuing, she talked about the topic just now, "I promised to help you, but you haven't given me the answer yet. Have you decided on who the dance partner is?"

Sean got a headache when he mentioned this. He pinched his eyebrows,

"I thought so. If you can make a choice quickly, you won't be troubled now. Even if it's just for a dance partner," Stephanie stood up. "Can I say something simple?"

"Simple?"

Stephanie held out a hand. Sean was puzzled for a while and then suddenly realized. He grabbed Stephanie's hand, and she squeezed hard, then pulled him up.

She pulled Sean up and immediately let go of her hand. "If you can't make a choice, I suggest you think of too many details, or it will just add to your troubles, and the purpose of my doing this is to help you relieve your troubles. Don't get me wrong; I hope that I was the one you held hands with at the dance, but I hope you can relax more now."

She straightened her gown and skirt, turned around, and smiled gently. "Of course, you don't have to worry about me saying something that shouldn't be said."

Sean opened his mouth to speak, but Stephanie put a finger lightly in front of his lips.

"I know you don't mean it that way, but our experiences and my personality lead me to this. I bring up this idea to prove that I will not destroy the relationship between you and those two girls. I'm here to help you solve the trouble. After all, one, you hate cheating; two, I like you very much; and three, both Daisy and Hermione are smart girls."

"It doesn't make sense for me to destroy the relationship between you and them behind their backs. You can alienate me directly and quickly clear up the misunderstanding between the two of them, but I can't accept that you alienate me again."

"Isn't that clear enough, Mr. Wallup?" Stephanie tilted her head and smiled at him.

Sean was dumbfounded. He didn't even think about it much, but he considered almost everything to dispel all his worries.

Stephanie smiled sweeter, "Is my attractiveness a little bit stronger now?"

Sean smiled helplessly.

"Okay, leave it to me. I will take care of your problems without meddling with your things or those of others regarding this whole dance partner thing. Is that good for you?"

He nodded after he had paused. He really needs help in this area, but it would be shameless and embarrassing for him to admit it.

"By the way..." Stephanie stepped aside briskly, "I haven't blown out the candle yet to make a wish, shall we?"

Sean was slightly absent-minded and stepped forward to hold the cake with Stephanie. She was a head shorter than Sean, and she raised her hands slightly so that Sean could hold the cake to his chest. Through the flickering candlelight, there seemed to be an unquenchable flame breathing in her eyes.

"Happy birthday, Sean." Stephanie gave her biggest smile.

Sean laughed, "Happy birthday, Stephanie."

The candle was blown out, but the flame was still dancing.

----

"Wallup." In the corridor after class, Snape stopped Sean.

"What's the matter, Professor?" Sean was a little puzzled.

His recent class performance was incomprehensible. Even Snape could only sigh. Harry suddenly gets a lot of scolding because he is preparing for the dance with Ginny. He went out to practice secretly at night, wearing an invisibility cloak.

Of course, the aftermath was that it was easy for him to fall asleep in class the next day, which is why Snape scolded him.

However, for Sean, it is different.

Snape held his head high and asked gloomily, "Yesterday, you appeared in the basement classroom. What are you doing there?"

Sean scratched his head, "Professor Flitwick asked me to get the magical candles in the utility room on the basement floor. He was eager to change the color of the flame and the way the flames danced for those candles. You should know that, right?"

Snape said nothing with a sullen face. After a while, he seemed to have figured it out and snorted, "Recently, have you seen anyone going to the basement floor outside of school hours? Especially my office?"

Sean thought for a while and shook his head, "I haven't seen anyone. What's wrong?"

A trace of anger rose on Snape's face, "A thief broke into my storage room."

Sean blinked innocently. Snape looked back at him and seemed to realize that with Sean's wealth, he didn't need to steal the materials in his storage room. He reprimanded Sean for what he had done in class today and then left a couple of potion bottles.

Of course, it was potions for Daisy later.

After putting away the potion, Sean walked towards the corner where no one was there. He was going to go to the Room of Requirement, and then he went into the ring to see Leo and Leona.

