FATE

Cawich, cawich, cawich, cringing his face from every step he made in the snow, Sampson slowly stalked his prey. Detecting the motions around him with each slow steady, breath the movements of the bison shoveling snow with its head in search of the snow underneath. Feeling the rush of both energy and excitement grow in his body, he crept closer to the beast undetected.

Woosh, tossing his head up a familiar scent of blood, stone, and iron swept past his nose. "Hunters?" Cocking his head and closing his eyes, Sampson hearing and smell drew in scents and sounds from a mile away. "Dogs…" he whispered listening to their pants, barks, and the pull of a sleighs along the mountain snow. Exhaling white smoke from his breath the young man shifted his attention back to the bison now enjoying its afternoon meal.

Salivating from the thought of bison stew, Ohr's words ran through Sampsons mind. "At the first indication of people I want you to run or fly as fast as you can. If they spot you, it could mean danger to both you and our family. Do you understand?" Nodding his head as if he were currently talking to his father, a groan escaped his lips." Focusing his thoughts upon the bison one more time, a slight curiosity hit him. What were people doing in the mountains around this time of year?

"Maybe I could…" Peering up at the clouds above wings sprang out Sampsons back. "Maybe I could just see what they are up to." Growing feathers on top of a coat of fur he shot into the air.

~Hunters~

"Whoa!" a hunter shouted through the mountain draft, causing the dogs to stop. Staring out at the whiteness all around the cocky man spun around glaring at the slim spectacled being to his right. "Are you sure she came up this way?" he asked with a snarl.

"I'm positive, I saw her with my own eyes and those horns could not be mistaken. It was her or another of her kind."

Circling their informant, with a fierce, holy grin presenting itself from behind his tunic a second taller cut hunter slid a knife through the air. "I surely hope so." He told the young man. "Or else I will skin you alive and mount you on my wall." Poking the collaborator in his back a chuckle broke free from the hunter's mouth as his victim jumped and whelped. "I hope you get the point."

Gulping, the informant nodded his head then turned to face the snowy wasteland before him.

"I wonder who they are looking for?" thought Sampson, circling the sky above. "What if they need help. I should tell dad."

~Cabin~

Boom, bursting through the front door Sampson shouted, "Daddy!"

Snatching his dagger off the table Ohr shot out his seat. "What is it son? Did someone spot you?"

"No, someone is in danger and..."

"Calm down." Ohr told his son with a wave of his hands. "Tell me what you saw."

"I was out hunting a bison when a scent hit me."

"What kind of scent?"

"Blood and iron." exclaimed Sampson.

"Hunters? Did they spot you?"

"No sir, I was flying in the air above them in the mountains."

Releasing a sigh of relief Ohr dropped to his knee searching his son's eyes. "Do you know why they were up there?"

"I don't know, but I heard them say something about a girl with horns and mounting some guy's head on the walls. I think they might need help."

"Sampson that has nothing to do with us." Wagging his finger, Ohr stood up and grabbed his coat. "And to make sure of that we are leaving today."

"But Dad."

"No but's son, we have been living peacefully for the last two years and I won't let some horned woman changed that. Do you understand?" Ignoring the tears welling up inside his son's eyes Ohr stormed off. "Arachete!"

~Abbott~

"How are you doing?"

"How may I help you?" asked the clerk in her native tongue, never peering up from the buffalo she was whittling.

"I am Abbot" the six-foot man said with a bow. "I am in need of lodging."

Tossing her head up, eyes a wide the clerk stuttered out. "You, you speak my tongue."

"I speak many tongues. And yours might be one, but in all I am just passing through for the night, do you have somewhere I might lay." Placing a gold coin on the desk Abbot gave her a smile.

"Shall I provide you my daughter for the night as well." the clerk asked with a smirk.

"No thank you." Replied Abbott courteously. "I have not time for such delightful pleasures, but I might take you on the offer next time I'm in town."

Studying her guests' hazel eyes, the clerk gave her shoulders a shrug. "What's with all the mystery, behind that red coat."

"Actually, it's Scarlet."

~Forest~

Eeep! Crawling into her owner's wool coat Margery trembled ferociously. "It's okay." Sampson assured the tiny barbary monkey. "I will protect you."

