/11/: The Odds

The whole room held their breath, they couldn't believe it until Arthur showed it to them and read it out loud. Some people tried to think that they weren't safe even in their own house. "I brought up this topic because I wanted you people and my beloved King knows and aware about this kind of situation. I want everyone to remain calm as long as I'm the hand of the king, I will protect this kingdom no matter what it cost!!!"

The crowd went wild, and Arthur succeeded with his plan. He demanded to raise the guard even the winter had come. He couldn't rest and sleep with the danger out there. He wanted to protect the kingdom and his loved people. Everyone stood up and gave him applause, Arthur stared at his father.

'Finally I can make you agree to this one, I must protect this kingdom even though my own father make me work hard. Now, you have to take this to the serious father…'

He walked back to his seat, but he noticed something wrong. His father didn't gave any expression, it made him confuse. The people behind him also gave Arthur cold eyes. 'What happened now? What with that expression?' There's two people behind the King, the prime minister and great counselor. Both of them stared with cold eyes and suddenly smiled. Arthur knew there's something wrong and he needed to fix the situation before everything seems blurry. He afraid there's something he missed out. Even though now almost everyone in the council agreed with him, he needed to made sure there's nothing wrong with that.

The meeting continued but Arthur couldn't get it straight. What happened in the council room was something new for him. He felt uneasy and knew for sure there's something wrong with the situation. After the meeting he wanted to came to the King's room and talked about it. He walked through the hallways with a lot of mixed thought, he rushed and ignore everyone.

"My Lord, that was a great speech," Suddenly someone shouted to him right before he wanted to came in to the King's room. He looked back because he recognizes the voice.

"Prime minister!?" he shocked because he barely talked to him.

Arthur was shocked when see the prime minister in front of him. Right in front of the King's room, the prime minister showed up but now with a slight smile he walked to Arthur. He knew the prime minister didn't like to waste his time to showed up and talked about nothing. It's must be something and he prepared for that.

"You look great my Prince," He smiled strangely and Arthur became more curious about it.

He sighed, "Come on Edgar, I know you're not chit chat kind of guy. Straight to the point!" Arthur knew he came with another reason. There's must be something and he knew it. The smile in Edgar face suddenly disappears and turned into serious looking.

"You're smart boy…" Arthur didn't get it what it meant, "But yet you still a boy in my eyes. Be careful with everything around you. It's cruel world and everyone should be animal if they want to survive."

"What do you mean?" Arthur confused with his words.

Edgar laughed, "You know we're not animal right, because we have ambition. That's the different, I just want to tell you that even human have ambition, we're still look like an animal. Be careful if you won't get bite."

Arthur left speechless with every word that Edgar said. He walked away and wave to him, "Nice speech by the way. Thankyou…" He smiled strangely again then disappear among the people inside the Kingdom. Arthur didn't even understand why Edgar showed up in front of him just to said those words, but he knew it meant something.

'What the hell was that? I can't understand that person from the beginning.' He thought about it for quiet time, stood in front of the King's room until someone call him from the distance. "Arthur…" it was the Queen, she looked at him curiously.

"Not usually you stood in front of King's room. Is there something important to talk about?" She asked with smile in her face, she really want Arthur to like him. Even though she knew right now Arthur didn't even want to answer her question.

"Yes, but I think I'll come by later." He walked away and left her with sadness in her face.

'Fuck, it's still hard even though my sister ask me to be nice to her. I can't accept the fact that she's my mother right now.' He had a lot of confusing feeling because he didn't want to behave like that but his heart told him differently. 'I'll talk to my father tomorrow.' He walked out and hurry to find his friends. He felt there's should be some important thing to do first before he makes a move. He wanted his friends to tell him what should he do next.

Johnathan was walking out near the maria wall to make sure there's nothing else happen. He also tried to see how the soldier response with his presence. He remembered Edmund said that there's bunch of soldiers who betray the army. He wanted to see it with his own eyes, he knew they couldn't hold it any longer. 'This just like cancer, if I can't stop this it'll expanse to the whole army. Just like cancer, there's must be symptom and I should know where's the worst part in this army.' Johnathan spoke to himself while walked under the snow and look at the guard. He hadn't seen any suspicious part at first, that's why he couldn't see the problem. 'I know I can't see the problem in the first move. Or they know that I watch them but which one? I can't tell who's my enemy and who's my friend…'

After walked and check everything in the wall, Johnathan couldn't see something wrong in there. He also couldn't come up with just Edmund story, he needed to find some evidence. There's nothing blood in the wall just like Arthur and Edmund said. He walked outside to see if there's something left, 'There's nothing in here. Are they cover it up? It was really fast, I can't even find something at all.'

"Are you find something my lord?" Someone called him from behind with smile in his face.

Johnathan also smiled, "No, I just want to guard the wall with my soldier. Umm… Who's your name?"

"Marshall my Lord, nice too meet you." He's smile towards Johnathan.

Johnathan felt something wrong with this person. He's not feeling right about this but he didn't have the choice except to ask him about the missing guard. "Can I ask you something?" Johnathan started the conversation.
