Chapter 52: Confessionals

Upon returning to the ballroom, my eyes immediately went to Nikolina who was busy mingling with one of the royals. This could be my chance to see if Nikolina got a threatening letter too. I mean, if she wasn't the one who sent them out herself. There was only one way to find out. Sebastian followed my gaze to see who I was fixated on, and I could tell that he was thinking the exact same thing.

'She might not tell you, but there is no harm in asking her', she whispered to me. 

I nodded in approval and made my way over to her. She wasn't exactly thrilled to see me, but she couldn't exactly shoo me away either. She excused herself from whoever she was talking with and turned around to give me her full attention.

'I know you did it', I started to intimidate her the way Sabrina tried earlier.

'I'm sorry?', she asked, clearly confused by my sentence.

'I know you sent those threatening letters', I elaborated a little bit.
