The village people gathered at the docks to give their farewells to Neil who was loading provisions on a small boat that was given to him by his grandfather and some of the other villagers.
"Son if you run into any trouble make sure to come back right away." Said his father in a worried voice.
In reality, his father was very overprotective, at least as overprotective as one could be during these times.
"Don't worry I will."
"You idiot how dare you doubt the gods!", yelled his grandfather who smacked Nasak's head from behind.
"Dad that's not it. I'm just reminding him that this is his home and that no matter what. Anyway, stay safe."
He nodded and gave them all a hug, as he untied the boat from the docks he talked with his mom about their new pets.
"Keep them well fed and make sure that they don't go near Horen. For now, keep them in the bunker until they get used to you and the others…."
As he began sailing out he continued waving to his family until they became the size of ants. Then he turned around and looked into the big wide blue ocean.
'With the training I've had so far everything should be fine. Besides it's too late to give up now. With how religious grandpa is if I turn back he would kick my ass back on the boat and send me packing once more.'
As he imagined such a scene Neil couldn't help but chuckle He then brought a leather notebook his grandfather had given him. According to him, it was a sailor's log where he would write what happened on his journey and reflect on it. Another reason why he had said it was handy is to keep you sain with something to do while you're bored.
"Okay then let's get started. Let's write it in English since that way it'll give me an extra layer of privacy. That way I can write whatever I want and not have to worry about others reading it"

[Day 1]
I said bye to my village and began making my way to berk. The wind is working in my favor and will hopefully continue like this. Oh and remember that if you do return to Reioi you have to return the 5 gold that you borrowed from the Smith brothers. Zagha also owes you a sheep from the bet you made. Finally remember that sailing alone freaked you out and see if you still feel the same way.

[Day 2]
Things have been pretty uneventful just more and more water.

[Day 3]
Same more and more water

[Day 4]
I woke up late and missed sunrise so the sun compass won't be calibrated till the sun reaches its peak. For now, I'll continue based on the sun's path while it isn't as accurate it'll keep me moving.

[Day 5]
A big wave knocked me out of the boat

[Day 6]
I saw land but decided to continue going since I saw the people on it to be pretty sketchy.

[Day 7]
I'm sick of dried food so I tried something new bow fishing. It was great I managed to catch 8 fresh fish!! Old me who was afraid this has been pretty easy.

[Day 9]
My ship was attacked by a Scauldron my guess is that it was attracted by the fish I caught. I really am an idiot. I had no choice but to jump out thankfully it happened not far from land. I was also able to get some things that washed offshore including the log. For now, all I can do is start exploring this place and hope there's someone here,

Neil sighed and looked at his past logs that were now no more than smudges of ink.
"Neil what the hell did you do!!! How am I going to get out of here!!!"
'Now you are left with no home.'
After some time sitting under a tree crying over his situation, he smacked himself with both hands and got up.
"Me sitting and crying here won't fix anything."
From the compartment attached to the wooden boards of the ship, he had been able to find his log and some dried fruits. The dried fruits were far from being enough but it helped now all that was left was to look around the unknown land.
As he went into the forest he found it to have all kinds of animal tracks and dragon tracks as well.
'So a Zippleback is around here somewhere that's going to be troublesome since they might just be one of the most territorial dragons out there.'
After some time he came upon some vines from a tree that he hadn't seen before. He cut some of them down using one of his daggers and walked back to the shoreline.
He tied together some of the broken wood boards to a tree and created a kind of teepee tent using the tree as a central pillar.
It was a tight fit but even this caused him to feel more secure. As for food, he ate some fruits that he had collected during his exploration. He didn't know if they were safe to eat but he had to take a risk.
Neil had thought about making a makeshift spear and trying to catch something in the ocean but he voted against it in the end.
The sun was about to go down and the dark would take over. He had yet to make fire so he had no way to dry himself after diving in the water. Then finally even if he had managed to cook something there would be no fire to cook it with.
