The line between life and death is thin. With the numerous religions giving some glimmer of hope, people started hanging onto their thin rope. In an attempt to ease their minds about the unknown. But what if death is not the end? What if Death is only the beginning? Red lives in a vulnerable world, one where Windows to other planes of existence open often. Monsters and dangerous creatures reside in each, and the awakened are humanities only hope. Our story starts with Death and ends with Glory. Follow Red as he breaks through Worlds, practicing and growing stronger with each experience. The chosen Champion of the mysterious God.

New Year (1)

Link awoke in his bed. He looked left and right like he was trying to find something, but no one was around. His room was empty with the door shut. He sighed, Getting up slowly, feeling numb all over. Link's face was odd. Like he was lost in his thoughts. "That damn God" He said loudly.

After a deep breath, he muttered something and a window appeared right in front of him.

Finding everything back to normal, Link sighed in relief. "Where are they?" He muttered, scanning the area using his Psight, Link couldn't find neither Abby nor Bax.

"So they nearly killed me and just left?" Link clicked his tongue and walked out of his room. Downstairs his family was gathered. Upon seeing Link they greeted him, obviously ignorant to what happened.

"Your professor said that she'll come back some other day" Anny said, busy cooking.

"Ok" Link responded, shaking his head.

Link now stood in a field. He teleported out again because he wanted to try something. The new Skill that appeared when he was about to pass out.

<True Form: Allows the User to shed his shell and reveal his true form. Changes depending on race>

Link read the description and was shocked. "Was this not what the Divinity race looked like?" He asked.

<From the legends, the Divinity race looked different from one another. To an untrained eye, if they stood next to each other, they would seem like they all belong to a different race>

"What do you mean? Why?" Link asked.

<I don't know. That is all I know about them. But as to what is the main factor that causes such major changes is unknown. Although they are born the same and look the same as infants, as they grow up they start changing slowly>

Link went silent for a second. He was a bit confused, as Zero's story was not the only abnormal thing, but as he looked at the Skill in his Skills tab, it had something that made it stand out amongst the other Skills.

<True Form> <?@ad@??.à> <Max>

"The fuck is that? an email?" Link was worried that the system was glitching, but Zero spoke.

<The system is not broken, fear not. Let me explain what I presume is the reason. You studied coding before right?>

"Yeah, back on earth. What does that have to do with this?"

<I'm gonna give you an example> Zero said <Let's say you were tasked to write a part of a code in a website. One that asks for your age.

When you write it, it gives you a message giving you the ok to access a certain page or not.

The message appears as 'You are old enough for this content' or 'You are not old enough for this content'

If you were the one that coded this, you would know the message that appeared was one written by you. It did not magically appear. You gave the 'You are old enough for this content' message the condition that the user must be equal or above the age of 18, and for the 'You are not old enough for this content' message the condition that the user must be under 18>

"Where are you going with this? And is this Website the kind i'm thinking of right now?" Link asked.

<The messages never change. Like the 'Active Skill' and 'Passive Skill' messages that appear in front of Skills in the Skills Tab> Zero ignored Link's question and proceeded <It is not possible for the message to appear as 'You are not old enough but i'ma do you a favor and let you in' Since you did not put that in>

"I know, since I did not input it" Link said.

<The gibberish that appeared in front of the new Skill is the Skill itself trying to do exactly that>

"How is that possible?" Link asked "can you do something about it?"

<I might, but it's going to take some time>

"So I should wait for now and refrain from using the Skill?"

<Yes, we can't risk you becoming god knows what and be stuck like that since it's not a common Skill>

"Got it"

With his plans foiled, Link started Dungeon diving again. This was all he could do to grow stronger. He managed to finish 3 Dungeons, Leveling up twice in the process.

Link noticed that the Dungeons grew in Level the closer he got to the border. The reason was unknown but he saw this more of an opportunity. He needed to become stronger quickly and whatever the reason was for this occurrence. Link did not care.

His life progressed smoothly. His family started advancing well in their practice and became Level 1 Mages. This made Link happy as now normal thugs will not be a challenge for them. Link went to the Magic Shop and bought all the Spell books and training guides they might need. He even bought them Storage Rings and some Beast Souls. He could only buy Level 3 Beast Souls from shop, but that was more than enough. He gave the Queen of Thorns Beast Soul to his mother and the rest to his sisters, with all the Souls varying from armor, weapons and even halos and tattoos. Since only proper Mages could use Beast Souls and such, Link was very happy to buy them all they might need the moment they became genuine Mages.

The reason why Link went all out with everything was due to the message his bracelet flashed.

'All students prepare for your new year in our Academy.

Agents will be sent to pick you up so please be ready by tomorrow morning. We wish you a great new year.'

Link went all over the Kingdom that day. Either meeting some nobles, setting some good relations with them or stocking up on some items from the Magic Shop. He was about to leave his family there by themselves. Even with all the items and Beast Souls, all that was needed are Level 4 or higher Mages to take them down. So Link decided to set up some precautionary measures.

In the morning, a Blonde masked man appeared in front of Link and Samuel as they stood in front of their home. He did not speak and only tapped the two boys on the shoulder and Bam! They were back.

"Let's hope this is going to be a quiet year" Link muttered as he started walking around. "Wait" He spoke "Where the hell are we?"

Link could clearly tell that he was in the Academy territory. The town and giant castle in the distance were still the same, but some details here and there confused him.

"Don't worry Link" A boy spoke from behind the two "This is only the second year's area" Link looked back, seeing Fei looking at him with a smile. "Missed you guys" He said.
