Chapter 43

Vivian stood a few feet away from her previous position. She stared at the dust cloud in front of her with caution.

'What the hell!?' She thought as the dust settled to reveal Miko with an enraged expression on her face.

"Vivian!" She screamed in rage. The woman in question only put on an amused look.

"Do you like what I've done with the place?" She asked mockingly, enraging Miko further.

"Why are you doing this!? What lies behind this slaughter!?" She asked furiously.

"You think you're so powerful, don't you?" Vivian asked rhetorically.

"What do you mean?" Miko asked, keeping her tone level.

"You always thought you were better than the rest of us. I was supposed to lead this clan. You lost that right when you left this place to galavant with a bunch of outsiders." Vivian said, her tone gaining some emotion as she spoke.

"I was supposed to lead this clan after my father but you just decided to come back and take that from me!" She said, now screaming.

"You cling to something that was never truly yours. Your father only became clan head because my father decided that he was the best choice until I decided to come back." Miko countered.

"Besides, do you really think that you're fit to lead? Look around you, is all this really worth it?" She continued, aggravating Vivian.

"Shut the hell up! You don't get to lecture me on anything. Especially not after you came back pregnant with the son of an outdsider!" She shouted, now angry.

"Outsider this, outsider that. This is why even your father didn't think you were fit to become leader." She said as the now enraged Vivian pushed her hand out, shooting a purple wave of aura at Miko who resisted it with a slash of her sword.

"Had you accepted Turwen's invitation, none of this would be happening. Granted that you wouldn't be the leader, all these people wouldn't be dying." Vivian said, now regaining her calm.

"You expect me accept the terms of a country who wants to enslave us? So that was what you wanted. Had I accepted, Turwen would put you at the head of the clan. Pathetic! Resorting to such measures for something so trivial." She said as she brandished her sword to cut her down.

She blurred away from her position, immediately appearing in front of Vivian with her sword already en route to her neck. Before the sword could get close, a circular shield of aura appeared protectively around Vivian.

*Clang!*

It sounded like iron as the sword was blocked by the shield. Miko's eyes widened as her attack was stopped midway.

"Come to think of it, I never told you what my semblance is. Allow me to demonstrate." She said as the shield pulses before abruptly pushing outwards.

Unable to dodge it, Miko could only brace herself as although her aura took most of the impact for her, she was still pushed back.

"I was never able to unlock the sharingan but…" she trailed as pieces of the roof they stood on were uprooted and floated in the air around her.

"I got something far better." She said as she made a pushing gesture, sending them to Miko.

The Uchiha matriarch leaped over the first piece of rubble, using the next piece of rubble as a foothold, she pushed herself forward. Her sword easily cut through a large piece of stone that came towards her.

Cutting through the obstacles like paper, she was soon in front of Vivian. She jumped back as the ground of the surface she previously stood exploded.

"I got the power to steal the semblances of others." She announced as a shimmer of air shot out from her outstretched palm towards Miko who dodged.

"This is far superior to that of any other." She said as she raised her fingers, freezing Miko who had appeared in front of her.

"Even you are powerless in front of me." She announced with a smirk as Miko's frozen form floated in front of her.

Before she could continue her rant, black flames erupted on her face causing her to scream in pain. In her pain, she was forced to release Miko.

Miko immediately rushed forward, slashing at the chest of the screaming woman. A large diagonal cut was made on her chest as she fell to the ground in agony.

"Damn you!" She screamed in an unhinged manner.

"Despite the so called superiority of you semblance, I have yet to see you use the sharingan. Meaning that despite everything you've said, you still lust for it's power. Your power doesn't work on it." Miko said with a smirk on her face.

"You…! You think you've won?" Vivian said as her skin seemed to shed off, the still burning skin falling off with it.

Miko watched in disgust as the skin fell off to reveal her unblemished and unharmed. Vivian showed a cruel smile as Miko looked on.

"I'll admit that the sharingan still eludes me but do you really think I need it. Your eyes don't work on me." She declared confidently.

"That's true, but can you continue using that semblance? It must take a lot out of you to use that semblance. It's not something you can spam as much as you like." Miko countered as her sharingan glared into her.

"HAHAHAHAHHA!!!"

Unexpectedly, Vivian burst into a fit of deranged laughter. She snapped her fingers and a green dome appeared around the both of them. Miko looked on with caution.

"What's the meaning of this? You're trapped in here with me and we both know you can't beat me." Miko pondered cautiously.

Only then did the fit of laughter stop. She looked at Miko with a cruel smirk.

"You are really clueless. While we're trapped in here, that giant's still out there wreaking havoc." She said as Miko eyes slowly widen.

"Guess who else is out there with that thing." She said as realization dawned on Miko.

"That's right. Your precious son. Your perfect and obedient heir." She said, ignoring the way Miko's sharingan seemed to look even more menacing.

"I'll say, he's much stronger than I expected. Though I shouldn't be surprised considering what he is." She said, pausing for Miko to comprehend where she was going before continuing.

"The second coming of the demon!"
