Amira's pov

"Stay behind me." The handsome stranger whispered and winked at me. I know it's not the time to get hyped up about that cool gesture but it made some butterflies roam around my stomach. "Close your eyes and don't move."

I did stay behind him while holding my breath and waited till it's over. However, my curiosity got the best of me. I peeped under the small gap under his arm and caught a glimpse of the other person's head, casually rolling on the red carpet.

I'm not sure if I yelled before everything went black but waking up on my own bedroom and laying on my single mattress bed while wearing my pajama set after that made me think everything that has happened up until now are just a long ass dream.

My muscles on the other hand feels sore especially around the back of my lower legs. It's like I've performed a twenty-four-kilometer Penitential Walk on Holy Week.

The smell of freshly brewed coffee and the cackling of fried bacon filled the air and interrupted my train of thoughts. As expected, my stomach instantly reacted like a famished animal and gave me the will to sit over the fluffy white bed.

The clock ticking over the bedside table caught my attention and shocked my half asleep brain once I realized it was still six in the morning.

The weather seems to be on a bad mood but at least it's just the wind and no rain yet. Although that would mean I have to bring the laundry to the laundromat to dry them completely.

A knock from the door grabbed my eyes off of the gadget. The door opened and Lara showed up with her casual clothes, specifically a sleeveless grey body hugging rockstar shirt and blue jeans shorts under a baby bear designed black apron.

"Hey bes, I made you breakfast because I have a date today." She said so enthusiastically and I can't help but feel even more depressed.

"Thank you." I simply said and lazily dragged my body towards the bathroom sink. I brushed my teeth and gargled afterwards because I got used to doing my morning routine before eating even if everyone else thinks it's just too vain of me.

I can't explain but I always feel my mouth is dirty even when I cleaned it before I sleep at night.

Once I finished washing my face, she helped me fix my hair and snaked her left arm on mine to guide me to the kitchen on the second floor of her family's antique shop.

"Why do you look like you're dying?" She teased pulled the corner wooden chair of a six-seater antique table for me and I sat down without looking around.

"I don't really know. I feel so exhausted for some reason." I sighed and watched her stick her forehead to mine.

I'm well aware she did it to check my temperature but the gap between our faces made me uncomfortable and I'm worried that she'll notice and misunderstand because she's been doing this since we were kids.

"Thank god there's no fever." Lara sighed in relief. "I almost thought you caught a virus when you have never been sick in your entire life."

I've always wondered why that is as much as hers however, the doorbell rang downstairs and she immediately stripped the apron off then asked me if she still looks good because someone else is joining us for breakfast.

"W-wait, no one ever joins us for breakfast, let alone this early-"

"Well my date insisted to fetch me on this time of the day so I thought why not invite him to eat with us before we leave."

"Is he… the one?" I think I choked on saying that.

"I think so." She smiled widely. "I'm sure you'll like him."

Her reaction piqued my interest so I let her go downstairs by herself. I peeked at the top of the staircase to check the person out beforehand, only to find out that he's the one I met last night.
