Chapter 49: Duel with the Vulture

"Mason, open the door!" The voice came from the intercom on Mason's desk.

Peter turned to look at the fat Mason who was standing aside with his mouth sealed shut and a sad face.

Mason understood right away and quickly motioned toward the button on the table.

"Mason?"

Boom -

A skylight somewhere in the factory opened.

A strong airflow swept in from outside, and then a figure rushed in. He wore goggles on his head, a flight suit made from a leather jacket, and a huge set of metal wings on his back. The shape was very noticeable, resembling a giant vulture.

"A little surprise from your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!" Peter shot out an electric shock through his web.

How could he not use such a large conductor?

But Toomes seemed prepared in advance. As soon as his body fell from the skylight, he suddenly stopped. Then, his entire huge body began to spin rapidly, and his two pairs of wings were like a massive top, creating a huge whirlwind.

Peter calmly jumped onto the ceiling. He still had time to turn his head to look at the menacing Toomes and said, "Wow, Mr. Iron Vulture, you are more intimidating than that other ugly Vulture."

Toomes didn't know why, but it didn't stop him from continuing to attack Peter.

Several launch holes opened on his wings, and several micro-missiles flew out.

"This could cause the building to collapse. Isn't Mr. Iron Vulture afraid that his hard work will be destroyed in one day?" Peter put his hands together and launched a huge spider web, covering the missiles in it. He spun it in a circle, and then let them turn towards Toomes and fly away.

Toomes was frightened by the sudden missiles. He didn't expect that Peter could accurately block and throw back the high-speed missiles.

What kind of reaction speed and strength did this require?

In his hurry, he controlled his wings to block them.

Clang-clang-clang-clang -

A series of impacts.

It was the sound of micro-missiles hitting the metal wings.

Immediately afterwards, a series of explosions sounded.

Toomes was directly blown out of the air by his own micro-missiles.

"What a great opportunity!" Peter's eyes lit up and he was about to launch another electric shock web to stun the vulture.

Just then, his spider-sense suddenly vibrated.

His body instinctively jumped to the side.

Boom!

A huge crater appeared where he had just been.

It was actually Brice. This guy was holding a weird-looking rifle in his hand. The muzzle was still slightly red and warm. It was obvious that he had fired the compressed energy bullet just now.

Peter made another series of evasive movements and jumped more than ten meters away in an instant.

Behind him, a series of bullets followed close.

This time it was Schultz who launched the attack.

After thinking for a moment, Peter understood the reason.

Probably because Mason and the others opened the door late and didn't answer, Toomes, who already knew Peter was coming this way, guessed that he might have caught Mason and the others.

So Toomes put down Schultz and Brice in advance, while he swaggered in with his high-tech wings, preparing to attack Peter from both sides.

If it were Peter from before, he might really be in a hurry right now.

But now Peter was a warrior who had experienced several small and large actual battles, and he had gradually become familiar with the suit's functions.

If Toomes thought he could kill Peter this way, he was underestimating him.

Peter's figure turned around a pillar, suddenly stopped, and stuck behind the pillar.

Various attacks from bullets, micro-missiles, energy bombs, and a strange force field weapon covered the pillar where Peter was hiding in an instant.

Even Peter had to admire them, these guys were really geniuses.

Forget about the previous ones, how could they even create force field weapons?

However, this did not affect his arrest.

Peter slid along the pillar to the ground, suddenly put his hand behind his back, and stuck it out from the pillar's edge.

Whoosh!

Several spider web bombs were launched.

These spider web bullets were particularly elastic. They hit the ceiling first and then bounced to the ground.

After three or four repeated bounces, several spider web bombs suddenly appeared next to Schultz and Brice, turning into giant webs.

Plop!

Plop!

The two unlucky guys were once again tied up in spider webs and fell to the ground.

The sound of gunfire also stopped abruptly.

"Idiots!" Toomes cursed secretly when he saw his two men lost their fighting ability again.

But he didn't dare come down to rescue them.

Through the thermal camera, he could see that Peter had been behind the pillar now.

But he had the means to accurately capture his two men.

This made him no longer dare to underestimate this supposedly young Spider-Man.

"Spider-boy, you and I are not in conflict, why do you suddenly come to trouble me?" Toomes suddenly said loudly.

He couldn't beat him, so he tried to solve this inexplicable dispute with words.

It really was baffling.

He still didn't know where he provoked Spider-Man.

He just felt that there was something wrong with Spider-Man's brain, which was why the kid stayed up late at night to bother him.

"I'm saving you, Mr. Toomes," Peter said. "If you continue like this, it won't be me, but the special forces. When the time comes, they will give you a hard time!"

Toomes' expression changed. For a moment, he didn't expect that Peter even knew his name: "So, I still have to thank you?"

"Theoretically, that's the case," Peter said, "Stop it, Mr. Toomes. Otherwise, there will be agents everywhere out there!"

"Huh, you are just a little kid who doesn't understand anything!" Toomes said coldly, "There are too many greedy rich people! Do we poor people deserve to be bullied by them? Oppressed by them? No, never! I established this to give us a way to survive! If you want to stop me, I will kill you!"

Peter sighed: "Don't be stupid, this is just your ego talking. Just for comfort. If you just want to make money, with the technology you have, you can do other things, but you choose to sell weapons! Do you know how many people you will kill in the end? How many innocent citizens will have their homes destroyed?"

"Do you have any family members? Can you imagine that they were sleeping at home, and suddenly their home was destroyed by a powerful energy weapon because gangsters took you in the crossfire, and even their family members died! Can you imagine?"

Peter became more and more excited.

He thought of a scene he saw when he merged with the Noir Spider-Man.

In that dark world, something like this happened: a dilapidated apartment filled with people suddenly caught fire one night, and a little girl burned to death.

It may seem simple, but the story behind it was so dark that it was suffocating.
