The Beach (1)

Red was a bit nervous, he was used to just being him and Sam, but now he was going out with a bunch of girls.

"There they are." said liz

Nat, Nana and Ben were waiting at a doorstep of a house. The neighborhood looked oddly familiar to red. He had an ominous feeling that he couldn't shake off. The houses all looked alike, and were quite fancy.

Nat wore black shorts with a white shirt tucked in.

Nana was wearing a brown skirt with a white line on the edges and a pink t-shirt tied at the ends, it looked stylish.

Ben, wore something a little rough. She wore tight black jeans and a long oversized blue T-shirt with a yellow cap. she didn't look girly at the least, but it had its own charm and suited her well.

"Hi"

"Sup red."

"Hello"

All three greeted as they got in the car. red greeted back and drove. what he didn't notice is the looks he started getting from the girls, but liz did.

"I knew it, they just wanted to meet red didn't they." thought liz, this was their idea after all.

All the girls were looking at red with excitement. They heard a lot of rumors about Red, they saw the fight and were very interested in meeting him, a ranker.

Red was still in his own little world. The girls talked and laughed while he just listened or sometimes got lost in thought. He was cultivating, he's been doing that whenever he could.

'Body tempering : 2898 / 3000'

This is very important, a mage usually lacks defense, and this body tempering technique is solving that problem for red. even with his other defensive spells, they would still have weakness.

The laughter and conversations of the girls made the ride go faster. red would comment and talk with them sometimes. they would ask him about what he does and about him. He always answered patiently.

Nat looks out the window and gasps. an endless and beautiful sea speared, all the girls were stunned. they swam in pools and whatnot but nothing could beat the view and uniqueness of the beach.

There were what looked like cabins stacked neatly all across the sand. people rent those to rest in or keep their stuff safe. Red rented one online, after parking and getting their things out, they went to the reception and got the key.

They headed down excitedly, found their cabin and put their things in there and without a second of delay, the girls went into a room and changed then dashed out to swim. Red laughed at them and started organizing and checking the place. it was not that big, for the exception of the main room, where they put their things, only one other small room was available.

The main room had 2 couches and a small wooden table, a decorated carpet with other flower pots and two windows near the door covered by light blue curtains.

In the small room, it had a bed with a huge closet next to it, two night stands on both sides plus a small window.

After making sure everything was in place, red removed his shirt and after placing a detection spell he got from the guild, locked the door and left.

The new detection spell was something he bought after he found it. it was like a sensor where whenever someone other than the people the caster allows, disturbs it. it alarms the caster.

The beach was huge, red couldn't find the girls for a bit, so he decided to walk around and look at the place. He never came to a beach before so he liked the atmosphere. He walked around, found some shops that were selling all kinds of food. Red got some ice cream, he saw a small performance where people were watching and cheering. it was some sort of body building thing, they were showing off.

Red wasn't impressed by it, he's a ranker and probably can carry ten times more. He walked back to the cabin, and decided to look for the girls.

While walking around, Red noticed that people would look at him once or twice, and some would even stare. He didn't understand why and didn't care.

Little did he know, red does not look like the skinny and weak looking kid from back then. with the body tempering and the magic aura around him, he looked well built and quite eye catching, with his already good looking face becoming brighter, people couldn't help but stare.

Red had his phone with him, and he would check it over and over again.

Red figured out that he can trade books that he bought from the guild with other people. he already traded so many times and got a ton of new skills for the price of one. of course he might be the only one that can do that, he can learn the skills that took others weeks in just hours. the books can't be copied since that would be against the guilds rules, and no one dared to attempt it, which is why people started to trade their books after learning the skills.

One of the new skills that red liked was called pressure. depending on the magic energy of the caster, a certain level of pressure would be directed towards the caster's target. This was a common skill that rankers had, it was an easy and safe way to determine the level difference in power between other rankers, but it had its other uses.

After looking around for a bit, Red saw Ben with tears in her eyes. Red ran over without thinking, he didn't know what was happening but seeing Ben like that made him think of the worst.

"What's wrong, why are you crying?" asked Red with a worried expression. He cast a healing touch on her to make her feel comfortable.

Ben looked up and was glad to see red, she wore blue shorts and a white shirt, she wore her swimming suit underneath, but she probably was planning on swimming with the shorts on.

"I was looking for you" said Ben as she started crying again. "Some guys started harassing us, and they kept pushing it. i guess they thought i was a guy and one of them pushed me and told me to fuck off"

Red got angry, they just got here and problems have already started. He took Ben's hand, and asked her with a comforting voice to lead him to where they were.

Ben blushed a little, but then she got back to her senses and started walking "It's this way."

