Ep.23 Calm before the storm

After Mike had woken up the next day he patted Raiu's head and went to the kitchen to make breakfast only to see a half eaten apple with some snake bite marks and a can of pop in the fridge that was opened before Mike opened his hand to Raiu and said as Raiu slithered up mikes arm into his shirt

"Let's go do some shopping before we open the store"

Mike then put on his jacket and got on his bike and drove to the supermarket downtown and saw someone slightly familiar down the road before Mike got a closer look and said as he stopped next to the man

"Hey! Uncle!"

The man who turned out to be his Uncle James turned around and said after seeing Mike

"Mike? Oh my goodness, how are you?"

Mike smiled and said as he hopped off the bike and hugged his uncle

"I'm feeling fantastic, what have you been up to?"

Uncle James said as he showed a photo of him and a few other of his friends at a construction site

"I opened my own construction company shortly after the dungeon's started appearing, by the way how are you holding up after you woke up"

Raiu poked its head out of mikes sleeve and mike said with a smile

"I've been great oh and this is my familiar Raiu"

Uncle James looked at Raiu and backed up a little before he said

"You... you have a familiar? Does that mean you're a hunter?"

Mike nodded before Raiu slithered back into mikes sleeve and mike said as he hopped back on his bike

"I got to go get some food, want to come?"

Uncle James shook his head and said

"Sorry but I have to go see a friend today for my company but I'll come by later tonight to talk"

Mike nodded and said before he left

"If you visit later then I won't be there till about 10pm since I have to tend to my shop just down the road"

Uncle James was about to asked Mike a question but Mike drove off before he could and caused uncle James to smile and said to himself as he took out a picture of him and mikes mother and held it over his chest

'He's safe Martha, I will keep my promise this time'

Once Mike had reached the supermarket Mike whispered to Raiu who had its head next to mikes ear

'Don't come out unless I say okay'

Raiu responded by licking mikes earlobe and hid back in mikes jacket before Mike got off the bike and entered the supermarket and started looking for some groceries when a little boy came up and said

"Hi mister"

Mike looked down and saw the boy before he looked around and said

"Hey little man, where are your parents?"

The little boy looked around and said

"Umm mama said that if I got lost I should stay where I am for her to find me"

Mike looked at the front desk and said before he picked up the little boy and made their way to one of the cashier's

"Let's go get you your mama"

The little boy looked at Mike and said as he stuck out his hand to Mike

"My name is Jason"

Mike smiled and said as he shook Jason's hand

"Hi Jason, my name's Mike"

Once they reach the front desk mike said as he held Jason

"Hi, jason here has lost his mother somewhere in the store so can you make an announcement for his mother?"

The cashier looked at Jason and nodded before he made an announcement over the store speakers

:"hello and good evening shoppers if their is a parent looking for their son named Jason then please come the the front desk thank you":

Mike notice Jason was looking at a lollipop and said as he grabbed two lollipops

"I'll but these"

The cashier scanned them and gave them both to mike before mike gave one of them to Jason and said as they sat down on a bench

"So what do you want to talk about while we wait for your parents?"

Jason saw a picture of a lion and said

"I like the wilderness but my mama doesn't want me to go camping"

Mike nodded and said as Jason started to enjoy his lollipop

"The wilderness can be a dangerous place with hundreds of predators that can hurt you like snakes for instance or even a lion"

Jason made a snake like gesture and said before he continued to enjoy his lollipop

"I have a snake at home that my dad bought for me that I named Jerry so I'm not afraid of snakes"

Mike smiled and got on one knee and said before Raiu slowly showed its head to the little boy

"I have the pet snake too it's name is Raiu, come say hi Raiu"

Jason looked at Raiu in awe and said as he slowly waved to Raiu

"So pretty"

Just then a women was heard saying

"Where's my son, his name is Jason"

The previous cashier pointed to Mike and Jason just as Raiu hid back into mikes sleeve and said

"He's waiting for you there"

The mother quickly ran over and hugged Jason tightly and turned to Mike and said with a Few tears in her eyes

"Thank you so much"

Mike smiled and crouched down and said as he patted Jason's head

"Be safe you hear?"

Jason said before he and his mother left the store

"I will mister, bye bye"

Mike smiled and continued on with his day and got his groceries and put them in his dimensional storage after paying before he left and went back home and got ready to go to his shop to do some crafting before he had to open up the store for the day
