Ep.38 Meeting the Grames Family Pt2

The next day Mike woke up next to Raiu in the lounge area of his store and tried his best to clear his mind but his thoughts were being occupied with him imagining how the evening will unfold as not only will he have to sit down with his enemy but also his father

Raiu sensed this from her bond with Mike and said as she laid her massive head on mikes lap and looked up at Mike

'Master, what's wrong? Are you alright?'

Mike closed his eyes and started to remember his mother on a hospital bed hooked up to life support and said as he held his hand on Raiu's head

"It's nothing… just the past reminding me about my mother"

Just then a knock was heard on the front door before Mike ignored it and got up to go do some crafting before he heard Christine say as she knocked on the door again

"Mike! I know your there! Open up! I got something for you"

Mike walked up to the blinds and saw Christine standing there holding a couple of bags as if she went shopping for hours on end even though it wasn't even noon yet

Mike unlocked the door and let Christine in before he closed it as said

"What are you doing here?"

Christine placed her bags on the counter before handing Mike two bags and a shoe box and said

"He(mikes father) came by and told me that you would need some formal dress wear and some dress shoes for the evening today so here I am now put those on"

Mike looked in the bags and said with a smile on his face

"Remember the old days when you dared me and jimmy to wear all the clothes you made for us for a week?"

Christine smiled and said as she started sorting through the bags she brought

"Yeah I remember it, you and jimmy made the schools front page for the whole week"

Mike smile and said as he held his hand out to Christine

"Want to meet her?"

Christine's eyes widened before she saw Raiu resting in the lounge area and said in awe as she looked at Raiu while Raiu looked up at her

"S-Shes gorgeous, how old is she?"

Mike scoffed and said as Raiu slowly moved towards Christine

"A few weeks old I think? I dunno"

Christine looked at Mike in shock as she didn't believe the colossal snake in front of her was only a few weeks old before Raiu started to play with Christine before Mike asked her

"How's Jimmy? He couldn't make it?"

Christine kept playing with Raiu when she said

"Shorty after you left blazing down the road he said that he had to help you out, I only saw him this morning after that"

Mike was curious about what jimmy was doing before he said to Raiu as she kept tickling Christine with her tail while licking her face

'Be nice with my friend and don't eat her'

Raiu said as she continued to play with Christine before Mike entered the crafting room to change into his new clothes he got from Christine

'Alright master! I'll be here playing!'

Once Mike entered the crafting room he immediately saw the Assassin android sitting in a meditation position with a cable attached to the back of its head and said as he began to change into the clothes Christine had brought Him

"System, what's that cable on the Assassin androids head"

The system responded saying as Mike continued getting dressed since he was instructed to be at the Hunters Initiative at 2:pm sharp later that day by the chairman

Just then as Mike was about to ask the system a question about the Assassins level, the system showed Mike a status board of the Assassin Android

Mike noticed the empty skill slot and asked the system as he was putting on his new pair of dress shoes

"What skill should I give the Assassin Android?"

The system pulled out of mikes inventory a [Speed boost] and a [Moon Walking] skill book and said

[it is my recommendation to teach it one of these skills for more mobility]

Mike smiled at the recommendation and said as he was putting on his tie

"For the first of many to come I'll want it to be my shadow so have it learn the [Moon Walking]"

Once Mike had finished getting dressed he went back out to the lounge area to find Raiu coiled around Christine while Christine looked to be have a relaxing time under Raiu till she and Raiu saw Mike and Christine managed to grab a pair of keys from her pocket and stick out her hand from under Raiu's coil and said as she tossed them over to Mike

"Take these since I doubt you got a house fit for Raiu here and just so you know, if you die I keep Raiu"

Mike looked at Christine for a while before he looked at the keys and said

"Well where is this new home?"

Christine chuckled and said as she started to pet Raiu's long white neck as Mike noticed a small engraving of a yin and yang symbol on the key

"You'll know where it is"

Just then Mike had a flashback of his mother handing off the keys he was currently holding to someone unfamiliar and said to Christine as he held the keys in front of her

"Where did you get this?"

