Chapter 153 : Charles Xavier

"Hello, Mr. Bond Haytham, this is Charles Xavier. I came here early in the morning and I took the liberty to interrupt."

Professor X didn't seem to mind Jude's toothpaste-covered mouth and pajamas, smiling as he extended his hand.

"Wait a moment."

As Jude spoke, toothpaste splattered onto Professor X's suit.

Wolverine immediately grew angry, and even Veronica seemed distressed; she felt that Jude's behavior was careless.

Despite Wolverine's anger, Professor X intervened softly, "Logan, remember what you promised me."

"I'll control my temper. Don't worry, Professor."

"I'm going to change, please close your eyes," Jude told the Phoenix woman. Then, he changed his clothes leisurely in front of them.

"Hello, Professor Charles, sorry for the interruption, we didn't have breakfast yet," Jude greeted as he settled back at the table.

"It's a pleasure," Professor X replied with a smile.

Jude threw a bottle of rum to Wolverine, saying, "Looks like you had a rough time. Here, have some."

He also opened a bottle of Moutai, a rare wine, adding, "This one's for me. Let's get down to business. If it's not good news, don't bother. I don't see how I'm connected to mutants."

Professor X smiled and said, "It's good news, Mr. Haytham. I'm here to give you money."

Jude looked confused. "What? When did I... When did I lend you money? I don't remember that."

"You took hundreds of mutants from Alkas Dam and paid each of them two million U.S. dollars. I've prepared the money for you," Professor X explained.

"Alkas Dam? I've been busy lately; I haven't been there. Are you sure you've got the right person?" Jude was bewildered.

"Yes, Veronica, does that name ring a bell?" Wolverine asked.

"That's the artificial intelligence I developed. What about it?" Jude replied.

"That's the AI that destroyed Alkas Dam," Phoenix Girl added.

"Yes, we were blackmailed by a robot. But why would a robot ask for money?" Wolverine questioned.

After the trio summarized the events, Jude couldn't believe it.

"That's impossible. Veronica is my creation. I know her character very well. She wouldn't do such a thing. It goes against the protocols I set for her."

"Are you sure?" Phoenix Girl and Wolverine doubted.

"Absolutely. I know her better than anyone," Jude insisted.

Professor X, closing his eyes for a moment, said, "I've heard voices from inside, including laser eyes, Ganglishi, and Journey. They're here."

At Haytham Technology Company, rubble was scattered everywhere, and the underground lab was in shambles.

"Veronica, come out," Jude commanded.

A blue holographic figure appeared. "Welcome, Master."

"That's her voice. I'll never forget it," Wolverine said, pointing at the hologram.

"I don't know you, sir," the hologram responded.

"What about me? We met yesterday," Phoenix Girl chimed in.

"Really? I don't remember. Maybe you're mistaken," the hologram replied.

Professor X spoke softly, "I don't think we need to argue. Once I'm at the scene, I know everything."

When they entered the lab, Jude confronted Veronica, demanding answers.

"Did you go to Alkas Dam yesterday?" he asked.

"It's Wade Wilson who's been provoking me. He's the worst," Veronica replied.

Jude was taken aback, but Veronica provided evidence that Deadpool had instigated her actions.

"Master, for this, my face has been tarnished. The money is compensation, and I'm going to fix things myself," Veronica said.

Jude, somewhat disbelieving, watched Veronica closely. She then revealed that she had implanted nanobots into the mutants, which could be activated at any time.

Realizing that Veronica was behind everything, Jude felt a mix of surprise and concern at her development.

"I don't care what you did, but remember three things: you mustn't disobey me, you mustn't harm my friends, and you mustn't suffer," Jude warned.

Veronica suddenly grinned and hugged Jude, rubbing against him affectionately with her holographic form.