"Fuck off, we're not interested asshole." Nat screamed.

Nat, nana and liz were surrounded by 2 guys. The first one was a little tall, had short blond hair and a sharp noise, his eyebrows were thick. his looks were average at best.

The second guy had long brown hair and a scar on his forehead, it looked intimidating. he had an ugly grin on his face. He was grabbing nats' and nanas' arms, he was laughing while they hit his arms to let go but failed. The first guy was holding both of liz's arms forcefully.

It was making quite the scene but people only looked away for some reason. liz saw that and yelled for help but no one did anything.

Red was following Ben while holding her arm. as they were walking red heard some people whisper.

"It's those guys again, they have their eyes on other girls now. I feel bad for them."

"Those assholes are really an eyesore, they do shit like this everyday."

"If they didn't have a ranker with them. I would have kicked their asses."

"Should we call the cops?"

"I don't think it'll make a difference, people always tried calling the cops, but they always came late."

"That's fucking suspicious man."

With every conversation redhead, he got more and more angry. He really hated arrogant people, since Stan's incident red was more aggressive. even when he's walking in the street and some wanna be thugs annoy him, he would beat and humiliate them.

After a couple of seconds, they got in view of what was happening. Red let go of Ben's hand and told her to wait here, she hesitated but stayed.

Red tried to calm himself down, he was getting too angry and he even thought about killing these guys, but he wasn't alone, nor was he in a secluded place like the other incidents. He didn't want to scare the girls or do something over the top.

"Red!" Nat and Nana yelled when they saw him approach. as the two guys looked at him, they frowned.

Red was intimidating himself, after reaching such a level, he was taller and well built. He had a mysterious aura around him. As he approached he started releasing his mana, with the energy being released, the sand and air around red were moving strangely. This dominating presence has made the two of them let go of the girls and back off. as soon as the girls were released, they ran over to red.

"Let's go" said red as he glared at the two clowns.

As he started to walk back with the girls, he heard someone from behind him. "You think you're tough? We have a ranker with us as well. He asked for those girls." the second guy shouted. "Since you're a ranker as well, we'll go easy on you, hand them over and fuck off. then we'll pretend this has never happened." a grin appeared on his face. "Hurry u.."

Before he could finish, 2 meters in front of him, a huge explosion happened. sand and air currents hit the two of them as they tripped and fell.

"Don't push your luck. i didn't do anything to you two because i didn't want the girls to see something like that." said red with a cold tone that sent chills down their spines.

They didn't dare to say anything else, people around were shocked by the attack, it was a mana bullet. it didn't have the explosive power as the mana bolt, but it was more concentrated and more dangerous, even with its small size, it managed to bear such results, even red was surprised. the girls looked at red with admiration, it was quick and no one saw him casting it.

"You dare do this?" a deep voice came from behind the two idiots "Do you have any idea who i am?" A 6 foot tall man appeared, he had long black hair, small brown eyes, big nose, and thin lips, put together, they made him look extremely ugly. he looked at red with a grin.

"WHAT? HOW DARE YOU?" the man yelled as he saw red turn around and walk away. He completely ignored him, which had the man fuming.

"I'M AN E RANKER KID, I RUN THIS SPOT. I'M GONNA RIP YOU TO PEACES, THEN I'LL MAKE YOU WATCH ME AS I HAVE MY FUN WITH THOSE WHORES." After the man completed the last part of his threat, his face paled and lost color. his legs started shaking and he could barely keep standing straight.

"I was going to let this go." Red said as he turned around "You shouldn't have said that last part." yellow lights shone in reds eyes, the air around him started moving the sand and messing with his hair. The scene had many people gasp. "You're too weak to be acting like that." as red completed his phrase. the man fell on his knees, and blood started coming from his nose and eyes, he even vomited. The immense pressure that is being released by red was suffocating. it felt like a mountain fell on top of him.

He started to feel worse and worse, people gasped as blood started coming out of his ears as well. The scene was terrifying. They were used to seeing all kinds of arguments and fights, this world was only for the strong, but this was the first time they saw an E ranker being beaten without his opponent even touching him or moving much.

with all kinds of groans and coughs coming from the man, people were sure he was going to die.

"Red, please stop." Liz grabbed Red's arm as she said with a low voice.

boom!

The pressure and dominating feeling that was coming off of red was gone, and a gentle smile appeared on his face "Sorry, did i go too far?" he asked.

"No, he deserved it." said nat as she walked over.

The man finally managed to lift his head up and barely get back on his feet, he looked at red with a terrified expression.

"I don't want to see you here again." said red in a cold tone.

The two guys woke up from the shock, ran to the man and helped him walk. they wanted to get out of there as fast as they could.
