Chapter 159

The first floor of the Stark Building had been transformed by a professional wedding company into an opulent banquet hall. Super celebrities from various fields gathered in twos and threes, chatting as they waited for the ceremony to begin.

Many guests were there because they regarded this wedding as a high-end networking event. They hoped to expand their contacts and maybe even strike a few big deals on the spot.

Jude's loud entrance drew the attention of many attendees. As he, Ivy, and Bruce Wayne walked in, their presence immediately turned heads. Tony Stark, although gritting his teeth in frustration, could only watch as everyone turned to see who had arrived with such fanfare.

Jude and Ivy approached Bruce, who greeted them with a smile.

"I heard you've been doing well recently," Jude said, giving Bruce a light hug and a pat on the back.

"Not bad," Bruce replied. "Since the last turmoil, the underground rats have been quieter, and Gotham's crime rate has dropped a bit."

After a quick embrace, Bruce hugged Ivy. "How are Alfred, Damian, and Bridget? I miss them and Gotham."

"They're all good," Bruce smiled. "They send their regards. If you ever want to come back to Gotham, I can find you a position at Wayne Enterprises. No need to work if you don't want to."

"Haha, no thanks," Ivy replied. "I have to keep an eye on Jude, or he might end up in some random bed after a night of drinking."

Jude protested, "I've told you, it was all Wade's fault! He dragged me along, and I was too drunk to know what was happening."

"Science says drunk men can't perform," Ivy retorted. "You might not remember, but six women at once? Lucky the bed was big enough."

Jude looked at Bruce for help, but Bruce just coughed and turned away.

At this moment, Peter Parker arrived with Norman and Harry Osborn. "Mr. Herbert, you made it! I thought you wouldn't come."

Ivy glared at Jude before heading off to change into her bridesmaid dress for Pepper's wedding.

Jude grabbed a glass of champagne and sighed. "Women are so troublesome. Peter, take my advice: never get married unless you find someone who truly understands you."

"I agree, Mr. Herbert," Norman Osborn chimed in.

Peter introduced, "This is Mr. Norman Osborn, president of Oscorp, and his son, my good friend, Harry Osborn."

"Green Goblin and the second Green Goblin?" Jude muttered.

"What?" Harry asked.

"Nothing, pleased to meet you," Jude said, shaking their hands out of courtesy to Peter.

"Mr. Herbert, thank you for supporting Oscorp, especially now. I will remember your kindness," Norman said.

Peter quickly clarified, "Mr. Herbert has been a great mentor, teaching me valuable lessons."

Harry admired Peter's fortune, wishing his own father would support him similarly.

Clark Kent approached, and Jude introduced him to everyone. When he introduced Bruce Wayne, he quipped, "I think you two will become best friends."

Bruce eyed Clark intensely. "I think... we might."

Sensing something off, Clark asked, "Mr. Wayne, do you have an issue with me?"

Jude laughed. "Don't mind him. Bruce is always like this, distrustful of everyone."

Bruce asked, "Can I ask you a question, Clark?"

"Sure."

"Have you ever thought about becoming a true god on Earth? With your powers, you could."

Clark frowned. "I don't see myself as a god, Mr. Wayne. I'm here to help, not rule."

Bruce pressed, "Are you sure? People change, especially with power."

Lex Luthor, who had just arrived, interjected. "I agree with Mr. Wayne. When someone looks down on everyone else, they might start seeing people as ants. No one should have that kind of power."

Jude downed his champagne and burped. "You guys worry too much. Superman just wants to help. You're giving him titles he doesn't care about. Just let it go."

Lex Luthor introduced himself. "Lex Luthor, nice to meet you, Mr. Herbert. I've heard about your recent exploits."

"Likewise," Jude replied. "But I have to ask, are you really just an ordinary human?"

Lex laughed. "I've always believed in human potential."

Jude leaned in. "Stick around after the wedding. We need to discuss something important."

Bruce asked, "What's the matter?"

"A big event, a threat from the universe," Jude said seriously. "It's coming soon."
