Chapter twenty three 023: DISGUISE

*I put on a disguise just to show you what am not in other to see what you are*

When they arrived at the boutique Adria was taken to the female area to get dressed.

Gu Min sat outside waiting for her.

When she was done she came out, he looked at her, her curly hair looked stretched and the black dress hugged her body at the right areas he smiled sweetly at her as he took her hand.

Adria wanted to hesitate but Akio kept popping up in her head "What about the bill?." she asked

"I already took care of that." he said as he lead her to the car and drove to a tall building not to far from the city park.

When they arrived Adria realized something this place was him. He ordered a few meal for them as they ate he kept stealing glances at her, Adria didn't mind his actions she just wanted this dinner to end as soon as possible.

"Why are you Japan Adria." he asked staring straight at her as though he could see her soul.

Adria coughed immediately, he passed her a cup water which she drank dropping the cup on the table. "I came here to experience a new way of life and to run away from things that I can't control. Most most importantly I came here for peace of mind." She replied honestly.

He smirked "Thought you were gonna lie though, but how far have you found this peace of mind you seek m." He said as he sipped his drink his eyes still on her.

"I can't say." She said

They ate for sometime without talking to each other, when they were done Adria didn't wait for a minute she stood up and began to exit the place. He stared at her leaving and felt this tinge of pain in his heart "what a strange woman she couldn't even say goodbye."

Adria got to the garage, approaching her car she felt someone approaching her, she turned around i was Gu min he seemed difference, the look he gave her was mild.

"W....what are doing here Gu Min you made me scare-."

"What magic have you done ." he said in a husky voice as he slammed his lips against hers.

Adria was stunned, she pushed him off her as she tried to catch her breath "What's wrong with you huh."

Gu Min was surprised by his attitude, he raised his brows at her and apologized.

Adria didn't want to spend another moment with this thug, ignoring him she got into her car and zoomed off.

When she left he walked over to the terrace staring down at the road, he brought out a pack of cigarettes and lite one up, reminiscing what happened he didn't feel sorry at all seems he had been alone to long he smirked "You are now entangled with me Adria there's no way out." he said to himself.

Adria arrived home and saw Asachi in her gate with Sofia.

"Hey Adria."

Parking her car she strolled past them ignoring them, they trailed behind her still. When she got to the house she realized the place was empty that means Haru carried out the task she gave him.

"When did you move Adria." Asachi spoke in surprise.

""Not too long." she replied casually.

Sofia stepped out and greeted Adria "Hey Adria, I heard what happened at work today I'm so sorry most people can be like that sometimes."

"Hm." Adria wasn't used to her yet and Adria was bad at conversations with strangers.

Sofia didn't mind the short reply so she continued "I actually go through almost the same thing in my company, so please don't think that's how Asians are."

"I don't." Adria said simply as she took up one of akio's toy on the floor which must have fallen out during the moving process.

Sofia felt weird as Adria was being cold towards her, she didn't even spare them a glance she didn't even care if Asachi was there.

Adria turned to them " I dont hate Asians. Yan Chen and Akio are Asians, my driver Haru is Asian, so if you don't mind stop making silly assumptions." She said walking out of the house as she went down she observed a black car watching them, she turned and saw Asachi and Sofia approaching her this feeling was familiar she thought to herself as a scene from the past flashed in her eyes.

THE PAST***

Adria had a fight with Ryan, she was about leaving his apartment and was unaware of her surrounding.

"Adria!." She heard Rayn scream her name bu she ignored him still pissed with the fact that he doesn't want to listen to her.

She opened her car and the blink of an eye she was pushed to the ground and all she heard were gun shots and blood splashing on her face.

She looked up to see Rayn getting shot at, she remember how she panicked when she saw the blood dripping from his white shirt.

"Ryan!!!!." She screamed.

If only she had answered to his call, if only she let things go easily.

