Trouble's first signs

Zuwena's P.O.V

Today marks three weeks: three weeks of me as Mr. Casper's stylist, and three weeks without seeing him. He left the next morning after getting me out of the mall, and I'm sick of it. For the past three weeks, I have been unable to concentrate on anything, including my work. I have a brunch date with my aunt today, but I feel like not going. I just want to go to bed and have a cup of coffee before sleeping or watching a movie, but I can't tell my aunt that. She'd come in and yank me from my bed.

So, since I don't have a choice, I will start getting ready. Mrs. Lydia introduced me to the men who would be accompanying me on my journey. It wasn't the first time I'd been exposed to a bodyguard situation, so I wasn't surprised that it was this time. This time there were ten of them in total, which seemed excessive, but I couldn't say anything. Arriving at the restaurant, my aunt was already seated, and I was hugging and tearing up as I realized how much I missed her; she appeared to be in excellent health. The waiter came over to our table and handed me a menu. I asked him to give me a minute to check it out. When I realized I couldn't find anything I recognized on the menu, I double-checked it and found the smoothie category, thanking God that I didn't end up embarrassing my lovely aunt.

After a moment, when I was ready to order, the waiter came back to get the order. After a short moment, he came with my order, and he left us with another menu as well. "So tell me everything." She said this as I prepared my mind to begin telling her everything that had happened in the nearly four weeks since I was thrown outside of my father's house in the middle of the night with my only biological father. This is a little strange because people may not believe something like that is possible, but I am living proof of such a situation.

I began telling the story from the time I returned home after she deposed me in the doorway until Mr. Casper disappeared. I refer to it as "disappearing" because I didn't receive any goodbyes or anything else to prepare me for his departure.

I shouldn't have taken you to that house in the first place. Your father will hear from me. This has to come to an end. How can he look after other people's children while neglecting his own? "Angry," she said. Oh, Zu, I am so sorry. Please forgive me. I had no idea he was so cold-hearted. I thought he had changed. She said, "He never changes a bit." I informed her. My aunt emphasized meeting Mr. Casper and thanking him for everything he had done for me during our brunch date. She spent the entire brunch with me daydreaming about us being in love. which I found amusing because I tried to avoid the subject and she kept bringing it up again and again and continuing to make fun of me.

After brunch with my aunt, I returned to the estate and was greeted by Matthew, one of the estate's bodyguards. He asked me to follow him, which I wanted to refuse. But he persisted in pursuing me, and I eventually found myself trailing behind him. He motioned for me to get in the car and accompany him. I did, and the car started moving. He attempted to strike up a conversation with me, but I was not in the mood for it. He got the memo and turned on some music, which was fortunate. Reaching the proper location, I was surprised to see a beautiful black horse in the middle of nowhere. The house looks very small when one is far away, but the house was big. Oh, my goodness, the house was gorgeous. Mathew opened the door for me. I asked him which house it was, and he told me to follow him. The place was heavily guarded. The guard at the door opened the door for us, and we got into the house. I met Mrs. Lydia in the doorway, who was giving orders to some of the maids, but all were new faces.

I kept following Matthew. He opened one of the doors upstairs, where there were people standing and others sitting. This appeared to be an office. Mr. Memphis was one of them, and he sat behind the desk in the room. As soon as I walked in, they all stopped talking and stared at me, which I didn't appreciate. Memphis motioned for me to take a seat in one of the room's chairs, which I eventually did. As Memphis got closer to me, the people in the room began to evacuate. Things did not turn out the way we had anticipated. He stated tiredly, "This shocked me." I was not ready to get that type of information from him. There were some issues. That's why Matthew brought you here in the first place. he said. You aren't safe on the estate anymore. Casper will be here in a matter of minutes. He will explain everything to you. But you need to help him. Everything will become clearer as time passes. He said, "These words confused me, as I had no idea what he was saying." "You only have him to trust." "Trust me, everything will be revealed in the end," he added. Everything will become clearer as time passes.

"Love?" Somebody entered the office. Yes, he answered quickly. I turned around to see a very beautiful redheaded pregnant woman. She was stunning. However, she is extremely pregnant. She appears to be on the verge of giving birth at any moment. Memphis rose to greet her as soon as she entered the room. They both looked so good together. with hazel eyes and blue eyes. This woman is beautiful.