After all, as a newcomer, he needs to take care of them.

Five minutes later, Sean was speechless.

Leo and Leona are having a head-to-head competition. The Basilisk acts as a net in the middle. The animals stretched their heads and stared at the ball in the air that was pushed back and forth by two dragons.

The ball that was being used was the airwing bird.

There was even time to call Sean to act as the referee. However, he only served as a referee for a while before he was called away because Daisy came. Climbing out of the ring along the ladder, Sean saw Daisy.

"What's the matter, Daisy?" Sean asked suspiciously.

Daisy swallowed, her face full of horror, "You don't you know?!"

This seemed to be the first time Daisy spoke to herself in such a harsh tone.

Sean suddenly became serious and said, "What happened?"

"Hermione, Hermione!"

"What's wrong with Hermione?" Sean said as he was about to walk out the door.

Daisy grabbed her arm, gritted her teeth, and said, "I'm going to be mad at you!"

"What?"

Daisy shook his hand vigorously, "Hermione has a partner!"

Sean was taken aback, "A Dancing partner?"

"Yeah, she was trying on dresses just now."

Sean licked his lips, "Did she say who the dance partner is?"

Daisy glanced at him sullenly, "Do you even care about it? Hermione has agreed to that person's invitation. Did you tell her that you were about to go to someone?"

Sean immediately thought of Stephanie. She talked about taking care of this problem for herself, and now her method has begun to work.

Sean stroked his chin and thought about it. He is not someone who rushes to his brain to think about things, although he did feel uncomfortable at first when he heard the news from Daisy. But if he thinks about it carefully, Stephanie can't do that kind of thing.

Seeing that he was not in a hurry, Daisy suddenly became anxious: "Sean, what are you doing? Hermione is going to be snatched away!"

Sean rubbed his head, "But Hermione has already agreed, hasn't she?"

Daisy was at a loss for words for a while and looked at Sean, glaring, "Hermione was snatched away."

Sean patted her on the shoulder, "It's just a dance, and regarding that dance partner, I know who that might be."

"Who is it?" Daisy raised her head immediately.

"I'm not sure, but before the dance, Hermione will definitely tell you. Don't worry about it," Sean said softly.

Daisy looked left and right, but she didn't know what she was thinking. In the end, she lay down unwillingly and kicked her legs a few times indiscriminately. Sean had never seen Daisy lose her temper. He thought for a while and handed her the potion that Snape had given him.

"Here."

Daisy took the potion and pouted, "I'm not going to be calmed just by this. How am I going to accept other people's things every day?"

Sean spread his hands, "Just take it. By the way, have you gotten a present for Professor Snape?"

"I've chosen it," Daisy said excitedly at first, but then she pinched her face in distress. What if he doesn't like it?"

"I think 'dislike' will never appear in his opinion coming from you."

The two talked again, and Daisy stood up and was about to rush to class. Before going out, she glanced at Sean hesitantly, but finally said nothing.

Sean waited until Daisy left before lying down and looking at the ceiling with his head in his hands. Stephanie's method may already have been used, which means he should invite Daisy as a dance partner.

But maybe not now.

December is getting closer and closer to the Ball. Hogwarts teachers and students continue to express their desire to impress the guests and are determined to show the castle at its best this Christmas.

The school was decorated with lights and festoons, and Sean realized that he had never seen such beautiful decorations since he entered the school. The marble stairs were covered with never-melting icicles, and the Christmas trees in the hall were adorned with decorations of every kind, from glittering hollies to non-stop Hooting owls.

Those armors in the hallway are enchanted so that they will sing Christmas songs whenever anyone passes by. There's always something funny about hearing an empty helmet singing.

The armor only knew half of the lyrics, and Filch had to pull Peeves out of the armor several times because Peeves was hiding inside, and whenever the armor couldn't sing, he made up some lyrics himself to mess around.

After a dance class, Professor McGonagall called Sean and Daisy to the office.

"Haven't you two found your dance partner yet?" She asked seriously.

The two looked at each other in unison.
