Five Years Later

"Mommy." Pushing his head back Sampson gazed up at her with sparkling hazel eyes. "How come daddy never takes me hunting."

Peering down at Sampson, Arachete smiled at how the flames danced on his ebony skin. "Because you are still a child, and it is your father's responsibility to protect you as it its mine to nurture you."

"But I am big and strong just like daddy. See." Said Sampson with a flex of his muscles.

"Oh, I see." Touching Sampsons biceps, Arachete trembled with enthusiasm. "You are truly strong and I'm sure any beast that runs up to you would be truly terrified." Smiling at the grin that surfaced on her child's face, Arachete tapped him on the news. "But right now, there is only one beast that you must conquer."

"Really." Spinning around to face his mother, his hair broke free from her grasp. "What is it?" he asked with glittering eyes. "Is it big with sharp teeth and many eyes?"

"I don't know about sharp teeth and many eyes." Arachete giggled. "But it is definitely big." She said watching the spark in his eyes grow even larger. "And do you want to know what it is?"

"Tell me, tell me, tell me."

"It's…" Pausing Arachete glanced to the left then right. "Are you sure, because I don't think you're ready?"

"Tell me. Please!"

"Okay I will tell you only because you're my beloved son." Leaning forward in eagerness Sampson eyes bulged out their sockets. "This beast…is called…the beast of stillness and little boys like you have a hard time managing."

Slumping over Sampson crossed his arms. "That's not funny mommy. I thought I was going to become a warrior like dad."

~Few Miles Away~

Thoop, thoop, thoop. Plopping its hooves against the earth haheeuff! Ohr's horse rose to its hind legs neighing loudly before trotting in a circle. "What is it girl?" Ohr asked calmly while rubbing the side of her neck. Following the rotation of her ears his gaze slid over to a boulder, underneath the mountain edge. "Did something spook you?" Scanning the cliff and boulder ahead something round caught his attention. "Are those…" narrowing in on the object Ohr leaned forward. "…ears!" he exclaimed, reaching for his dagger.

Graaar! Snapping his attention behind him then on the sides Ohr's eyes widened. "Barbary Lions." Rubbing his stead on the side of her neck, Ohr gaze swept out to the forest not to far away. "If we can make it to the forest then we just might can get a way." He whispered to his horse petting her slowly to keep her calm. "Think we can make." Perking her ears and neighing the horse stomped her feet and huffed. "Alright girl lets ahhh." Jerking forward as if he caught a spasm in his back blood trickled down Ohr's back. "What just…" Staring up at a Lion humanoid a flashback of prime shot through his head. "You're an Arcadian."

"And you are prey." Replied the were-lion. "Though it wasn't much a hunt." Reverting to his human form the Arcadian grinned. "Recognize me."

Staring at the olive skin, dark haired man Ohr slowly rose in recognition. "You were the man at the metal shop then again in the towns market."

"Great job." The Arcadian replied as his pride of eight, came out of their hiding places and crept closer, each one transitioning into a bipedal humanoid form as they moved.

Swishing his eyes from one were-lion to the next Ohr clenched his dagger. "I don't know what you want from me but I'm just trying to make it back home to my family."

"Family?" Said the Arcadian with a bob of his head. "I understand, I'm a family man myself. All I wish to do is to feed and take care of my pride."

Searching the were-lions' eyes Ohr asked, "So will you allow me to do the same?"

Sucking his lips in the Arcadian shook his head. "Sadly no." he told Ohr. "Then that would be taking from my family, and we can't have that. Children." Baring their fangs three of the were-lions charged in.

"Heyah." Smacking his stead on the butt and launching his dagger Ohr tried to make a break from it. Neighing the horse made a circle then bolted off.

Gazing down upon the scene a lioness broke into a sprint leaping off cliffs edge. Heeehaaan her victim whinnied then collapsed exposing the claw marks left by the Arcadian. Rolling to her feet after her landing the lioness spun around facing Ohr. "Did you truly believe you were going to get away?"

"Harroon" Grunting Ohr held his dagger in ready position. "I won't go down without fight."

"Great" replied the Pride leader. "That only makes the hunt all more interesting."

~Home~

"Sampson, Arachete, I love you."

"Daddy." Snapping out of his sleep Sampson head swished left to right in search of his father. "Daddy?" Rolling out of his mat he ran to the door throwing it open and peering out into the darkness. "Daddy?"

"Sampson…" Ohr's voice tugged at Sampson's mind. "I hope you become big, strong, and most importantly wise. Remember to always think before you react and to take care of your mother."

"Daddy." Sampson choked tears rolling down his cheek, as dread washed over his little body. "Daddy don't…" woomf everything went black.