"Don't look at them Sampson…Arachete." mumbled Ohr, slowing down their sled to an even pace trying not to disturb the camp of men packing up their items to go. "Maybe they won't bother us if we pretend not to notice them."

"What do we have over there?" Said one of the men laying eyes on Arachete.

Licking his lips, the hunter comrade dropped a crate onto his sled. "It appears to be a woman." Rubbing his hands together the man looked around the camp at the rest of his allies also glancing hungrily at Arachete. "I haven't had a taste of woman since we came to this land of blacks. And that one over there is looking rather scrumptious."

Stirring from the lustful energy Ohr, glanced over at his wife and child. "Sampson, Arachete. Hold on tight." Whipping the reigns to his sleigh his dogs bolted off at full speed.

Booof, ducking from the strange thunderous sound arrr one of the dogs hollered. Boof, Boof, turning his head Sampson watched a strange projectile whizz pass him in slow motion. "Dad what's…"

"Ahhhh!" Ohr shouted as a bullet pierced his shoulder. Staring at the blood leaking from his father's shoulder, Sampson pupils became red like a blood moon. Hearing the growl escape his son's mouth Ohr glanced at him. "Sampson, no. There is a village near by I need you to get your mother there safely."

"But dad."

"No buts it is my duty to protect the two of you and it is yours to listen as well as protect your mother, so do as I say."

Nodding his head Sampson replied, "Yes sir." Sniffling back tears wings exploded from his back. Grabbing hold of his mother, Sampson peered down at the quivering monkey in his coat. "Hold on Margery."

"Take this." Handing Arachete his bag of coins, Ohr told her. "Find a place to stay and I will find you. Now Sampson go." Whoosh, watching his son take to the air Ohr tugged at the reigns of his sleigh making the dogs turn.

"Don't let the woman escape." Shouted one of the men, firing off a shot at Sampson.

Turning his head to peer at the projectiles gliding towards him, the hairs along Sampson's body began to wriggle like a charmed snake. "No worries mom I will protect both you and Margery I promise."

~Abbott~

Toof, toof, swirling his head around skimming pass snow, trees and stone Abbot head moved to the sound of gunshots until he laid eyes on Sampson carrying his mother. Studying the child god force and how he sliced through bullets with fine then wiry hair he couldn't help but bob his head in acknowledgment. "That young man is going to change the world." Said, Abbott to nobody while stepping into the direction of the shooters. "Time to go."

Fleeting towards the scene within seconds Abbott eyes took in Ohr, stumbling arm hanging low and bloody but still clenching hold to its weapon. Turning his head to the fur coated bandits aiming to put more holes into Ohr, Abbott spanned the yards in between them intercepting two bullets with his dagger. "Looking a bit weary there."

Stepping back blinking at his surprise visitor Ohr eyes bounced back to the bandits. "Nope I', just starting." Taking a fighting stance Ohr shot a swift glance too his savior. "I have more to live for."

"That's what I want to hear." Replied Abbot. "But let me handle this."

"What's going on?" spoke a bandit trembling from head to toe from an immense pressure weighing down on him. "Whatever he…" Fainting the rest of his men fell in a domino effect.

Rotating his head, Ohr gazed up at Abbott. "You're one of them aren't you… An EVOL."

"Yes, indeed and that remarkable being I saw flying earlier is your son am I correct." Returning kind exceptive eyes to Ohr's inquisitive but murderous eyes, Abbot gave him a smile. "I'm not here to cause a stir I was just passing by and thought to lend a hand."

"Well, thank you." Replied Ohr with a bow. "I am in your debt." Raising up Ohr accepted Abbotts handshake. "Until we meet again."

"I can accept that." Healing Ohr's wounds Abbott turned around and gave him a salute. "Until we meet."

Peering in all directions in search of his rescuer Ohr spun around, "until we meet." He replied before dashing off.

~Couple Days Later~

"Over here, over here!" Shouted a kid as he ran through snow eyes on her teammate kicking a ball wrapped with thick mossy vines. Widening her eyes as the ball rose in the air flying in her direction the young Bovidae catapulted into the air, transforming into an antelope humanoid. "Got it." Twisting in the air until her spiral horns stood in front of the ball like a goal, the were-antelope hit the ball with her head.

