Iemis searched for the tiger girl on his own. Dedicated to knowing what had happened to the girl he looked into the mortals who knew her. As a mortal she had been bound to living in the mortal realm. There were not very many who were capable nor had reason to attack such a kind tiger girl from the beastman tribe.
It was not until he found nothing that he became more suspicious. The more deeply he looked into the area of the village the girl lived in and gave birth to her child he began to notice it. A lingering bit of mana had been unable to be covered up by the god that had been involved in Chynir's case with the missing girl.
Thud!
Iemis felt his heart drop in his chest as he recognized the mana. He knew instantly who had been in the village. During this realization that only solidified his own doubt. There was little he could do on his own about the god going rogue. Bound to his own restrictions as a god he could not kill another living thing with his own hands no matter how out of control another became.
Pushing out his own mana to collide with the other god's mana he searched the mountainside from top to bottom. Tracking and search every place he found that showed signs of he other god. Finding feint signs of the other god having entered one of his dungeons outside of Theapan's capital, he went inside to investigate.
"Wa...Wahh.. Wahhhh!" The sounds of a crying baby entered his ears as he searched around the end of the dungeon.
"A child?" Iemis thought out loud while walking towards the sound curiously with a worried expression hidden deep within the gaze in his colorless eyes.
It was not by much but the wolf could see the god speeding up his steps as he rushed over to the baby. In the same room that the wolf had found the young Chase he was witnessing Iemis finding the baby version of that child.
If you found him why was he still there later? The wolf thought as he watched the god.
"Kalen!" Iemis called out a name familiar to Vorbuk. It was a name that he had not heard in a while.
A warp in the air started to open up behind Iemis. Out of the portal a pale blue man with four large wings began to step forward, "Thou shall heed your wish, thy lord."
Iemis seemed unfazed by the unique way Kalen spoke in front of him, "You shall remain here and watch over the child. He can not be allowed to be found by outsiders."
"Yes." Kalen bowed respectfully to the god as his loyalty was bound to Iemis. Willing to follow his master's command even at the cost of his own life. That loyalty was something the wolf knew all too well about. "How shall thou remain here?"
Iemis hesitated. "Invalid. There is no way to know when it will be safe to bring that child out into the world."
"Shall I be remaining," There was a feint pause in Kalen's question as if he disliked the thought of being entrapped in the dungeon, however that was not something anyone could easily agree to if they were in their right mind, "indefinitely?"
Holding the baby in his arms the god walked towards Kalen while staring down into the baby's green eyes that sparkled like emeralds, "I apologize for putting this matter on you, Kalen."
"I am bound to thy lord. Thou shall follow your request through til the end." Kalen bowed respectfully to the god before casting a glimpse in the direction of the child in the god's arms. There was a hint of curiosity behind that gaze at the child.
A while later Iemis left the dungeon. Leaving the baby behind with the care of the new dungeon master, Kalen. Returning himself to the heavenly realm's palace. In the hallways he could see and hear the other gods scurrying around as they gossiped.
"Iemis, please!" Chynir called out to him from across the heavenly palace's hallways.
Iemis halted as he turned to look at Chynir. He was shuffling across the palace hallway to get to him in a rush. There was only one reason Chynir came to find him lately since the tiger girl had vanished. It was only recently that Chynir had found out she was killed by the person who took her and the baby. His chest felt tight as he thought about how he had found the child.
"Iemis," Chynir pleaded with him the moment he caught up with Iemis, "I need to find the child. She had our child! The other gods won't help so I need you to please help me this time!"
Chaotic. The look in Chynir's eyes was chaotic. He did not only want to find the child. Chynir wanted to kill the one behind everything. That self destructive behavior was what made Iemis ponder what was truly the best course of action.
"Do you want your child? Or do you want to kill the person who did this to you, Chynir?" Iemis bluntly asked him what he thought causing other gods in the palace halls to freeze in silence.
Chynir was speechless for a long time before answering him, "You know who it is... You know?!"
"Invalid." Iemis was frustrated because he could not response to his question honestly.
"Who was it?!" Chynir demanded to know the one behind everything.
Iemis did not like the idea of giving Chynir the name of the one he felt was behind everything, "You can not have both.. If you find that child what are you going to do with it? Brush it aside while you obsess over your revenge? The child will die over your vengeance."
"It does not matter if you help me." Chynir felt like laughing at the fact that Iemis was denying to help him again. He could not understand what reason the god had to withhold information from him. The child was his own and yet nobody would help return the child to him. His own beloved was slaughtered while he was away and no other gods would help him find out who was involved.
"Chynir." Iemis simply spoke one word, his name. There was a clear line being drawn between them as Iemis was not willing to feed Chynir's thirst for revenge. If that child was brought out of the dungeon with Chynir in his current condition he would only become cannon fodder for revenge. He was not willing to let himself be the one who sent the child to death in that situation.
Chynir could tell that Iemis was not going to help him at all. In fact he was not surprised because Iemis had been refusing to help him the entire time. Having been investigating secretly so that Chynir had no idea he could only feel betrayed by Iemis's refusal.
"I will take care of things on my own." Chynir grit his teeth together as he turned and stormed off. Not willing to listen to the sounds of Iemis calling out his name from behind.