"I have been waiting for you; you cannot imagine," the woman said. It turned out that the woman was none other than Memphis' wife, Elena. The woman had a completely different appearance than the one with whom we had previously conversed. She is more beautiful in person. She didn't look anything like she did the last time we FaceTimed. She had black hair then; now it's red. Elena began to make a list of all the activities she wanted us to participate in together. But then I began to fear the worst because she was heavily pregnant, and I believe she will be unable to participate in all of the activities she had planned. But I kept my mouth shut. I couldn't muster the courage to say anything.

Elena and I were sitting in the kitchen after Elena abducted me from Memphis' office. One of the staff members was making coffee for us. How about we go shopping tomorrow? She asked. I focused all of my attention on her, and she asked the same question again. I tried to make excuses, but all I did was nod. I promise it will be so much fun. She also added: "As Ellena continued to tell me different stories about Casper, the maid brought me coffee." I was very surprised at how close they are, which is odd because the first time I saw them talking, they were nowhere near as close as she claimed. She kept describing how wonderful Casper was. And what an outstanding leader he was! This made me reflect on what she had said.

As we sat still charting, Casper appeared, covered in blood. He appeared to be very pale at the same time, which was perplexing. I had never seen him like this. which raised concern because he appeared to be in serious pain. I stood up directly to check him out. All of the people in the room were asked to evacuate as I approached to assist him. The maids rushed out of the room. He ended up sitting on one of the chairs. One of his facial scars healed almost instantly, which caused me to scrub my eyes to verify that my mind was not playing tricks on me. It seemed strange and inhuman to me. It was a little frightening to watch. Memphis noticed my befuddlement and requested that Elena remove me from the kitchen. which I flatly refused to go with her and demanded information about what I was witnessing. Ellena asked Casper directly to tell me the truth, which surprised me because I didn't think they had any secrets between them.

You can't keep lying to her. Ellena told Casper. It is not like I am telling her any lies. Casper said tiredly, " This will be less difficult. Ellena advised him that it was better if he did it himself rather than being told by others. Casper asked me to accompany him while Memphis took a seat next to his wife. I followed Casper. He asked me to sit down first as he led me to one of the rooms, stating that this entire revelation would be too much for me to handle. Of course, I refused, as I was too nervous to sit down. After seeing me stand impatiently, he said, "Let's get to the point then."

As I previously stated, I am not human. "This confuses me," he said. So, what exactly are you, an animal? I asked sarcastically. He began approaching me in slow, calculated steps, and I backed away with each step he took, but he continued to take each step after another. At this point, he was freaking me out with his actions, which reminded me of those animals being hunted on TV. So what are you then? I asked, trying to get the answer. "I am your mate," he said firmly. Okay, we can be buddies. I said back to him, not getting what he meant. No, not buddies. He said this after reaching where I was and cornering me in one of the corners of the room.

You are my soul mate, my bride. He said this while brushing my hair out of my face, and this action took every fiber in my body to avoid giving in to his touch. "What does that mean, though?" I inquired, perplexed, as he appeared to be becoming increasingly perplexed. "At least you know what a bride is, right?" He said it jokingly, and I rolled my eyes at him. That means you and I were meant to be together, to marry and raise a family together; you are my other half, who will be loved, cherished, and protected by me for all eternity. He elaborated. That also means you're all mine, he declared, possessively. I was taken aback by this. I broke free from his grip and told him what was on my mind.

"I am not yours." This surprised him, and when he tried to approach me again, I dogged all his moves and repeated the sentence: "I am not yours or anyone else's." I am not property or an animal to be owned. And if there's nothing else to say, please excuse me, I said, trying to get out of the room as he tried to stop me, which he eventually gave in to, and I stepped out of the room and asked the maid in one of the open rooms to assist me in finding my room in the house so I could get some much-needed sleep. The maid led the way and directed me to a room across the hall. The room was a little dark, but that didn't bother me. I preferred a room that was as far away from Casper as possible.

When I entered the room, I was surprised to find all of my belongings already in place, including my clothes in the closet. There were many clothes in the closet, as well as a variety of shoes in various colors and styles, ranging from heels, flats, sneakers, and sandals. Everything looked expensive. As a result, I avoided touching anything that wasn't mine, as I couldn't afford to destroy anyone's property. I quickly changed into my pajamas and retired to my bed. I needed to think about everything that had happened with Casper on my own.