~Mountain Cave~

"Such strong will." Spoke the Pride's leader as he stepped into his cave. "Bit into your, legs tore at your tendons, chewed away at your sides and ripped off an arm and yet you still found a way drag yourself to the cave wall and sit up." Noticing the brief flex of Ohr's hand the Arcadian cackled. "Still want to fight ey." Swaying his head to the side, Ohr glared at the were-lion with utmost hate. "Such tenaciousness." Strolling over to his prey the beast man squatted low becoming eye level with Ohr. "You definitely entertained me, but now its time to bring your life to an end."

"Daddy!"

Jerking his head to the entrance of the cave Ohr huffed out, "Sampson." But his words came out barely a whisper. "Run son" he tried to force out but couldn't find the energy to speak.

"Daddy…" Standing there trembling tears streamed down Sampson's face until he collapsed into the dirt throwing up.

"Daddy." Turning around with a smile the Arcadian glanced at Ohr then back at Sampson. "I see the resemblance. "So, this is the child you fought so hard for. Wow." Clapping the were-lion head bobbed. "Came way out here to find his dear father." Lifting Ohr's head up by the chin the man grinned. "At least he can see you off." Raising his left hand, it began to transfigure growing claws and becoming more lion-like. "Say goodbye to your father." The beast man spoke before thrusting his arms through Ohr's chest.

"Daddy!" Samspon screamed before collapsing.

"Aww to much for you to bear." Said the Arcadian walking towards Sampson then stopping abruptly at the snapping and cracking of the child's body.

"Sampson…" Ohr whispered starring at his son through blurry eyes.

"When the time comes Sampson's DNA will be activated. I have foreseen a glimpse of his future." Staring into space Ohr watched the flashback of him and Prime's last conversation. "Give this to your son when he it is born. It comes from my comrades Rogan and Valcom, it will protect the child when that time comes."

Coming back to the present a look of both horror and peace swept across Ohr's face at the sight of his once human child now taking on the form of what appeared to be a humanoid wolverine with tusks and an oxtail. "Survive my son." Ohr exhaled before going limp.

"What are you?" asked the arcadian gazing into pure white eyes. Growling the beast man morphed into his were form. "It doesn't matter I will kill you regardless."

Snapping his head in the Arcadians direction, the now five-foot Sampson howled with rage. "What is going…?" Staring into eyes the color of a blood moon it wasn't long before the rest of the pride joined the Lionness.

"Kill it." The Prides leader commanded.

Manifesting barbaric swords in each hand, Sampson stretched his arms out causing the hairs on his body to propel out in all directions piercing through two of the were-lions as they charged in. Retracting the hairs, Sampson bolted forward hacking the head off one of the injured before twirling his second sword and slashing the second in its chest as he tried to retreat. Launching forward before the Arcadian could retreat Sampson sunk his teeth into the neck of his aggressor ripping away flesh with ease.

"Die!" said another were-lion as he rushed Sampson from behind.

Spinning around kaweesh Sampson plunged his tusks into the stomach of his attacker then slung him to ground. Leaping onto the Arcadian awoop Sampson bit off his face and began to devour him as the beast man flailed in pain.

Taking a step in the rest of the pride charged all at once while their prey feasted but Sampsons hairs propelled in all directions once again like grappling hooks piercing through their flesh wherever they struck. Falling to their knees the Arcadians stared helpless as Sampson ravaged their companion. "There's nothing we can do." Spoke the leader now back in his human form. "We need to escape while we can."

"Sampson…" raising his head from a flash of his father appearing in his head Sampson breathing slowed down and he gazed over at Ohr. Rising off his morsel he walked over to his father. Dropping to his knees the Sampson nuzzled his father.

"Poor child." Spoke Prime teleporting in the cave. "To be awakened in such a way." Glimpsing over at Ohr he could see a spark of life rise in him. "Looks like a chose correctly Valcom's healing abilities came in handy." Teleporting next to the now unconscious child and his father Prime tapped his staff on the ground creating a pentagram. "Time for you two to go home.

~Nine days Later~

"You are meant to become a king of kings and live as the true God you are." Spoke Rogan.

"You are the true source of light and darkness. You are the creator of your world." Said Valcom floating in the air in his vulture form. "Take my abilities as both an Ornithion and as a spirit and use them wisely, young Sampson." Turning towards the sun Valcom glanced at Sampson one last time. "Don't only survive but live." He said before flying off.

"And fight." Said Rogan with a flex of his muscle. "Fight for all you believe in and only yours. Allow your intentions and desires to guide you as you co-create with the universe." Smiling Rogan transitioned into a were-wolverine then faded away leaving Sampson in an open field.

"Dad." Snapping awake the image of his dream sat in Sampsons mind as the world slowly came to.

Sampson dashing into the room Arachete hugged and kissed her child unceasingly. "You scared me son."

Having a flashback of his Father in the cave worry fell over Sampson. "Where's daddy?" he asked tears already rolling out.

"I'm here son." Said Ohr walking in on a crutch.

"Your arm." Sampson bawled.

"It's okay son I will do fine without it. The good news is that I'm still alive thanks to you."
