"look at youuu, baby girl. You're glowing! Oporrr. You've forgotten me abi?" I laughed, moving on my bed as I tried to find a comfortable position. I laid on my belly and put my phone in front of me,ontop of one of my pillows.
"Yes you have! If I didn't call you, you wouldn't have remembered to call me. You've made new friends abi? You con forget about your Day one." She pouted.
"Exactly!" I smiled. "You're my day one, it's not possible to forget about you just like that. I was going to call you anyway"
"Mhm!" Aarin sent me a funny look that made me laugh again.
"I'm being honest," I said. "We've been really busy these past few days. Trying to move in things, clean things, and then me preparing for school. It's been a busy week babe."
"Oh yes! How's your new school like. I already know your house is a banger." I chuckled.
"How's the new school like? Gist me."
"Well, it's big, and much more modernized than Pearls High," I started. Riri hummed, a smile on her face as she picked up a pillow and hugged it to her chest.
"And the people are really nice. I made friends on my first day. They're really approachable and not as stuck up as I'd imagined they'd be. Well, some of them are but 90 percent of them are cool."
"Of course you'd make friends on your first day. You're a social butterfly, Fayth. Outgoing and so nice to everyone around you." I cooed at her compliment, my cheeks already hurting from smiling so much.
"So," She waggled her eyebrows at me. " Any cute boys my girl is interested in?" I cracked up with laughter.
"Silly girl."
"So no cute boys? I would swear there are plenty in that school of yours. Imagine it. Good looking and stinky rich. Gawd! babe, you've hit jackpot!" She dragged the last letter of jackpot, shaking her body from behind the screen. I continued to laugh, amused by her words.
"Yes, there are cute guys, but meh." I shrugged.
"Meh kini? Why are you mehing? Are you a goat?"
this child!
"My friend! you better start mingling. You have to get yourself a boyfriend this year. It's a must!" I rolled my eyes at her.
That was the specific thing I was planning to avoid.
No boys!
Riri and I talked for almost an hour and a half, until her mother called for her and we decided to cut the conversation short. She blew a kiss at me and threatened to haunt me in my dreams if I didn't text her every hour every day. I giggled and sent her a mock salute before hitting the hang up button. With a happy sigh, I rolled over on my bed and hugged a pillow to my chest. I smiled at nothing in particular then slowly shut my eyes.
I fell asleep not too long after.

Its been two weeks since I joined Elysian High and I would say it has been the best. The teachers loved me, and so did some other people. I occasionally got glares and jealous outbursts from some girls in my class and I always wondered what the hell crawled up their ass and died.
🎶Bad energy stay far away 🎶
I couldn't care less what they thought of me, honestly. Mother always said you can't possibly please everyone, and whoever tried to please everyone would end up going mad, or probably is already mad.
~flashback~
Rhianna Ahmad was regarded as the most beautiful girl among them. She possessed everything; beautiful fair skin, long hair, colored eyes, a stunning figure, and a smile that was contagious. It was as though every guy in the school wished to be her companion. To add to that, she was her closest friend.
In contrast, she seemed to be like a cake made of chocolate ice cream that had melted. Her skin was exceedingly dark, her hair mostly resembled that of a crazy woman, her eyes were plain black, and she seemed to have no appealing physical shape... It was still fresh in her memory, the first time she was body shamed, and it was in front of everyone.
Jacob Jacobs publicly labelled her as being flat just because she refused to give him her seat during their biology class. He had wanted to sit next to Sasha and initially begged her to move, until he resorted to bullying.
"This girl, you're too get pride sef," He had arrogantly addressed her. "With that your flat chest. Stand the fuck up jare! Do you think you're special just because I begged you? Dey play."
She refused to let anyone see the damage his words had done. She would rather die than cry in front of the monsters that she had to call classmates. His words stung, more than she was willing to confess. It felt like a brutal punch to her gut, and an awful stampede over her self esteem.
What was even more hurtful wasn't that everyone laughed at his insults, or the continuous repetition of his derogatory words. It was that Rhianna joined them. Her best friend, or at least the girl whom she considered as her best friend for four long years, was among those who were laughing at her. Nothing could have been more painful than that.
She fled from the class that day and locked herself up in the bathroom. She wept for nearly 20 minutes until her head began to ache and her eyes pulsated with pain. When she finally decided that she was done crying, picked herself up and moved towards the sink to wash her face, she took a moment to gaze at herself in the mirror that day. In that moment, she declared to herself that she would prove them wrong! She would show Jacobs, Sasha Donna and every single person who mocked her.
She left the bathroom that day with determination in her heart. She resolved to change herself and have her revenge. That's where she believes her obsession started. On that day, that event. That was what gave birth to her obsession, her folly, and her near ruin.
A fourteen-year-old her believed that transforming her appearance and flirting with boys until she found the right one to make her friends jealous was the perfect retaliation.
But while trying to drag her friends through hell, she was pulling herself into the same hell.
