SIGN OF IMPROVEMENT

The shock was an understatement for how she felt at that moment, abruptly being lifted in that way was unexpected. She stared at his face to find any expression. But not an atom of fluctuations was found in his countenance. He still kept that straight and aloof face on while walking to the door like he didn't do anything outside the norm.

Her head was just a few meters below his chin. She glanced wordlessly at him.

He carried her in his arms, all this while his gaze on nothing but in front with that intimidating face of his. Although it felt weird but he had done it once so doing it again will not be that bad right?

Though then she was unconscious, but now is different. She is fully awake and responsive

he had no choice but to do this.

Kamlyn clings to his body as she held him by his neck, it wasn't deliberate because she herself was unaware of her arms around him, it was just her reflex action.

Neither was Ethan cognizant of this, his concentration was all on the path they were going. He did not want to be distracted by looking at her face again. He knew fully well that she had her gaze on him. He wondered if it was because he also felt bad about her parent's loss as they were important to him as well. Maybe that could be the reason he felt that way any time he looked at her. Because they both share the same grief, Yes! that should be it.

He finally found the reason for his strange act. That was what he thought.

He finally arrived at the long and large stairs leading to the living room and then the dinner hall. He tightened his hold around her body as he was alighting the stairs with her in his arms.

Likewise, she did the same, gripping tightly onto his body. She was carried horizontally coming down an elevated level so her fear was understood.

Their arrival caught the attention of everyone seated at the table. They all looked at them with astonishment and unimaginable utterance.

Especially that of Olivia it was a funny sight to witness, Morris and Axel who caught sight of it could barely contend their laugh.

Elina who was in a bad mood earlier smiled widely. She didn't even bother with the fact that kamlyn was in Ethan's arms as she saw the girl was not struggling or protesting at all.

If she knew that this would have been the only way to make her have dinner she would have pleaded with Ethan to do this earlier.

Olivia was astounded, to the point that her mouth was hung loosely so much so that a fly could enter. She eventually took notice of her expression and composed herself instantly.

Ethan arrived at the table with kamlyn, he diverted his steps to his left direction where his mom was seated and where he saw her sit the last time she had dinner with his parents.

He lowered her down on the chair, after making sure she was placed well and was balanced he went back to his seat. Sigh! finally, this was over.

Everyone's eyes never left him, they all trailed their gazes with his movement till he sat back on his seat.

He sat quietly picking up his cutlery as if nothing happened at all.

"Kamy? Kamy?" Elina carefully called out her endearment in a calm voice.

But no response was heard from her, She kept her gaze down at her fingers which were placed on her lap.

Though she was not crying anymore which is supposed to be good news, but her behavior now is not any different from before, She is still as depressed as she was with no single sign of improvement.

Her current behavior broke the hearts of the Lu parents. This state does not suit her one bit, her jovial self was better. But what could they do? It is because of her parent's demise she ended up this way, and the was no way to bring them back.

So they have to say goodbye to the old kamlyn till who knows when she will return.