Shooting through the air bouncing off the ground then ricocheting off a tree the ball found its way heading back into its original direction. "Ha" kicking the ball with all her strength the young Bovidae sent it sailing across the sky.

"Woo" circling the sky and watching the amazing goal Sampson fluttered in the air with excitement. "I want to play." He thought to himself swooping down.e He

"Hmmmmf" Releasing white smoke from his nose like steam a Bovidae watcher shook his head at the sight of Samson descending upon them. "Aup" gulping the man swung his legs then pushed off the branch he sat on. Flipping and slipping past a few branches he kicked off the base of the tree landing into a sprinting stride blowing a whistle.

"These next three days will determine your life." Spoke a Bovidae mother to her child. "The winter solstice represents represent the birth of new light for the sun dies but on the third day the sun rises again. This is how your path with oneness will be. A birth to new life after nine years." Staring off into the crowd and scanning the trees the woman laid her forehead on his. "Are you prepared?"

Nodding his head, the little duiker gave her a smile. "I will be okay. I'll be back before you know it. Perking her ears and standing erect the lady spun around in the direction of the frequency being release pointed. "There might be danger we need to leave."

Converting into his human form before landing, Sampson ran up to the kids. "Can I play?"

Staring at him for awhile two of the kids shrugged their shoulders then gave him the ball. "You know how to play."

"Yea get that ball into one of those goals." Said Sampson pointing at rings made of vine hanging in trees.

"Good enough."

"There it goes." Running up in Bovidae form with their weapons at their side the were-antelopes bolted towards Sampson encircling him and the children. "Come little calves it's time to go."

"But why?" responded one of the children confused.

"Because of him."

Glancing at Sampson then the guards the kids immediately began to rant. "But he want to play. Leave him alone. I'm going to tell the chief."

Staring at the children then each other, the guards stepped forward moving them out of the way. "You need to come with us."

~A Miles away~

"I found them." A hunter said in his mind peering down at the Bovidae Tribe using remote viewing. Snapping out of his meditation all eyes stood on him. "I know where they are."

"Great" said the leader standing up. "Everyone get packed we make a move tonight!"

~Abbott~

"Look at all the beautiful lights." Standing over a mountain edge lost in the beauty of the colorfully flashing energies mixing and blending in the air, Abbott head swerved to the left at a dark mist slowly approaching it. "Seems like my assistance may be needed. I mean why mess up a good party?" Said Abbott taking a dive off the mountain.

~Replay~

"Hold on, Hold on." Petting the head to his trunk nosed beast a spiked head, hunter smiled reveling gold fangs. "We will take care of it, from here. Stay."

Racing into motion from the glance of their captain, two other hunters ran into to the stone pink lodging. "A one-armed man came here tonight or some other night. May you show us where he stay?"

"With pleasure." The clerk said with a bow. "Please don't destroy my lodging."

"Can't put my word on that now move."

Stumbling backwards after nearly jumping out of her skin, the clerk spun around, taking long, quick strides. "Follow me." She told them as she reached the door.

"Slow down lady." Cutting a corner, one of the hunters came to a halt barely missing collision with the clerk.

Pointing at a stone and wood hut sitting across a campfire amid some trees the clerk bowed and ushered them on. "You may enter."

Smirking at the thought of entering the lodge the captain glanced down at the old lady. "Are you sure there aren't any other charms on this building?"

"Not of my doing or anyone elses."

"Great" said the hunter before kicking down the door. "Housekeeping."

Rolling off his pallet onto the floor woosh Ohr sent a knife hurling before snapping up like a track star.

Grabbing his target by the neck the Hunter peered into his victims' eyes while giving him a one fang smirk. "You believed that would work." Bursting out in laughter the man tossed Ohr to the side. "Boys take care of the woman. Make sure she leaves with good graces."

Jumping to his feet "ooagh!" Ohr arm rose in arc.

Sidestepping the short sword, the hunter yanked his prey up by the hood of his cloak then slammed him on the ground. "I know you have more fight in you then this." He taunted before hurling Ohr across the room. Taking a few steps towards his victim the huntsman's eyes glew. "How did you render my crew unconscious? Don't be shy…show me your power and I will show you mines."

