Dagger?

The fire intensified as I used my semblance to fule the furnace.

I grunted, bringing the metal that I held with my bare hands to the anvil and grabbed the hammer.

In signal, it was mandatory to know how to forge. Making your own weapon was a tradition, apparently. My training time was cut down exponentially but I could deal with it.

If you asked me, letting a fifteen-year-old child design a weapon is a little irresponsible... because they didn't know how to use them and there was a high possibility that it would explode before anyone could pull the trigger... Also, why merge swords with guns?

I mean, yeah, having a ranged weapon is a good advantage but a full-on greatsword that was also a scythe... And a shotgun? At least put something that is long-ranged like a sniper rifle. Jeez Qrow, even Yang figured it out.

Plunging the first part of the blade in the water to cool down, I looked outside, the sun was still up and I had a pass for today...

-Taiyang POV-

Roy was absent from the classes today, but ever since I got a job as a teacher at Signal, we went together and today is no exception.

Did he sneak out? No, the cameras would spot him.

Sighing, I stand up and head for the door, my destination: Combat class.

Why there? Because Qrow was there, if anything, he would help him escape.

Walking down the corridors I stopped at a large entrance of the combat class. Opening one of them, I walk in, revealing rows of seats, each higher than the other and in the middle, there was a large opening for combat.

At one end stood a table... where a passed-out Qrow.

Groaning I walk closer and tap him on the head. He didn't respond.

I shoved him off the chair.

"Uh-wha? The fuc?"

He looked around and finally, at me.

"Wut u wont?"

...He was drunk.

"Where's Roy?"

He shrugged and tried to stand up. Keyword: Tried.

Reaching down, I pull him up and placed him in the chair, straightening him up, unfortunately, he slumped again, hitting the desk with his head.

"I hurd ze smitting closs teachur sei sumt'n bout a kid staing in cluss to oractuce."

Rolling my eyes, I turn around and start going to the smithy.

I just hope he is in school. I don't need another call from the principal.

Is this the "Edgy" phase or the rebellious one?

And it's his second year, this is the part where the school singles out the weak from the strong, if you manage to pass, the student gets the chance to prove themself to be worthy of a scholarship to Beacon.

Opening the door to the smithy I look around. No fire going, no one hitting metal with a hammer... maybe he left?

Sighing again, I turn around and leave. Seriously, what a troublesome kid.

-Roy POV-

What did he want?

Coming out of the corner and going into my physical form, I look at the door where Taiyang just left.

Holding up the small part of the blade that I completed, I shrugged and lit the furnace again.

-A few hours later-

God this was annoying, How hard is it to make a reliable folding blade?

If the bottom part of it was hallowed, it was liable to break if I tried to slash, it could break in if I tried to stab...

Well, only one way to figure this out... The internet!

-A week later-

Finally, after finding the blueprints of a collapsible that was actually reliable and after four days of working on the mechanism, I have done it.

My inner weeb is satisfied.

In my hand, I held a very familiar blade, more like a hilt of it. Opening the front section of the hilt, I twirled the blade. The motion carried the blade out, all of the parts set in their place and now, the hilt had a straight blade that was the length of my forearm.

Basically a straight wakazashi.

It was a blade from my favourite game: Dishonored, Corvo's blade... My inner chunni is very pleased.

Now, I just need to prepare for any poison gas that might be used to subdue me... Will it even work? I am fire after all? the poison might aswell burn away.

Better have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Sighing again, I twirl around the blade and it collapsed back inside the hilt with its four spike guards folding in...

I unfolded it and folded it again just for the fun of it.

Ah, that click is satisfying. and since this is not a big sword, I can try out my theories on aura...

I just need a teat subject... Thankfully, Vale had a lot of those.

But the mask came first... and I need to find a rebreather first...

Well, it's a good thing I saved up my allowance huh?

Storing my new sword away in my pocket I note that I also need a place to store it...

"I need a combat outfit and preferably one without the cloak, it's nice but impractical."
