Chapter 8) Arrival

Two months had passed.

"Finally, everything is ready. The calculations align, and the ritual should proceed according to plan. I will achieve my goal," Amon declared.

He stood deep within one of the unexplored caves he had discovered during his experiments and preparations for the ritual. Amon had already inscribed all the necessary magic circles, cleared the cave of any obstructions that could hinder the process, and successfully transferred the Necrosword Puzzle to the mirror dimension within this location. All that remained was to commence the ritual, open the portal for Hela's descent, and retrieve the Necrosword for her summoning.

"Indeed, that young kid managed to get on my nerves. Who would have known that he would become so attached after that incident? Well, it doesn't matter now. I managed to shake him off before this day," Amon muttered.

Suddenly, Amon began coughing violently, his coughs accompanied by the expulsion of blood. "I must proceed. Time is running out."

Taking his position within the prepared space, Amon started reciting an incantation. Cosmic energy swiftly surged into the inscribed circles on the cave's floor and walls, initiating cosmic shifts. Gradually, the fabric of space unfolded, revealing an endless expanse of darkness at the other end.

The frigid wind emanating from the portal threatened to freeze Amon to his core, but he had anticipated this and his garments emitted a soft glow, offering partial protection from the cold. Nonetheless, his limbs trembled, and steam billowed from his mouth and nose with every breath.

"Just a little longer, just a little longer. I must summon the Goddess of Death using her Necrosword."

Opening the mirror dimension proved arduous due to the presence of the portal connecting different realms, but Amon had prepared for this eventuality. Within the ritual, a designated space remained untouched by the dimensional rift, and it was within this space that he had placed the Necrosword.

Amon, breathing heavily, opened the portal, and a black blade adorned with crimson runes materialized from within. As he made contact with the designated circle on the cave floor, another spatial shift occurred, and Amon could sense, and feel the presence of death itself. Words fell short of describing the immense bloodlust and murderous intent emanating from the blade. And the energy of death itself, so pure that to attain even a few droplets, one would have to unleash devastation on several cities, sparing no one, young or old.

In the realm of Helheim, Hela stood before yet another tree adorned with hanging corpses. It was a recent discovery, and the peculiar way she stumbled upon it had sparked intriguing thoughts.

"Hmm, so if I focus on something and travel a certain distance, I coincidentally come across what I had in mind. But if I shift my thoughts during the journey, I have to venture a new distance. By Hel, no one informed me about these properties of the realm. Furthermore, I don't sense any cosmic shifts or a guiding force. I must conduct some experiments to unravel this mystery and perhaps find an escape from this realm," Hela pondered.

A smile curved upon the face of the beautiful Goddess of Death as she imagined the surprise on Odin's face when she appeared in his palace and severed his head upon his golden throne.

"It's a shame these are mere fantasies. Surely my father wouldn't have imprisoned me here if he knew I could easily break free, even with his life force binding me," she contemplated.

While contemplating her next move, Hela sensed a rift in space. "Hmm, could it be that the old man has finally decided to release me?" Yet, as she felt the beckoning of her blade from the other side, understanding dawned upon her. "So, the time has come. Very well, Father, my revenge will be merciless, and I shall claim what is rightfully mine."

With this resolve, she set off toward the gateway to her freedom. However, within a few seconds, she realized that her physical body could not pass through the portal.

"Damn, that foolish mortal! How dare they summon a portal to this dimension without ensuring it would allow my physical passage," she cursed.

She could have ranted about the incompetence of the wretched mortal for days, but she knew the portal's duration was limited, and Heimdall might soon sense the disturbance in Helheim.

"No matter. I don't require a physical form to execute a few tricks. Besides, I am not fully prepared yet; consider this additional preparation," Hela concluded.

She separated a portion of her divine energy and crafted her Divine Avatar from it. However, in addition to her elegant form and alluring countenance, a grotesque, decaying version of herself materialized alongside.

"They always turn out repugnant. I rarely find a need for a Divine Avatar," she mused.

Without uttering another word, the avatar confidently strode through the open portal, leaving Hela behind.

In Midgard.

Amon saw a disgusting, decomposing figure of a woman coming out of the portal. From the feeling of death from her, he could conclude that she was the very Goddess of death Hela.

Without hesitation, he activated the ritual completely and imprisoned the Goddess of Death within the portal so that she could not leave or attack him.

Hela just stared at the mortal who dared to treat her like that.

"I'm sorry, madam, but without such inconveniences, we may be disturbed, I hope for your understanding."

Hela didn't say anything, because she practically didn't pay attention to that walking corpse. After all, after he opened the portal only for her disgusting avatar, he also dared to lock her in this place, she did not consider it necessary to continue living for him.

Taking her silence for approval, Amon continued. "I called you to ask you to heal me. You see, when I researched a way to summon you and found your Necrosword, I received a dose of death energy. Your death energy, so I hope as a beautiful and prudent goddess like you. As a reward for your summoning and the return of your sword, heal me and empower me for my revenge. In gratitude, all the souls of my enemies will be donated to you."

Hela understood how the spell holding her worked and said with a slight smile. "Mortal, I don't know where your confidence came from that I would heal you after you limited me with your spell, not to mention that you defiled my sword with your dirty hands."

She lied about the sword because she left it so that she could be summoned, nothing weaker than a Necrosword Puzzle reinforced by the god of rage will not help to summon her. However, this is until she gives mortals a piece of her divinity. Then they will be able to summon her quite freely using her divinity and even open the door so that her physical body can pass through.

"Goddess, I hope you will change your mind because if you don't heal me, I will have to bring your avatar to the demons for them to give me strength and healing. Or bring Dormammu to the lord of the dark dimension himself."

Hela looked through all the spells in the room once again and found a couple more circles that were tuned to the dark dimension.

"Well, I wanted to listen to your stupidity a little more before I killed you, but your life is not important at all since you decided to threaten me. "

"Well, since it's your choice, the Goddess of Death.

Amon started another ritual for sacrificing to the dark dimension, but suddenly a blade flew into his spine and nailed him right under the feet of the Goddess of Death.

"Stupid mortal, you thought that since I can't move in this incarnation, then I won't be able to use my sword. Created from my divinity. Truly, a fool like you still needs to be looked for."

Amon wanted to beg for mercy, but Hela did not let him say another word but pierced his heart with her hand and absorbed all the energy of death accumulated in his body.

"Well, the taste is so-so but quite nutritious. I have to get every bit of death energy because I have nothing to replenish in that realm. "

Hela looked around the room once again and realized that there was not even anything worthwhile here so she could experiment a little. So she looked again at the dead sorcerer, and more precisely at a couple of bones that were left of him.

"As for the poor war, there is no choice in the war. "

Taking a larger bone, she began to imbue the bone with divine energy and speak aloud. "I am the Goddess of Death, the queen of mortals, the daughter of the king of the nine worlds Hela Odinsdottir, I conjure that whoever picks up this bone will receive the blessing of death itself. He will not be afraid of mortal blades and he will have access to the magic of death itself."

The bone after the quiet words was covered with a lot of black runes and even cracked in some places. "Damn, the bone is too weak, and can't stand my runes. I also poured in too much divine energy that just went out into the world. Next time I have to act more exquisitely. "

After looking at the bone again, she realized that it would not even be possible to call up it after using the bone, so she left her the sword in place and quickly passed through the portal that was already closing.