"You can't match my strength." Said Ohr with a stagger to his feet. "Because my abilities are unknown."

"Well…" Flash stepping across the room the huntsman pinned Ohr against the wall. "In that case let's do an experimentation." Glancing over at Arachete a flicker in his eyes sent chills down her body, making her nauseous. "I hope you're ready."

~Bovidae Tribe~

"It seems that we have come to a decision." Exchanging glances with the other elders, the head Bovidae laid his eyes on Sampson. "Though you are undoubtedly a dangerous being…" shifting his attention around the hut the leader eyes rested on Sampson once again. "But you pose no threat to our tribe. Sampson you are free to partake in our festivals under one decree. You tell no one of our whereabouts. Is that a deal child?"

Trembling with excitement, Sampson leaped to his feet. "I won't I promise."

"Good because if any thing happens to our tribe will assume it is of your doing."

Weeewooo perking their ears from the sound of a whistle woof an explosion ripped roof the building.

"What's going on?" someone asked.

Covering his face from the debris woosh Samson morphed then burst into the air looking at all the damage. "What's?" Pausing his rotation Samson zoomed in on a group of people a couple hundred yards away. "What are they…" Tilting his head at a strange contraption they were loading a giant ball in he tuned into their conversation using his hearing.

"Remember not to kill any of them. They are merchandise from here on."

"Yes, Captain."

Floating backwards at the bomb being launched at the tiny village Samson gulped then rushed towards it trying to stop it. Boom, the bomb exploded upon contact sending its unintended target hurling and skipping him like a rock from ground to hut.

"My head…my ears." Shaking his head as the world spun and his ears rang Samson could barely see his body healing rapidly. "Aww." Clawing the ground at an excruciating pain in his head he took a deep breath as his body slowly leaned. "The kids from earlier." He whispered as everything began to go black.

~Mile Away~

Seems I have found my location." Gazing at the eruption of energy in the distance a grin spread across Abbott's face. "And a ride." Focusing on the energy floating in the air over the village, zoomf he to stood above it. Woosh, sliding his head watching Samson bolt across the sky he spotted the problem. "If he is going to take out the Sayads by the catapult then I might as well." Absorbing the energy out of the air, Abbott plunged down upon them like a meteorite. Boom!

"Waa…" listening to them losing their voices as waves of energy swept them away like an ocean tide Abbotts awareness pinpointed those that remained.

"No, you…" Maneuvering behind his opponent before he could raise his arms or speak Abbott kicked him in the leg. "Aww" his victim screamed before being knocked unconscious. "Hmmf" huffing out a laugh Abbott spun around throwing his captive into a fireball. "Hope that wasn't meant for me." He mocked, pivoting into his next opponent, swiping away his strike. Catching the second Abbott pulled him in and smack hit him with a headbutt.

Blinking from the blow the Sayad stood there in shock before poooosh a wave of energy shot him into his comrades behind him.

"If we can't take him out individually then I guess we band together. Men White wolf formation."

"I really hope your all coming at me at one time." Said Abbott, stretching while the Hunters scattered into formation.

Quivering from the lip with anger at the sight of Abbott bouncing around and warming up the captain inhaled deeply. "Attack!"

~Rage~

Weeshewoof, doomf! "The catapult!" Shouted a Sayad. Squinting through the dust at two red gleams woosh Samson snatched him up and bit into his neck with his wolverine head ripping away the flesh.

Hmmf, with a huff Sampson attention shifted to his next prey. Vanishing into the dust floating in the air from his crash land the yonng EVOL crept onto one Sayad after the next gorging them with his tusk, slashing them his claws or chumping off a part of their head.

"Haa." Shouted a hunter throwing a punch so hard it cleared away the debris. Staring at all the dead men the Sayad beamed at Samson. "I don't know what in monstrosity are you but…" Taking a fighting stance woosh he threw a punch releasing a stream of energy.

Booosh taking on the blast by thickening his fur into an armor Samson head swung over to his attacker. Rahnnnn roaring the young EVOL fell to all fours.

