While Feonix was planning how to stop a powerful opponent who would heavily devastate the village if they reached it, his son Lit was about to start a fight with every rodent that isn't a pet in the village.
From what was able to see of the last few months when going outside, there couldn't be more than 500 people in this village. Yet he was able to see some rats hiding under buildings or dragging off trash to eat. Sometimes the rats got big enough to eat an unsuspecting child.
Not that that would happen as everyone in the village took very good care of themselves and each other from what Lit has seen. Most houses were made of big rocks, mud, and the occasional brick. Most of the brick buildings were where important people resided.
Lit had to guess that his father and mother were some influential people in the village, that or maybe they had more money than others and bought or paid someone to build such a nice home. It wasn't massive mind you, but it was as big as the village bar.
Now don't let that sway you to think his village was trashy because it wasn't. Almost all the roads were cleared of all debris and barely had any leaves on them. Yes, the roads were dirt, but what else would you expect from a small village? Almost everyone knew everyone, and Lit has yet to see any kind of conflict between the villagers.
Or maybe his mother is just good at keeping her children away from such things.
Anyways, right now Lit had his shadow cat familiar going towards the forest where he last saw the most rats. Lit didn't expect his familiar to kill or beat every single rat, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't at least try to get the cat to level up at least once tonight.
In order to make sure that his cat wouldn't die after killing only one rat, he used the skill point and Attribute point on the cat. Since the cat was by himself and had limited mana and health, Lit had to figure out what abilities would be the best for the cat.

Picking the [Shadow knife] skill, Lit decided that upgrading the cat's intelligence would be the best. Since every single point put into intelligence gives the user 2 Mana Points.
Once the cat arrived at the last house on the edge of the village he gave the cat the order to crawl underneath the house where the rats had burrowed and constructed a house.
After crawling underneath the house the car found a hole that could easily fit a toddler and proceeded to crawl in while having its senses on high alert. Lit knew his familiar would be at a disadvantage with the cramped space it was moving into which would make his new ability basically useless.
Lit understood that and made a plan for it, but the whole plan would only work if the cat could piss off the rats enough to chase it out. Since it was a rat it shouldn't be that difficult to trick it.
Once the familiar got deep enough it found a small rat that was looking toward the entrance of the tunnel. When lit that he decided to do something stupid, and have the cat use its new ability [Shadow knnife] already.
As soon as the ability was cast, the familiar lunged forward as the knife moved with it, aiming straight for the rat before it could scream for help. Right as the rat saw the familiar it was already too late by that time, as the knife penetrated the rat's head but not early enough to stop it from letting out a small squeal alerting its brethren.
As soon as the rat was dead, Lit ordered the cat to run outside the house and wait for the rats.
Soon a dozen rats popped up and lit ordered the cat to cast the ability again. Since it was a stackable ability, the cat would have to knife protect it.
When the rats saw that the familiar was all alone with some floating knives, they lunged for the cat all at once. It was a nasty fight, as the cat just tried to keep a small bit of distance away from the rats so they would be attacked by the knives.
Dodging, running around the house, and even jumping on the rat carcasses, sometimes on the living rats, the familiar did everything its master told it to. After killing 4 rats, the first knife to be summoned broke and turned into dark particles that drifted into the dirt before disappearing.
Using that opportunity, the rats started to charge even harder at the familiar. But the familiar already leveled up at that point and was awarded an extra skill point and attribute point.
Once the level-up happened, Lit upgraded the familiar's intelligence and then bought the [Shadow Spikes] skill. Then ordered the cat to let the rats get closer until the rat regenerated one more mana point.
After another 3 minutes did the familiar have enough mana to use its new skill? Letting as many rats gather around it, right as the rats lunged at it, it activated its skill [Shadow Spikes]. Instantly 6 rats were killed, and 3 other rats were heavily injured.
Noticing this, Lit had the cat finish the rats off before rushing back to the house to rest and digest the whole battle.
Once the cat got home, lit had it sleep in the hole made the rat in the corner of his room. Checking his stats before going to bed, Lit couldn't wait for tomorrow's hunt as well.
He added the attribute from the cat's level up toward its intelligence again and bought the [Shadow arrow] skill before going to bed and saving his skill point but dumping all 3 of his attribute points into his wisdom.