Christine waited a moment before she said

"Those were given to me by Him(mikes father) as he said 'give these to Mike for me as he should be needing a new house for him and his familiar' so just use them"

Mike wanted to throw the key's away but the house it unlocked held a lot of sentimental value for him so Mike attached the key to his car keys and turned around to Christine and said

"Can you keep Raiu company for the day I gotta go somewhere"

Christine started to pull Raiu out the door as much as she could as she waved Mike off saying

"I'll look over Raiu for you so go on already but I keep Raiu if you die"

Mike chuckled before he told Raiu once the connection was made between him and Raiu

'Stay with Christine till I come back'

Raiu instead of being sad and depressed about Mike going away was happy and excited before Raiu said as Christine somehow managed to pick Raiu up and put her in the back of her truck

'Don't worry master, I will be good with my new friend'

Mike chuckled and locked up the shop before hopping into his car and driving off to the hunters initiative headquarters where he saw Jim and his father waited outside right next to the doors before Jin saw Mike and waved hello and said after Mike rolled down the window

"Hey little Mikey, sweet ride"

Mike became frustrated and pointed at Jim and yelled saying

"Don't call me that! Just call me Mike!"

Jin was surprised by the anger before mikes father took a few steps forward and was about to say something to Mike when he rolled up the window before Jin turned to mikes father and said

"What did you do? He's very angry"

James turned to Jin and said as he went back to waiting where he was

"I gave him the house keys to my old place"

Jim felt disappointed and said

"Aww I did like that house oh well, it was meant for him through so I guess I didn't have a choice to live there"

James held Jin's hand and said

"Don't worry my love, you'll have to tell Sam about this later tonight while I'm out with Mike and the chairmen"

Just then the doors to the Hunters initiative opened and the chairmen was walking out when he said

"Are my ears burning? Hello James"

James turned shook the chairmen's hand and pointed to Mike after saying

"Hello, my son is waiting over there"

The chairmen looked to see Mike in his car with the passenger side window half way down to just reveal his face and said as he stared at Mike

"Well let's hope for the best"

Mike lowered the window and said to the chairmen before pointing to his dad for a moment

"Good afternoon Mr.Chairmen, we can take my car while HE can use his ride"

The chairmen would've been surprised to see Mike not wanting to give his own father a lift but he knew Mike hated his father and sighed before he asked Mike politely

"We on the clock for our arrival to the Grames Family compound, what can I do to make you tolerate you driving with your father"

Mike leaned forward to see his father still waiting at the front door of the Hunters headquarters and said

"I want new high quality dungeon equipment since I'll have to as I'm going dungeon diving next week providing I'm still alive by then"

The life in the chairmen's eyes faded before he grudgingly said

"Very well"

Mike gave a slight smile before he honked the horn and yelled after getting his dad's attention

"Get in! But you will not speak a single word is that understood?"

James gave a nod and jumped into the back seat where Mike could see him before the chairmen hopped in and entered the destination of the Grames Family compound and they drove off

At some point during the ride after what seemed like hours of uncomfortable silence Mike heard a slight buzz noise in his ear only to see in the rear view mirror that mikes father hasn't even moved and inch while the chairmen was doing something on his phone and shrugged it off before he heard it again only slightly louder than before

Just the the navigator said to take a left hand turn when there was a metal gate with armed guards there and heard the chairmen say

"It's right there and remember Mike, remain calm"

Mike scoffed and said after quickly pointing to his father

"That all depends on what he says tonight"

Once Mike had stopped at the gate he heard the buzzing noise once again only much much louder than earlier before one of the guards knocked on the window and asked once Mike rolled down the window

"What's your business here?"

The chairmen leaned over and said to the guard

"Hunter Chairman John halsin here to meet Mr.Calvin Grames"

The guard walked away as he started to talk on his radio before the gates opened and the guard waved them through and Mike continued till he saw a enormous white mansion at the end of the road with a row of blurry figures that were hard to see till Mike drove down the dirt road and stopped outside the front door before the chairmen and mikes father exited the car with Mike following behind them before hearing the chairmen say as he and mikes father bowed to an elderly man who definitely looked over 100 years old from the white hair,wrinkly face and skin

"Greeting sir"

Mike quickly followed the chairmen's lead and bowed before he heard the old man say

"We are honoured to have you as our guest as the chairman of the Hunters initiative is always welcome to visit but who are these two gentlemen with you?"

The chairmen raised his said slowly and said

"This is James Xailin and Mike grant"

Just as then as as Mike was about to say hello he heard another buzzing noise as if a bee was flying around mikes ear before he stood up straight and said with his father as well in unison

"Good afternoon"

The elderly man gave a slight bow and said as he walked up the stairs to the front door

"Thank you for coming I am the Family head of the Grames family, Calvin Grames and I will be your host for this evening"

Mike took a deep breath and tried to imagine some happening thoughts before him, James and the chairmen followed him inside the mansion
