Haru didn't know what had happened on the "group chat" since he was busy preparing dinner. Cooking might be his hobby, and it relaxed him.
"Were you busy earlier?"
Hearing that question, Haru didn't turn and kept cooking the dinner while answering her question.
The one who asked that question was his only little sister.
She sat down on the sofa holding both her school books while looking at Haru. She waited for him to answer her question since she knew that he was working inside his room earlier.
"It's alright. I finished writing my manuscript earlier. I'm quite free now," Haru said.
"Hmm..." She nodded hearing Haru's answer.
Sora Kasugano.
That's the name of his little sister. She is a very beautiful young girl. She has gray eyes, silver hair, and very white skin. She has a perfect, doll-like appearance and is often seen as a fragile and weak girl.
Sora looked at him and waited for him to say something.
Haru knew what Sora wanted him to say and asked, "Do you want to go out tomorrow?" After asking that question, he brought the plate which he used to plate the dinner.
"Is that alright?" Her face betrayed her tone. She seemed very happy when he had invited her to go out.
"Yeah. Let's go out. It has been a while since both of us have gone out together," Haru said while walking to the dinner table.
"Good! Let's go out tomorrow!" Sora seemed very excited.
Haru nodded and said, "Come here. Eat your dinner first, and don't eat too many snacks at night."
Sora nodded and stood up walking toward the dinner table. She would eat her dinner, but she would also eat her snack later after dinner. She couldn't get fat no matter how much she ate, and it didn't really matter if she ate a lot of things.
Looking at Sora, Haru really wondered whether he had spoiled her too much.
Sitting down together, both of them started to eat dinner. They were about to talk about their outing plan tomorrow, but his phone vibrated.
"Sorry."
Haru took out his smartphone and noticed that it was from his job. "Sorry, I need to get this." He stood up and walked to the balcony to answer his editor's call, but he was stopped.
"Can you answer it here?" Sora asked.
Haru thought for a while but nodded. He answered the phone and asked, "What's wrong, Machida-san?"
"Haru. I've received the manuscript. It's good."
"Thank you. If so, can I end the phone? My dinner is going to go cold."
"Wait! I have something to talk about with you."
"What's wrong?"
"Can you go to the office tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow?"
Haru turned and saw Sora's expression was very bad at this moment.
Sora dropped her spoon on her plate before walking away from the dinner table. Walking to her room, she smashed the door creating a loud sound.
*Baam!*
"............."
Haru sighed.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?" Machida asked since she heard a loud sound.
Haru shook his head and said, "Can it be two days later? I've something to do tomorrow." He had promised Sora to go out tomorrow after all and he knew once she got angry it was quite troublesome.
"It won't be long, please!!"
Machida begged with a cute voice.
'28 years, and with that cute voice?'
Haru was speechless, but he had to admit that it was very effective on him.
"What's wrong?" Haru asked.
"I want you to meet with the new author from our publisher."
"I'm not interested," Haru said and was about to end the phone, but...
"Wait! She seems to know you," Machida said.
"She? The author is a girl?" Haru asked.
"Yes. It seems that she's your ex who you abandoned a long time ago. She seems to want to meet you again or else she will cause me a lot of trouble....." Machida took a deep breath and said, "Haru, please...."
".............."
Haru took a deep breath and said, "I'll go to your office tomorrow." He didn't know who this ex-girlfriend was since he had a lot of girlfriends in the past, but he didn't really mind meeting her.
"Good!" Machida seemed very happy that she was successful.
"I'll talk with you again about the book, but I can see that there's no problem with the book. You might see it three weeks later in the bookstore," Machida said. Haru was one of the best-selling writers in her company, and of course, the faster he released the book the better it was for everyone.
"Thank you very much."
"You don't need to thank me. It's my job."
Machida thought that Haru was really a good young man if only he didn't have too many girlfriends in the past, but it seemed that he had changed.
They talked for a while before the call ended.
Haru put his smartphone in his pocket again and made a note on his head to go out tomorrow. He walked to the dinner table and saw that it was quite a mess. He sighed before cleaning it. He didn't continue to have dinner and went to Sora's room.
Knocking on the door of her room, Haru said, "Sora, can I talk with you?"
"............."
Haru took a deep breath and said, "I'm sorry, but we can't go out tomorrow."
*Baam!*
Something was thrown at the door.
Haru sighed and said, "But we can go out the day after tomorrow. This time, I won't break my promise." He waited for a while and the door was slowly being opened.
Sora was looking at him through the gap of the door and asked, "Really?"
"Yes. I promise you."
Sora nodded and seemed quite satisfied.
"Who was that earlier?"
"My editor. Machida. You know her, right?"
Sora nodded and even though she threw a tantrum at him earlier, she was also grateful for him to work for both of them. She came out of her room while looking at Haru. She didn't want to give him to anyone else and wanted him for herself. She nodded and said, "Let's go out the day after tomorrow."
Haru nodded and patted Sora's head tenderly while smiling. "Yes, I need to go to sleep now. You should go to sleep too." He yawned and went back to his room.
Sora didn't go to sleep immediately and kept looking at his book while thinking how good it was to sleep with him. She thought for a while and had made her decision.
---
Laying on his bed, Haru remembered the magic knowledge which had been shared by Yajima. He didn't know whether it would work or not, but it was worth a try. Yawning, Haru thought to look at it tomorrow. He was about to sleep, but the door of his room was knocked on and the door was opened.
"Haru...."
Haru looked at Sora who was holding her rabbit doll. He was a bit confused and asked, "What's wrong Sora?"
"I have a nightmare. Can I sleep with you?" Sora looked at him while holding her doll tight in her hands.
"Come here."
Sora was very joyful inwardly, but she maintained the scared expression on her face. She walked toward him and laid beside him on his bed.
Covering both of their bodies with a blanket, Haru kissed Sora's forehead and said, "Good night." He was quite tired after the appearance of "Dimensional Chat Group" which suddenly appeared on his smartphone. He was wondering whether it would disappear once he had woken up from his sleep the next day.
Smiling, Sora looked at his sleeping face. She thought that he might be really tired and felt quite guilty for throwing a tantrum earlier. She moved closer to him and the distance between the two of them was only a few centimeters away. She snuggled her head on his chest while muttering, "Don't leave me, Haru...." She felt comfortable beside him and entered the land of dream.
