Tutor

Another couple weeks go by waiting for the tutor to come. After the whole "I'm a genius" thing with Paul and Zenith, our families got closer. We visited them quite often and I would play with Rudy while my parents socialized with the Greyrat family.

Although it's not that fun having to play with Rudy, it's funny to see how she reacts when I use my magic. I would create little dolls for her to play with and make fairies out of water and fire to fly around. The fairies themselves were amazing practice because controlling and forming a raw element took intense concentration and magic compared to something like a fireball.

But besides my amusement from Rudy's reactions and some good practice, everything else was boring. The one thing I'm excited for is the tutor. I've hit somewhat of a slump in my magic abilities, and it's not because of my lack of talent since I have god-ranked talent in magic. It's mostly inspiration and my lack of knowledge on magic.

In theory, since I'm reincarnated I should be able to just remember every single detail of my past life, unfortunately the CYOA didn't have the option for perfect memory. So even though I can think of some clever applications like using healing magic to grow plant life, the more powerful spells elude me.

That's why when Paul called me to the front door because the tutor was here I practically flew towards the door, but when I saw who it was I couldn't help but sigh internally. I should've known who it was going to be. I bought a saint-tier tutor in the CYOA and we asked the Greyrat family for a tutor. Obviously Roxy is the one who will show up.

I'm not complaining though, she was a good teacher to Rudeus and might have some ideas to help me through my slump. Just like in the anime, Roxy didn't believe Paul when he said I was a magical genius. To save on time I went ahead and made a water fairy which I sent to give Roxy a kiss on the cheek.

A light blush made it's way onto her face before it disappeared, and in it's place was disbelief. With a gasp she said, "It's true?! Incantation-less magic and a spell I have never seen before!"

Out of the corner of my eye I see Zenith nodding in understanding. I nodded to Roxy and with a cute voice said, "Yes, I've hit a slump in my magic studies and I would like you to teach me." After I said that I did a light bow.

Roxy saw my seriousness and responded in kind. With a hand on her chest she said, "Alright, I believe you! I will teach you magic."

A couple more minutes went by where Paul showed Roxy where she was going to stay. She couldn't stay at our house since we only had on bedroom, so naturally since Roxy was staying here Paul asked if I would like to stay as well. I took him up on his offer since it would suck having to walk 30 minutes here and back everyday.

Paul ended up rooming me and Roxy together since he had no other free rooms, but I won't complain about that. Roxy also didn't care seeing as how I'm only 2 years old. I also finally met Lilia who only gave me a small wave before going back to what she was doing.

After seeing our room I went back out to say goodbye to my parents. They said they'll visit often but it's going to be different not seeing them everyday. Once my parents left Roxy and I went back to our room to go to sleep. We were both tired, Roxy from traveling and me from entertaining Rudy.

Before I went to sleep I looked over at Roxy in the twin sized bed on the other side of the room. Seeing that she hasn't gone to sleep yet I called out to her, "Hey Roxy, I just wanted to say goodnight and I'm excited for our lessons."

Roxy looked up from the book she was reading and gave me a small smile, "Goodnight Arthur, and I'm excited to see what you will achieve as well."

Seeing that she went back to reading her book I turned over to my side and tried to get some rest.

The next couple of years were a bit of a blur. Roxy and I practiced magic together with each other almost everyday. I say with each other because there wasn't much she could teach me after a couple months. I was able to reach saint ranked magic in water in a couple of weeks. Her teachings also gave me some ideas to reach saint-ranked magic in the other elements too.

For water magic I just used cumulonimbus like how Roxy taught. She didn't know any other saint-ranked magic, so for air I just created small tornado-like winds. Which was strong enough to be considered saint-ranked magic. I could've probably made a tornado based on my mana pool, but I didn't want to destroy the village so I held off on that.

An earth saint-rank spell was a bit harder to make, so I just used quagmire but on a wider scale creating a small biome. Finally for fire, I created a wave of fire that expanded in every direction. It burned a lot of things but Roxy and I were able to put it out before it spread too far.

Roxy wanted to leave when she finished teaching me the saint-ranked water magic, but I was able to convince her to stay when I offered to teach her Incantation-less magic. She was also able to advance some of her other elemental abilities with my help.

Besides training with magic, I also taught Rudy some magic by the time we were both nearing 4 years old. She didn't understand most of the stuff but I was slowly getting closer to her, and she was also raising her mana pool. She still has the laplace factor so she hasn't lost any potential.

As I continued to teach her she started to be a bit more clingy towards me. It's probably because I'm really the only person around her age that she talks to, but I anticipated this. Although, Paul does give me some glares whenever he sees her around me.

Finally, it's a couple days before my 5th birthday and I promised Sylphy I would go out to play with her today. We don't get to play much since I've been busy with magic practice so I'm kind of excited to meet up with her. Plus she can hold a good conversation now that she's learned how to speak.

But, as I came up to the arrival spot I wasn't expecting to see Sylphy trying to run away from some older boys beating her up.
