The Wrong Crowd

Hitoshi Shinsou is someone almost all his classmates are scared of. Just because of his damned quirk. They won't even talk to him, despite him not asking a question. They'll all lie and tell the teacher he used it on them when he wasn't even in the room at the same time as them. It just got worse the older he was.

Very few people would actually talk to him like a human being. The ones people have labeled as the 'wrong crowd'. He's not entirely sure they're actually bad kids, just the ones nobody wants to talk to. Almost all those kids have some sort of quirk that has been deemed 'useless' or 'villainous' because kids are mean. The kids with the bad families, just looking for a place to be safe and belong.

Everyone in the 'wrong crowd' has always been nice to Shinsou, never once refusing to talk to him, even if it's a question. They always include him in their plans for the weekend, and work on class projects. The one's in different grades would sit with them at lunch. After school they all go to an apartment one of them managed to rent despite being underaged.

He doesn't even question it when one of the kids starts going down the 'wrong path' because they were still his friend. They never do anything to hurt anyone else in the group, so why does it matter if they smoke cigarettes? They've never even offered them to the others. They give you some when you ask for them, though. It takes some time, but the scent and flavor stops bugging Shinsou.

Another friend starts drinking a bit. No biggie, they're in highschool. It's the time to experiment with your likes and dislikes. They don't drive after anything, so it's not like they're putting anyone in danger. They stay at the apartment and sleep it all off. Shinsou decides he likes drinking when they offer some to him one night when he crashed there.

Shinsou's the first one to get piercings and tattoos. He managed to find a shop that doesn't care if you're underaged as long as you pay a little more. The odd jobs he does here and there with the others covers just enough for him to pay upfront. He refused to take them out when the teachers complained about them. Who're they gonna call? He doesn't live with his parents anymore, so they can't do anything about it.

There are days the four of them still in school don't even bother with going. It's a waste of their time, and no one cares if they're there or not anyway. The days they do go they're treated like shit. They'd rather sleep the day away and go party when the sun goes down.

He's 16 when one of the 19 year olds of the group comes back to the apartment with drugs. Just like with the cigarettes, it takes a minute for him to stop hating the smell of everything. Snorting things hurts his nose, so he doesn't do that. He's surprisingly okay with needles.

Their group of six quickly becomes eight when two kids from the grades below end up needing a place to crash for a while. None of them bat an eye before getting another set of bunk beds for the single room they all share.

He's 17 when one of his friends gets handsy when they're at a party. They slip into the filthy bathroom and have some fun. A few smirks and highfives go around when everyone's back at their place and find out what happened earlier. There's even a toast of stale beer for the two of them.

He's 17 when he gets busted for dealing drugs. The others in the group get enough money together for him to make bail after a week. He ends up having to help bail another friend out for murder not long after that. Someone else gets arrested for breaking and entering. No one brings anything related to their arrests up. An unspoken agreement to stay out of eachothers business unless they're directly told or get a call.

Shinsou's 18 when he and one of the others in his grade flunk out. He just shrugs it off and gets a full time job at the parlor as a piercer. His friend becomes the front counter staff. One of their older friends finishes their apprenticeship and becomes a tattoo artist. The three of them manage to get enough steady income to pool together with the others a run fund.

He's 19 when he kills someone for the first time. Just for the Hell of it. He had just gotten his first firearms and wanted to take them out for a test run. One of the younger kids of the group killed the person's friend. 

They ended up needing that fund since someone saw the group. They sprinted back to the apartment and stuffed their duffles with the few things they owned before writing a note to the building's landlord explaining they wanted to get rid of their month-to-month lease.

The eight of them went to a place some random contact recommended to hide out for a bit before hopping on a train to leave. The group went through back alleys and eventually knocked on a door for a bar.

A man covered in scars opened the door and greeted the friend who asked for the recommendation. The two talked once the door was closed and locked behind them. They stayed there for a few days before being given a location for a house a few hours away.

Shinsou was 20 when a group of heroes spotted them trying to get off a train.