"Huh" Shifting his eyes to see behind him Samson's prey fell into a roll dodging a fierce swipe. "Won't get me that easy." Said the Sayad rolling back on his feet, and into Samson. "Oh." Tossing his arms up poom the hunter was bounced on the ground like a ball by an overhand.

Cocking his arm back to throw another blow Samson head took a whirl to take a gander at an energy bolt. Boom, creating and shield and blocking the blast, Samson was left in an inky smoke.

"Take this!" Shouted a Sayad from above.

Lifting his head slish Samson took a slash on the chest. Stepping back with a growl he launched his arm forward slinging a wiry thread of hair at his prey latching and onto his leg. Yanking his aggressor off his feet Samson swung his arm to the right then reeled him in. Kawish, peering down at a sword in his gut Samson swayed from the one in his back also.

"Time's up." Stretching out his arms a Sayad manifested nine gleaming reddish-orange orbs. "Die." Pointing the spheres at Samson woosh they took off.

"Rahhhh!!!" Roaring to the top of his lungs Samson propelled the swords from his body allowing it to heal. Taking a step forth his body began to morph from bear built to that of a yeti or ape. Bink! Bink! Smacking away two of the orbs with his dinosaur tail made of bone Samson hands crackled from the bone claws wrapped around his paws.

"I will demolish that bone armor and rip your tail from your spine." Lifting his finger, the nine orbs shot off in all directions before averting to one target Samson.

Manifesting a bone whip with the wave of his beastly arm bink, bink…bink…bink, bink Samson smacked five of the orbs into boulders and trees. Snarling till the gums of his tusk showed the Evol crotched then sprang into action.

~Regulations~

Converting to his human form Abbott peered at the number of bodies laying on the ground. "Guess I showed them who the real monster is." Placing his hands together woop, woop, woop, portals materialized under everybody. "Time to face judgement." Shifting his gaze to Samson light, Abbott slowly rose in the air then jetted off.

~Beast Mode~

Smacking two orbs out of the way Samson snatched a Sayad off his feet. Taking a bite out of his vivtims face the Evol slammed him on the ground then lunged his whip at the next snapping his neck. Choosing new quarry two spiral bones materialized in the air hovering above his shoulders. Exploding off the ground his spears shot pass homing in on their targets.

"Aaaa" Screaming right before his neck got bit into one the Sayads last sight was the ape, yeti ,cat like Evol tail stinger plunge through his comrade chest.

"Bidnol, Colpre, Ji…" Dropping a tear Sparro, summoned his orbs back. "I'm going to teach youuuu…" Slurring with a wobble the Sayad fell face first in the snow.

"Seems like the perfect time to take a nap." Said Abbott walking pass the unconscious hunter.

Harumph! Rotating his head to the right, locking in on the newcomer's presence boom Samson exploded towards him. Waiting until the Evol was a few feet away Abbott smiled and took a bow. "May peace be in you." Said Abbott. Converting back into a child, Samson collapsed in the snow. Picking the young boy up, Abbott took a gander at the dead bodies then at Samson. "Someone will have to teach you control." Closing his eyes when he reopened them Abbott could see the flares of energy in all life around them. "Now." Looking down at Samson a red thread of energy fluttered through the wind. "Time to take you home."

~Lodge~

"Do you think something happened to the kid?"

"An Evol like that." Taking a pause from sharpening his hatchet the Sayad took a glance at his comrade. "Of course not. The kid probably just wandered off somewhere. Hell be back. How else will he see his parents again." Peeping back at the dead and beating Arachete and Ohr the hunter hopped off the table. "Maybe I should go looking for him." Taking a step towards the door the Sayad stopped in his tracks. "Who are you?"

"Abbott and I believe this is not your lodging."

"I believe." Raisng his hatchet the hunter wobbled then fell.

Stepping pass, the body Abbott shook his head at the horrendous site before him. Exhaling Abbott turned to face the bandits. "May the Letters deal with you." Making three portals appear Abbott swiped them out of the room. Walking over to Samson parents he gazed down at their tortured bodies. "May you go back to oneness." Bowing his head the two bodies became a flame of light which danced and waved into all the tiny sparks floated away. "Sorry child but you are coming with me."
