Red Moon: Dead Future Alpha

“Alpha rogues!” I hear warriors yelling through the mind link. I sit quickly only to hear growls and the strong stench of rogues. As soon as I stand up I can feel Victor coming to the surface. I need to check on my parents and help get the women, pups, and elders to our panic room. Right before I reach the door, two wolves burst through. 'HOW DID THEY GET IN MY HOUSE' Victor growls. I try to shift, failing, as they both lunge at me. I can feel my eyes go black as Victor lets out a furious growl. “You walked into the wrong house, rogues!” I yell with Victor's voice echoing through mine. I watch both of them as they begin to snap their jaws at me when a dark shadow appears in the doorway firing a gun at me. I barely dodge it as the bullet grazes my skin and searing pain begins. The bullets are silver! Victor groans. I smash into my bedpost and hear a rib crack. Rolling onto my back, “Fucking rogues are going ––!” A scream came from my parents’ room. My head snaps in their direction. “Mom!” I yell for her. The two wolves pin me down as I try to move, despite the searing pain, to find my parents. The dark figure comes closer, dropping his hood.

Chapter 18: Smile, Be happy and Everything will be fine

Violet POV

It's been hours since Kevin has been back in the room, there's no way to escape without breaking and ripping off body parts. All I can think about is my parents getting that wedding invitation, I just hope they don't believe it and get me out of here.

I hear a voice and footsteps that stop right at my door, "Yes, dad I understand. We'll be there soon." This is all I hear from Kevin before he walks into the room.

"Hello, my bride, it seems that your family would like to speak with you and they won't stop harassing my parents until they do." He walks over, pulling the keys out of his pocket and unlocking the cuff on my leg that has been asleep. "With that being said, just remember what we talked about. You play the happy wife and your parents live." He finishes unlocking my wrist and helping me stand up. Now I have to find a way to leave my parents a message.

He blindfolds me before we leave the room and he walks me down several stairs and into his car. He is silent and only speaks after what feels like 25 minutes for me to take the blindfold off. I look out the window the second I get it off and recognize my neighborhood and we stop in front of my house.

"Before we go in there, straighten your clothes, put this sweater on," he throws one of his college sweaters at me from the back seat and I do as I'm told, mostly because I have a large bruise on my wrist from the cuff. "Smile, be happy and everything will be fine, okay." He stares at me and I nod quickly.

My parents are in the doorway as we make our way up the driveway, I don't run to them afraid that I would pay it later.

"Violet…" my mom gasps at my poor appearance and pulls me into a hug. My dad jumps in and pulls us into the house while throwing daggers at Kevin. The first thing I notice when I am finally in the living room is Zane and a woman.

"Violet, nice to see you again. This is my wife Mia," He says motioning to the woman.

"Pleasure to meet you, Violet, I have heard what an amazing nurse you have been in our community," Mia says, shaking my hand.

"Thank you, I enjoy my work," I said quietly to her. I look around and look back to Zane, Where is Vince? I know by the look and head shake that Mia gives me, that he's not here.

"I haven't seen him in a few days, after you didn't show up, he left and hasn't answered my messages," Zane says.

"Good, he can finally leave me and my bride alone," Kevin says and everyone turns to find him sitting in my dad's chair. I keep the disappointment off my face and sit down next to Mia on the couch. She grabs my hand, holds it, and looks at my father.

"Violet, what is this?" My dad asked, handing me my wedding invitation.

"Umm," I look to Kevin who is staring into my soul, and then back to my parents. "It's my wedding invitation. I came here to tell you that it's true and to grab the rest of my clothes." I say looking at Kevin who has a smile spreading across his face.

"Violet, do not lie to me!" My mother says in her mom voice.

"I would never lie to you mom, Kevin and I… are getting married and it would mean the world to me if you would come and support us." I finish and feel Mia tense at my words while my parents both look disappointed.

"May I go get my clothes now?" I say to my parents but glance at Kevin who is nodding his head. "I'll be quick, I would like to go home," I say standing up and making my way up the stairs, happy Kevin is staying put so I can hopefully leave a note for my family.

I walk into my room finally feeling safe with Kevin's eyes off me, I start crying while pulling clothes out of my drawers and placing them on my bed. I turn back to the dresser when a hand comes over my mouth. I jump but the hand muffles my scream and I turn to face whoever grabbed me.

"Vince…" The second I meet his green eyes I jump into his arms and let my tears fall.

"It's okay, I'm here babe," he says into my hair.

"They said you left, I thought I would never see you again," I say through my tears.

"I will never leave you, I'm sorry it took so long but I was in the hospital again. When they told me you were missing I went into a short coma. I met your parents here and explained to them what happened between us. They want us to be together, Vi." He says to me and I just stare at him. "Please don't marry him, come with me and I promise you will never see him again." He whispers to me.

"I can't, he threatened to kill my parents. He has me in this abandoned house, he cuffed me to the bed," I pull my sleeve up to show him the bruise. Another one of his animalistic growls causes me to jump and I watch his eyes go pitch black. He touches my wrist, taking deep breaths before kissing the bruise. The touch of his lips on my wrist caused a shockwave through my entire body.

"You aren't leaving, he's not leaving alive and your parents are safe," Vince says with pure rage.

"Vince, you can't kill him. If you can prove to me that my parents are safe from Kevin then I will stay with you." I say.

"Your mom is coming up the stairs to check on you, she knows I'm up here." He says watching as she opens the door and quickly comes inside.

"Mom, I'm so sorry, I don't know what to do." I cry harder.

"My baby, it's okay, we will get out of this situation." my mom says to me.

"Mary, he threatened you and Steve, I need you to stay with Violet. Do not leave this room." Vince demands of my mom and she agrees.

"Violet, take that sweater off." He asked me.

I took it off and quickly covered the bruise on my wrist with my other hand, but my mom grabbed my arm and pulled me towards her.

"What is this?" She says.

"Mary, I will handle it," Vince replies with a growl again. The growl doesn't scare my mom, she walks to Vince and grabs his face with both hands.

"I trust you and Victor." She says, kissing his forehead. He smiles back at her with such love, my heart squeezes and he takes the sweater from me.

"Umm, who is Victor?" I ask.

"That's for another day love, stay here." Vince kisses my head and walks out the door. My mom is right behind him locking it.

"Do you want to tell me who Victor is?" I ask my mom, sitting on the bed as she joins me.

"That is not my story to tell. When he tells you his story, I want you to keep an open mind and know with every part of your being that he will love you forever." She says to me and my eyes widen.

"Mom…" I try to explain that Vince doesn't love me.

"Violet, I knew the second I saw him in the hospital that you two had a connection. Once Vince told me his story, I now understand why." She finishes and we hear a crash from downstairs.

I stood up, "Vince!" I scream.
