Chapter 40: The festival
"Who's this...gentleman?" mom asked pointing at Professor Steel who was also accompanied by his sister Professor Steel who've asked us to call her Professor Emma to not confuse her with her older brother
"He's my teacher for close combat...and my new temporary bodyguard"
"A teacher as a bodyguard? What did you do this time?" Eliza facepalmed
"Well he does tend to stir up a lot a trouble doesn't he?" Professor Emma chuckled
"Well..." Professor Steel then told them the full story
"Why didn't you tell us?!" Olivia shouted
"Damn these pesky nobles, no offense" John said to the Steels
"None taken" Professor Steel replied
"So this is your new bond huh" Dad was taking a look at Diana who's perching on my shoulder "I thought your mom said no more"
"Well I'm not living at the house, so I thought that I can break a few rules" I shrugged
"You're my kid alright, your mom won't like it though"
"Well not only that, he also got himself a new bodyguard" my mom said "Damon was it? Please take care of my son, he always tend to give us a heart attack"
"It is my pleasure" he bowed "He consider me as family, I also took the same last name, it is the least I can do"

"Hahaha, welcome to the family" Dad laughed
"Your family is definitely going to become one of the strongest in the continent" Luke laughed "Don't forget about our workshop when you guys become famous"
"Of course, you're the only ones who give us a discount"
-Cheapskate- Dabria insulted
"So when are you fighting this guy, big bro?" Oliver asked
"Yeah, when can we see you beat him up?" Emily added
"Violent kids, it seems to run in the family" Professor Steel grumbled and his sister giggled
"Well right now the tournament is just the regular fights, my fight should be right after it finishes which is in a few days, we're just waiting for Eleanor and Albert right now, they want to hang out with us during the festival"
Albert then arrived with 2 people, a guy about our age, glasses, light green eyes and yellow hair and the other was a girl, judging from her clothing, she's a noble, blue eyes and blonde hair.
"I hope you don't mind them joining us" Albert said "This is Lucas Stoll" he introduced the guy
"Nice to meet ya" he waved his hand
"And this is Cecily Tails"
"A pleasure to meet you"
-Even from the way she greeted us, she's definitely a noble, even the Lucas guy, he got good quality clothing, but he's that one unusually casual noble-
-If it is anything like those novels, they both would be very talented in what they do- Ace replied
-He already got another girl, he's already building his harem, damn it-
-Yep, I knew you were going to say that- Dabria sighs
Eleanor then arrived with Balor and a couple more bodyguards.
"Ah princess, it is a pleasure to be in your presence" I bowed
"You know I hate it when you do that, yet you still do it" Eleanor sighs
"Hey Eleanor!" Lucas said
"Hey Lucas and Cecily" she replied
"You guys know each other?"
"We're all in the same healing class" she answered
"I heard a lot from the rumors, you're a lot more chill in person" Lucas said "You supposedly have a scary glare and have a very scary personality"
"The was just the rumors people come up with after he fought with Professor Steel" Cecily replied
"Wait he fought with the teacher?" Olivia asked
"It was tradition"
"Well the result wasn't like any other tradition" Professor Steel retorted
"What did he do?" John asked
The professors then told them what I did, they didn't leave any detail
"So it was all true?" Lucas asked
"You are crazy young man, what you did was super dangerous" John scolded
"Well let's all get going and have our fun shall we?"
"Stop trying to change the subject" Mom replied, my family then spent a very long time lecturing me on why I should never do it again
We then all stroll around the festival, we all got dinner together and us students go back to our dorms for our rest, during the festival we can go out till later than usual. Professor Emma seems to like strolling with us because we basically got free bubble teas and Ice-cream since we're the owners.
The day of my schedule fight arrived.
"You sure you don't need anything else?" Luke asked "You can run to our workshop for any equipment you want and return back in time"
"No need, I got this robe, the breastplate you gave me and these shoes, which are all at least A-ranks, it will be enough against him"
"I'll be the referee for the match, I can delay the match a bit if I want, he's a noble, he's definitely going to have a lot of higher rank equipments, you can run for equipments now if you want" Professor Steel said
"Well then, it'll just make the fight more exciting, won't it?" I smiled
Professor Steel then smiled
"I like that response, but don't worry, I'll stop the fight before it goes too far, the results won't matter whether you win or lose, my sister will protect your family in the stands in case anything happens, so just focus on your fight kid"
"Well good luck on your fight" Albert patted my shoulder
"I finally get to see one of your fights in person" Lucas said
-Wait why is his hair color different? It's green now-
-I don't know what you're talking about- Ace replied
-You should've have gotten more sleep- Siege joined in
-We should limit your trainings at night- Diana suggested
-Agreed- Damon nodded
-He finally gotten cuckoo- Dabria agreed
I blinked and his hair color changed again, it's blue now
<Maybe I do need more sleep>
"Good luck on your fight, not that you need it" Eleanor said "I won't be able to join you guys since as a princess, they'll give me a more secure position to sit in" she apologized to Albert, Lucas and Cecily
"That's fine" Cecily replied
"Hope you beat him up a lot, big bro" Emily tugged on my robe
"Yeah, you are invincible after all" Oliver added
John ushered the kids away, after my family wished me luck, I head in to the arena. There was so many spectators cheering
"This fight is also to show off the power of our academy, so do a good job kid" Professor Steel whispered before heading to the stage. All my bond walked alongside me, Ace and Diana are on my shoulders as usual, Siege was walking beside me and Damon was walking behind me
"There he is, the top scorer of the Artia Academy's first years" The announcer announced "Perseus Silver, he is currently 12 years old, at the light red core"
Then the bastard came from the other side, he was wearing a full set of light armor under his robe, he holds a staff in one hand and a mana orb with the other, what accompanied him surprised us even more, especially Ace.
-It's the same bear- Ace snarled
-Unfortunately we can't kill the bear due to the rules-
-So this was the bear that killed your parents Ace?- Dabria asked
My companions knew the past of Ace, but they never actually saw the memories, so they don't really know what the bear looked like
-It's no better time for your revenge- Siege said
-It's your time to shine- Damon added
-Thank you guys- Ace replied
"On the other side is Reynolds Franklin Noblesse of the Noblesse family, age 16 and a mid purple core, he is also accompanied by his bond Maximillian the bear"
"Seems like we were meant to be enemies, my cat hates your bond"
"My bear seems to remember yours too, though it's been a very long time" he replied "It's finally a day where I can show you that a being like me was meant to be on a stage like this"
"You boys ready?" Professor Steel asked
"Of course" I answered then called Dream Eater to my hand
"Nice sword, where'd you steal it from?" the noble mocked
"I'll take that as a yes" Professor Steel nodded "You boys already know the rules, you both fight till I determine whether one side can't continue or if one side surrenders...START!"
-Since we can't kill them, we'll just make them wish for it-
-I plan on doing exactly that- Ace replied -Leave the bear to me-
His bear charged in and the bastard then prepare a big spell.
I ignored the bear and charged directly at the noble whose long name I can't remember even though I can just scroll up to read it.
