-OMNISCIENCE-

Settling by the wasteland's borders are a group of people, some of which are dressed in an ordinary leather jacket and tight sturdy pants, while for a selected few of the group wears a mechanical battle suit that covers their body from the neck until to the tip of their feet. Aside from that large tents are seen erected from the ground, a few stalls of artillery and mechanical blades which are displayed on standby, well organized and ready for use.

Though I doubt it would be used in this chapter.

Walking under the blazing heat of the sun is a man in his thirties dressed in one of the battle suits, he just came out from the largest tent, he looked around for a few minutes before he saw a woman with fiery red hair, a slender body which you can see a hint of firm muscles that is wrapped around by a tight fit battle suit similar to him, and a broadsword besides her.

He felt a bit relieved seeing that she's just on sight, he then continued to walk towards her while holding a holographic glass file and a small envelope, distributed on each of his hands.

"Boss, are you sure we can trust this letter?" The man looked distressed and doubtful as he handed the envelope to the women.

But the woman only shrugged him and assured him with a smile. "We just need to wait."

The woman noticed something's getting closer as the sound of staggering footsteps gets louder and louder. She instantly knew who it was and immediately rolled her eyes in dismay. She looked around and saw a muscular young man with blonde hair and turquoise eyes with dark circles underneath it, walking towards. Despite dressed in his battle suit that is equipped with a natural cooling system, sweat continued to drench his face. She sighed in agreement to her suspicion that it was him, her own brother.

"But we have been waiting since dawn yesterday." Yelled in protest by the man, he felt a strong breeze on top of the boulder where his sister is sitting and proceeded to scuttle beside her.

A few people in leather jackets yelled in agreement, while sipping a huge amount of cold water inside a canister in one go. "What Joshua said is true and it's hot out here boss."

The woman quickly got irritated by the unreasonable qualms of her subordinates, without giving any minute to react, she immediately kicked the initiator away from her side. With a single move, Joshua was sent away a few meters back from where he sat. He rolled a few times on the ground before he felt the pain on his back slapping him in one single time. He stood up and could only look at the person who kicked him in disbelief as he gently massaged his back away from pain.

"Stop yapping! You're acting like a princess since you got a taste of a 'sheltered' life" She clenched her fist and showed to him that she wouldn't hesitate to beat the crap out of him if he were to add up his complaint, in the end Joshua could only pouted as he avoids looking directly at her. The woman sighs in relief and continues talking as she waved the envelope on her hand towards him. "This letter is from Leila."

Joshua's eyes widened from what he heard and rushed forward, snatching the letter from the woman's hands. He immediately examined the envelope and saw a familiar signature behind it.

"You mean from our siblings, the Sidhe tribe?" He looked at his sister in confusion, Joshua suddenly remembered a certain memory in his mind and if not because of this he might have long forgotten it. "Do you communicate with him too?"

He remembered the time when he was still a child and was locked in a dark room for five whole days without food or even a sip of water, he could only survive that time due to his strong body constitution. All of that because he helped his half-brother escape.

"Just Leila." The woman shook her head, she was about to continue when he felt uncomfortable due to her brother snuggling on her back as he examined the envelope. "She. What are you doing?"

"What? I'm curious about that letter. Handwritten letters are hard to see nowadays." Joshua said, but he couldn't hide the disappointment from his face.

She immediately smacked Joshua on the head. "Keep your face away if you don't want it to melt."

Joshua immediately stood up to avoid his sister, he can't take a bet that his sister won't really do what she said, she wasn't known to take back anything she says. He started dusting his cloth and distanced himself from his sister before looking for a place to hide from the sun. As soon he noticed the shadow casted from the boulder where his sister sits on, he immediately went behind it and took shade.

"Okay! Okay, geez." He sat behind the boulder, he stared at the letter for a while before he even started to wonder its contents. "So, what's written on this letter?"

The woman turned around; she looked hesitant if there's a need to tell her brother any of it. It took her a few thoughts before she decided it was best to keep the contents of it. Though the contents might now contain any confidential or even harmful information, in her mind it would be best to tell him when their job is done, because she knows how her brother could easily get excited and It might jeopardize the mission if that ever happens

She held back from telling him the details and only told him a gist of the letter. And after that she snatched the letter back from her brother to prevent him from peeking on it. "She just asked for a favor, a payment for the help I asked from her."

Joshua only looked at her in dismay and decided to let it go since he doesn't have a choice anyway. Though if he's okay to get smacked by his sister then he is very much okay to be stubborn, but he picked a safer route.

"You mean when you overthrow that old man." Joshua said, pointing at the time where they over fought against their father for leadership of the shelter. The very shelter where they invaded long ago. The moment when they confronted their father, the fight they need win, and the lives of their friends that they lost. It's been a few years since then but the event remained fresh in his mind.

"That's right so keep your mouth shut and stand there." Joshua nodded as he did a zipping gesture with his mouth to his sister as a sign of allegiance. And without a choice he followed the instructions and started to walk towards his post.

After staying on place guarding his spot for several days now, Joshua though it would be yet another ordinary day but that's where he's wrong, out of nowhere there's a sudden surge of energy he felt and his surrounding began to change, the momentum of the air swiftly run across from behind him and would have sent him flying if he didn't find a strong anchor in time.

Joshua squinted his eyes and tried to see what's happening. He noticed the fog that is surrounding the wasteland is moving around, circling the area. He can't be certain at what he saw, but he is sure that something is about to happen.

He immediately rushed back to one of the tents where he knew where his sister might be since he didn't see her at the boulder when he checked on his way. He lifted up the tent curtains and sighs in relief that he immediately encountered her.

"Ha~!" He placed his hands on her shoulders before catching his breath. "Um, sister!"

His sister looked uncomfortable and angry when she saw her brother running around the site instead of standing still and keeping his post secure. She started to clench her fist and lift it up for Joshua to see. "Didn't I just say to do your job!"

Joshua immediately dragged his sister out of the tent and using his ability he teleported the two of them back to his post, a strong gust of wind greeted them when they arrived along with a bright red light emitting from the dissipating fog of the wasteland. When Joshua left his post, the wind wasn't that severe and the fog was still thick but now, he could even see the dark trees inside the wasteland.

"But sister, look." Joshua pointed out.

The woman immediately saw the strange phenomena and also panicked, she used the communication device on her wrist and quickly called for everyone on site to be ready. After informing the team, she turned her attention to Joshua who she immediately smacked right on the head.

"What the, if this was happening why didn't you use your wristband." Joshua rubbed his head with painful expression, he can't even refute this time because what she said is true. "Now I want you to get ready and make sure everyone is on their way here. "

"Yes sister." Joshua immediately rushed back to the site and left his sister there standing, observing the strange phenomena in front of her.

The moment Joshua teleported away; the women immediately went forward to examine what's going on. As she got closer her hair started to get tangled up with the wind a number of times, she tied her hair in a messy bun immediately.

Looking at the fog around the wasteland slowly disappearing she can't help but reminisce about the last memory she had with Leila, it was the day after their rebellion with their father, the former leader of the scavengers. The woman needed someone to treat her subordinates and Leila showed up at that exact day, as if she saw it coming. Since then, they kept in touch with one another that was until she received the recent letter.

'This might come as something rude but. Please take care of my brother and his 'friend'. Something will happen at the wasteland. I indicate the week for when it might happen it's at the back of this letter. Just think of this as the payment for saving your men when you killed our father. Thank you -Leila-'

"Leila, what did you see?" She tightly held the envelope in her hand as she entered the wasteland without hesitation.