THE PRESENT ****

Adria turned to Asachi and Sofia, she ran towards towards them pushing both of them to the ground at the back of her car, Asachi and Sofia were stunned and about to complain but immediately they began to her gun shots.

"Stay here." Adria instructed as she tried getting out of the hiding place.

Asachi held her back "Where are you going, Adria this is dangerous."

Adria hissed "Trust me and just stay here." she said as she pulled out her gun from her car, cocking it she stepped out and began to shoot.

In the next moment Asachi saw Haru and another strange dude backing her up to ensure her safety, when the gun fight was over Adria caught one of the guys shooting at her.

"Who sent you." she said with a deadly glare.

The guy refused to speak.

Adria gave a clownish smile "Fine take him." she ordered as they left Adria entered her other car.

Asachi and Sofia who were scared to the breem called out to her. They had no idea what was happening and they don't wish to they only knew Adria and she just saved their life so they are sticking with her.

Adria opened her car and they got in, the car was really quiet, Sofia was really embarrassed that she thought she could compete with her.

"Seat belts." Adria said as drove out of the area.

"Where are we going?." Asachi asked.

"I don't know." Adria replied "It will be dangerous for any of us to head home, they might be more trailing behind us in secret." She said

"What do we do then." Asachi said.

"We need a populated place where there's a lot of people." Sha replied.

"The club." Sofia suggested

Adria turned to look at her "A club???."

"Yh." Asachi backed Sofia up.

"Fine, but I don't know any club around here." Adria stared at the both of them.

"I'll direct you." Sofia said.

"Ok." Adria said as she drove her car, a call came through the connected Bluetooth

"Hello." Sha said

"Boss where are you, I hope your safe." Haru said

"I am, the shadow guard is behind me so you don't have to worry I am fine." She assured

"Ok, ma'am miss Yan Chen want to talk to you." Haru said.

"Put her on."

"Hello Adria what's going on please come back home, I'm really scared and Akio keeps asking of you." Yan Chen said

"I'm gonna come back soon but I need to loose the people trailing behind me ." Adria said

"Please be safe ok." Yan Chen said.

"Hmmm." Adria said

Haru took the phone back "ma'am."

"No matter what you do ensure their safety I'm I clear?." Adria said

"Yes boss." He replied.

Adria disconnected the call.

"You got a shadow guard? Who really are you." Asachi exclaimed.

Adria chuckled softly "I am Santa! Surprise." she said.

"Wow is this why you didn't want me to come too close." Asachi replied

Adria stared at him and then Sofia "Maybe, ain't you both scared huh."

"No I'm not." Sofia said.

"Oh really." Adria smirked as she drove off with full speed.

"I like her." Sofia whispered but everyone in the car heard it

She's not that bad either Adria thought to herself, she is best for him, I guess i don't have to hold the past against him. We are friends and that's what it is and by the way they already got there self involved in her mess it would be wrong to leave them behind.

They arrived at the club, the car which had been trailing behind them stopped too and a young man stepped out of the car and went straight to Adria's car he handed her a bag and got into his car back Adria gave them the bag in the car.

"What's this." they asked as they were scared.

"When we get in there go straight to the bathroom and change those are clothes." Adria instructed.

"A-alright." They replied as they were a bit scared.

They went in and followed her instructions, when they were done they began to look for Adria.

When they caught site of her she was wearing a combat trouser and a hoodie sitting in chair by the bar,she seemed to be looking around probably she was looking for them.

"Hey Adria." they waved at her as they approached her.

"So what do we do now to blend in." Adria asked.

"Well you drink and dance. Umm Asachi please get us some drinks." Sofia said.

"I'll go get it."Asachi said as he left.

Adria watched him leave and turned to Sofia "Speak! what do you want to say."

"Please don't take him away from me, I see the way he looks at you i feel really insecure. I've always loved him from high school when I met him that day at my company my love for him was reborn so please." Sofia said as she felt really defeated through out the day Asachi had his focus on Adria and it kills her she doesn't want her man to love anyone else apart from her.

