Two Humans Appear!

Why… Why are there humans here!?

Scaly could not believe what was happening in front of her.

She had just opened her eyes after spending the entire day before hunting down the oversized rats, getting extremely close to reaching level 5 and going through her first evolution!

After the death of the giant lizards, it had become way easier to hunt the oversized rats with nobody else present on the entire floor to contend with her. Leaving the oversized rats shaking in fear at the sight of her tiny body!

But just as she went to sleep happily thinking about how she would hunt a few more oversized rats and finally take her first step towards evolving into a dragon, a human had suddenly appeared and destroyed her sleeping quarters located beneath a few exposed tree roots that had created a natural safe nest for her!

Bang!

Another human suddenly came crashing down as the rest of her beautiful nest was completely destroyed!

If not for the fact that she reacted quickly and left the nest before the human had crashed down from above, she would have ended up being squashed to death under the weight of said human!

What was even worse, was that she saw the human in question struggling with an oversized rat on top of him.

The oversized rat had properly jumped on the human male in front of her and caused said human to stumble and fall down on the place where she was sleeping.

The other human who had fallen down first and nearly crushed her to death while still sleeping, was also struggling with an oversized rat on top of him, unable to get up again as he tried his best to keep the sharp teeth of the oversized rat at bay. Stopping them from biting down and tearing his neck apart.

"…"

She had nearly been crushed to death by these two!? She! Scaly! A future dragon! Had nearly been crushed to death by two weak humans struggling against the oversized rats, that she had easily been killing over the last few days!?

Scaly suddenly felt an unknown form of anger grow inside of her towards the two weak humans struggling against the two oversized rats and was about to launch an attack to kill the two…

But just as she was preparing to launch a spell towards the two of them, she suddenly remembered the giant lizard and the powerful humans who had appeared to kill it.

If she killed these two humans, would the strong human called Eric appear again and hunt her down like he had the giant lizard…?

Thinking this, Scaly could not help but shake fearfully as she quickly put away any thoughts, she had about killing the two weak humans in front of her.

No matter what, she had no plan to offend any strong humans who could easily kill off the giant lizard… At least not until she herself was strong enough…

"Argh!"

"NO! Hold on brother!"

As Scaly was lost in thought, the human who had been struggling to hold back the oversized rat on top of him, could no longer keep it up, as the oversized rat managed to bite into his shoulder.

Directly ripping off a large piece of it off as the human beneath it violently kicked it away before standing up again.

The other human also saw some change as the scream of his brother seemed to have invoked some kind of new strength in him, as he managed to push the oversized rat away before picking up a sword laying just beside him and piercing it into the head of the oversized rat.

Ptch!

Blood began flowing out from the wound as the oversized rat fell dead on the ground, but the human did not pay any attention to this fact as he instead hurried over and helped the other human.

Ptch!

With another clean attack, the final oversized rat was successfully killed, a large chunk of human shoulder could still be seen inside its mouth as it fell dead on the ground.

"Brother… A-are you okay…?"

Watching from the side as the two humans began consoling each other, Scaly could simply not compare them to the strong humans that she had seen a few days earlier defeating the giant lizard with ease…

There are weak and strong humans…

Thinking this to herself, Scaly closely watched the two humans as they began making their way back towards where they came from with the two oversized rats.

Maybe it's because they are young humans… Young humans are weak… Older humans are strong…?

Observing the two humans, Scaly finally noticed a large difference between them and the humans she had seen earlier.

The humans walking away from her with the two oversized rats, were way smaller than the humans that she had seen earlier.

The human called Eric she had seen fighting head on with the giant lizard was close to two meters tall, while the humans in front of her was barely one and a half meters tall…

Either humans grew taller the stronger they were or the humans in front of her were just younger humans compared to the ones she had seen a few days ago…

But, deep inside of herself, Scaly knew that the humans in front of her was just young humans… The feeling of this was weird, but in the end, Scaly accepted the fact that the humans in front of her should just be young humans.

Humans would not grow taller the stronger they grew… Or would they…?

Thinking about this to herself, Scaly realized that the two human children were already gone at this point.

So, with nothing more to do, Scaly left her now destroyed home full of regret.

Even though it had only been a few days, she had grown to like her small nest beneath the tree roots…

For now, she would have to find a few more oversized rats to kill and go through her first evolution!
