Time Flies By

Days and Months flew by as I continued to empty my magic as much as I could. The day I tried silent spell-casting my parents came back and handed me a black eye-patch to cover my curse eye. The patch itself was a bit big, but I will be growing a lot so I will grow into it quickly. It also had an adjustable strap so I went ahead and adjusted it for my small head.

After that day I experimented with the other elemental magics while I depleted my mana pool. I tried each basic spell with each magic getting the feel of how each element manifested. After that I was able to manipulate the element although with more concentration than usual. Eventually I couldn't deplete my mana pool with just a couple minutes of using magic, so I started to use whenever I could.

My parents saw me use magic, but they've already talked about their support for me so they don't care much. That's why they had no complaints when I used magic for convenience. For example, In the summer I would have a draft of air flowing near me to keep my cool, and in the winter I would have fire near me to keep me warm.

Water and earth were a bit harder to use all of the time, so I only practiced those when I had free time. However, earth had one special use for me and that was practicing my strength control. I have a blessing which gives me enormous strength, like Zanoba, but it's also kind of a curse because it's hard to control this strength. Earth magic helped me a lot with this. To practice controlling my strength I would pull some dirt from the ground, make it a bit easier to manipulate with water and I would sculpt it with my hands.

A lot of frustrating times ensued where I would mess up slightly or just outright crush what I was trying to make. Eventually I was able to get to the point where I wasn't accidentally snapping utensils or destroying my crib.

Besides my magic and physical training, I finally found out what my dad did for work. He was actually a hunter who helped keep our village safe by hunting beasts. That's also how I found out what village I was living in. Turns out I live in Buena Village, the same village where Rudeus was reincarnated.

The only reason I found this out was because he invited another hunter over for dinner, that hunter being Sylphiette's father. He brought Sylphy over too but she was too young to talk or do anything really so it was a bit boring to hang out with her.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another year goes by and I'm officially 2 years old. I've gotten to the point where I can't fully deplete my pool of magic passively. Even with intermediate tier magic it's hard to deplete it with constant use. Although, it is a bit hard to use it since it's so powerful. I don't want to cause any issues with the villagers since we already get harassed from time to time for being non-human.

I've started to travel to the forest near our house to use magic so that the destruction doesn't alarm anyone. Some beasts would come by but they're a little to weak even when I'm this young. Even without magic my pure physical strength can take them out.

It has been a bit monotonous this last year, but today is different. My mother and father have noticed me struggling in my magic progress so they decided to help get me a magic tutor. The only problem was that they didn't know any magic tutors since they don't go outside of the village much.

That's when my dad had a bright idea, and that was to go to the protector of the village, Paul Greyrat. Their house wasn't too far from us so we walked through the village to get there. We got a few stares but it's not unusual. after about 30 minutes we got to their house, the biggest I've seen since I've been here.

We go up to their door and my dad knocks. A couple seconds later we hear a male voice, "I'll be right there! Just give me one second."

A minute went by of us standing there until a tall man, just a bit shorter than my dad, opens the door. Paul looks at my dad with his eyebrows raised, "Callon, how can I help you? Have beasts attacked the village?"

My dad responded to his alarm with a small laugh, "No no, nothing like that. I just had a small request to ask of you."

Paul laughs with him, "Well if that's the case come inside, we can discuss what you need over some food."

After that small exchange we all went inside, as we went inside I could already smell food being cooked. I assume it's Lilia who is cooking since Zenith is sitting in the living room with a toddler about the same age as me.

As we go to sit down I have to admire the house and decorations. It's just so much nicer than our house. The couches, tables, paintings, it's odd to say but it makes me feel cozy. Our house isn't bad, but it doesn't feel complete like this house.

While admiring the house I look over to Zenith and the baby she's holding. When I do I notice Zenith catches me looking. She gives a small smile and says in a soft voice, "Well hello there, you must be Arthur."

I gave a small nod to her as I kept looking at the baby. She kept going in a more joking manner, "I see you've taken an interest in my baby Rudy, she's a little to young now but maybe in the future..." Zenith and my parents laugh together at her joke while I smile cluelessly, after all I'm just two years old.

While they laugh and make small talk, forgetting about me, I think about what Zenith said. She called Rudeus a she. I didn't think this would happen when I chose for the protagonist to not be reincarnated.

I thought they would just not have a baby this soon, but it turns out they still had Rudeus. The only difference being he's a she now, she's a regular baby, and her name is Rudy instead of Rudeus. This isn't a bad thing though, it even makes one of my goals a bit easier.

I think back to when I had filled out the CYOA. This CYOA was different than most CYOA's when it comes to difficulty. In most of these, the creator makes it so that the harder the difficulty, the less points you have to use when choosing options. However in this CYOA, the harder the difficulty, the more points you have to use.

The downside to taking a harder difficulty is that you have to help either Orsted or Hitogami in some tasks. I chose hard difficulty which gave me a lot of points to use, but in return I had to do 3 minor and 1 major task for Orsted. One of those minor tasks was... to get 3 women to fall in love with me.

It seems weird to ask for, but I won't complain. Coming back to the present, that's why I think Rudeus being a girl is a boon. Along with Sylphy, that's already 2 girls down if they fall in love with me. As long as I spend time with them it should be fairly easy to cultivate their love for me. Which sounds a bit evil... but you have to do what you have to do!

Around 10 more minutes go by before Paul comes in with some sweets Lilia made. He put them on a small table in front of the couch we were sitting in and sat next to Zenith, putting an arm around her.

He looks at my dad and says with a more serious tone, "So Callon, what is that request you asked for."

My dad also adopts a similar tone and says, "You may not believe what I say, but I want to get a magic tutor for my son here, Arthur." As he says that he turns and looks at me. He continues, "I know it may be hard to believe but my son is a genius, he's already using magic at two years old. I can even have him show you some if you need proof."

Paul looks at my father with a skeptical face, "I want to believe you, but using magic at two years of age? How would a two year old even have the mental capacity to understand magic?"

My father replies, "That's why I'm telling you he's a genius, Arthur show him one of your spells."

I don't want to destroy the house, so I just lit a small flame above my finger. That's when Zenith yelled out in surprise, "Incantation-less magic! Oh Saint Millis he's a genius!" She grabs Paul's face with both of her hands and turns his head to face her and says, "We must get him a tutor, we can't waste a talent like this!"

Paul could only nod with his face squished making him look like a duck.