Adria bust into laughed at Sofia's stupidity which made Sofia surprised, she just stared at her they haven't had any drinks yet so she was sure Adria wasn't drunk.

"Your so funny and you look pitiful omg haha." Adria held her stomach. 'she just had to keep that face we see on tv the puppy eyes and all omg she funny' Adria thought.

Sofia looked down at her hands as spouts her lips, this lady really thinks what she said was a joke.

Seeing the uneasiness on Sofia's face she said "Fine fine I and Asachi has nothing ok I-." she was interrupted by a phone call looking at the caller Id, it was Gu Min.

Asachi brought the drink and gave Adria first before Sofia. Adria sipped the drink while contemplating if she would pick the call or not, a thought crossed her mind so she picked up the call "hello."

"Adria where are you." He just wanted to check up on his new friend per say.

"Umm at a club, why?." Adria replied.

"What club? you don't party." He said as he picked up her files on his table and glanced through it.

"Who said so? huh?." Adria said as she raised her brow.

"Your fil-." he stopped realizing what he was about to say, he looked at the file in his hand again and toss it on the table.

"What I can't hear you." Adria said as she struggled to hear him as the club was bustling.

"I'm coming over there." He said as he picked his car key ready to leave.

"No! don't come." Adriasaid hurriedly.

"Why." He paused waiting for her reply.

"I'll come over." She said with a smirk.

Min was stunned by her reply, he smiled sweetly as he said "I'll be waiting."

Adria ended the call and drank the drink in one go as she smiled sweetly at Sofia..... recalling there conversation which they couldn't complete due to her call and Asachi's arrival.

"Why don't you both go for a dance." Adria offered.

Asachi stared at her " No we can't leave you here alone, it could be dangerous."

"Come on, I'll be here nothing is going to happen me." she said winked at them and took a glass of wine handing it to Sofia who smiled feeling grateful

Asachi later gave in and took Sofia to the dance floor, when they were going Sofia turned back to Adria and whispered "thank you."

Adria smiled at her, watching at them from the distance she felt pity for herself, seeing them dance there looking all loved up, she felt alone but that was reality and she had to come to terms with it. She wish them the very best tho all she could do was cheer them up and ensure there safety.

They had a good time together, Adria had fun watching them act crazy, Sofia got drunk and began to display so they decided to go home. When they stood up to leave, they saw few people pushing the crowd, Adria got really scared.

"What's happening." Adria asked as she reached out for her gun.

"Oh this." Asachi screamed while pointing at the people entering.

"Stop pointing." Ahe slapped his hands seems they both drunk.

"That is the owner of the club." he said as they began to walk out the club.

"Mhmm the cute boss." Sofia said "No one ever sees his face you know his like a ghost wooo woo." She said giggling and trying to free herself from Asachi's hold.

Adria looked at the people they were talking about, she caught a glimpse of a tall slender man on a cap and nose mask it was really hard to get a good look of his face.

Asachi dragged her out as they headed to the car park, getting there Adria put them in a different car as she entered a different car, she left her other car there so the people trailing them won't be able to tell they were leaving. She will probably sell that car off.

When she entered the car she looked at the shadow guard "Drive." She said.

"To where?." He asked.

"Min's house." Adria said while biting her fingers.

"What?" The shadow guard was shocked by her word. Was this his boss stupid or just trying to be for crying out loud that man was very dangerous, he knows she's trying to ensure Akio and Yan Chen's safety but those people aren't even her family.

Adria thought for a while and replied "So even if the trailers follow us they will get the wrong address." She turned to him and said "Don't you get?."

"What if all of this is min's doing then what?." He asked.

Adria stopped for a while, she wasn't ready for this conversation "Drive!."

Adria texted Min saying "I'm on my way, your address?."

Min sent her the address immediately.
