Aaron flew through the air, Coranth on his back like some demonic child package ready to be dropped into a war. By that, I mean that Coranth was screaming like a banshee as Aaron sped through the air. He had a smile on his face as he listened to the shrieks of a scared and excited child. Honestly, Aaron couldn't tell the difference. He should really go figure out what sets them apart. After all, if they were so similar, he should probably learn how to tell one apart from the other.
Aaron spotted a small town on the ground that intrigued him. "Coranth, stop yelling for a second. Is that the town down there?" Aaron asked, listening to Coranth as he slowly stopped yelling and answered his question. "Yes, that is the right place, but you don't have to go so fast! I don't think the transport line goes this fast!" Coranth responded, admitting that he was shocked. "It might, Coranth. The only reason you feel the high speeds now is because you aren't covered by a large box or something along those lines." Aaron explained, speeding up slightly. It was funny to just watch as Coranth eyes opened in horror at the realisation that he was speeding up. "What are you doing?!" Coranth yelled at Aaron as he laughed. "Brace for impact!" Aaron yelled, divebombing towards the town, Coranth screaming louder and louder as they got closer and closer to the ground, Aaron speeding up as he got closer to the ground, never reaching terminal velocity. The dirt hit their eyes like a blur of colours, everything shifting around them as he landed.
That's what would have happened. Aaron hadn't actually planned on divebombing into a crowd of people and houses. The pair appeared back in the air, Aaron laughing while Coranth looked like someone who had pissed himself in fear. He hadn't, but his expression was that of one. "Aaron, what the fuck?!" Coranth yelled at him, slapping Aaron in the back of the head. "No need to get physical!" Aaron responded, unhurt by Coranth's slap. "I wasn't going to let anything happen to you! I wanted to scare you. Mainly because I thought it'd be funny." Aaron admitted, chuckling as he said it. "My plan worked."
"Haha. That was a funny joke, Aaron. Now, are we going to go to the Forest of Trepidation or not? We can collect some stuff from the monsters you kill, which we'll be able to sell once we complete the job." Coranth deadpanned, showcasing that he wasn't amused while pointing out the ability to make money. "Now you're speaking like a businessman," Aaron replied, smiling. 'This man is 'bunaithe' if you want to speak my natural language.' Aaron said to himself in his head. He was calling Coranth based, which was a nice compliment. "Alright. Do we need to stop into the town, or can we just head right into the forest?" Aaron questioned Coranth. "I don't see any reason for us to need to go into the town until we finish the quest," Coranth responded. "Just fly into the forest. I'm pretty sure nobody will try and hunt us down for entering an infested forest."
That was all the confirmation that Aaron needed. He slowly descended towards the ground, aiming for the dirt beside the forest. As he got closer to the ground, he realised how big this forest actually was. It wasn't like watching Soul walk through the forestry on the last planet. It was much more like he had just swam beside the titanic, noting its incredible size. "Heh. This forest is large as all hell." Aaron said to himself, cracking his knuckles as his feet touched the ground, a smile breaking out on his face. "Well, that may be why it has so many monsters in it." Aaron continued, Coranth jumping off of his back.
"Aaron. Remind me to never accept a piggyback from you again. Ever." Coranth told Aaron, who did a little salute to him as he started walking into the forest. Aaron was curious to see what kind of monsters were lurking in here. Aaron found it interesting to see what creatures made their homes inside such areas. After all, it's not like they had the most advanced society. Everyone had to fend for themselves without exception. "This is kind of nostalgic, actually," Aaron said to himself, recalling his first experiences after his first death. He'd gotten used to the term 'first death' as if it was a normal thing for most people. "Me as a skeleton, dying for the second time, and being granted a second chance by the one called N. It hasn't even been that long, in all reality." Aaron continued, walking through the forest, his voice getting louder the further he travelled. "I was a goner. A monster that far outclassed me came and took my life, only for me to get a third chance at life." Aaron clarified, noting the scurrying of insects along the ground, crawling along with the fallen forest leaves and his shoes. "And, after quite a bit of bloodshed, I'm here, and so is Soul." Aaron finished, Soul jumping out from his tear ducts like the deployable force he was.
"Yeah, and because of certain acts and other things, I exist." Soul further explained as he turned around to face Coranth, his body swapping between different versions of him that have existed. There was the first one with the creepy, toothed face. The second one that had the slight smirk followed. Lastly, the one with a smile, his current version. He had gone through changes. "I've had multiple different iterations of myself over the time I've existed. I am refining my appearance constantly, allowing myself to become whatever I want." Soul told Coranth, a black spike of Corruption spiking a tree behind Coranth. A hellish screech was heard, a treehugger's blood stained upon his Corruption. Aaron turned around to see the treehugger, noting that it looked like a bony human. It had no hair or texture upon its flesh as if it was a corpse that had skin draped over the top.
"And now, the quest begins."
